The same number of U.S. troops have died in Trump’s Iranian war as died during the Afghanistan evacuation. FYI: It's weird how the media isn't hammering this point home the way they did back then.

Remembering the Shutdowns
The international covid shutdowns were among the worst public policy disasters (or crimes) of modern times, and yet there has been no accountability. In the Telegraph, Daniel Hannan sums up the effects of the shutdowns on Britain: “Six years on, the Covid lockdowns are still ruining our lives.”

"Was there truly a legal argument about whether a Scotch egg counted as a meal? Were we actually offered guidance on the correct way to have sex (avoid kissing and, if possible, keep your mask on)? And that weird ritual whereby, when restaurants reopened, we would put our masks on to walk to our table and then remove them. Did we really do that?

"Yes, we did, on pain of criminal sanction. Six years ago this Monday, we were confined to house arrest – something which, in law, normally requires a high burden of proof. Faced with Britain’s only genuine mass suspension of human rights, our human rights lawyers, so loud in their defence of foreigners and scoundrels, were silent."

It was similar in the U.S. In my state, Governor Tim Walz issued an executive order barring all residents from leaving their homes except as authorized by him. To my recollection, not a single voice from the “civil rights community” was raised in protest.

Hannan says that the U.K. shutdown was supported by 93% of the British people. I don’t know what the figure would be here, but certainly a majority. It was shocking at the time, and it remains shocking, to realize with what ease a large majority of Americans were happy to give up their freedom.

........ One cavil. Happy? Or scared into it? Brother, did the Karens come out in droves all that time. And they will never admit their errors. Not just maddening, but leaving us with the precedent of terrible policy by Expert & the 10,000 Enforcers.

But why is the lockdown still ruining our lives?

The argument: "[T]he lockdown remains the central fact of our lives, explaining not just our catastrophic levels of taxation, inflation and debt, but also the surge in welfare claims, the rise in shoplifting and littering, the decline in school standards, even the surge in immigration. It lies behind our low productivity, our contempt for the law and our slide in world rankings. It is a brooding, malevolent presence, always there, never acknowledged.
***
"In precisely the same way [as the aftermath of World War II], the lockdown increased voters’ demand for government assistance even as it exhausted the government’s resources. A poll published on Friday suggested that most British adults thought the state could afford to subsidise energy bills and end homelessness while also introducing a universal basic income. Any sense of basic economics we once had has been lost."

I have an honest question about aging and hair.
If you look close up, it looks pink or light red under the white hair... is that your head showing through, or did you play with the color? Or do you have light pink head covering and pulled the long white hair through?

Is that what bleaching hair does to the back of the scalp? Is your hair so thin it is see though? If I didn't know you over the years via photos, I would guess it is a wig, as have learned many black women your age wear, and you would not guess it.

I got my hair cut at a fancy FS yesterday = a fantastic Sam's that offers coloring too. I mentioned mine is starting to go grey a bit... the cutters always tell me I have nice hair, thick hair, and good wave, getting more curly. I keep it short. The price was $28, higher than the regular Great lips or Fantastic Sams, but included a hair shampoo, and she steeds it too. Great cut. She mentioned when washing when I brought up maybe someday wanting to color mine, that the sooner you start, the worse it is for your hair. The dental hygenist said recently that teeth whitening, even toothpaste, can be bad in stripping your teeth in the long run.

Is that what happens when you use chemicals for artificial beauty over time? Does your head hurt if the pink is your head.? Do you still color?Thank you.

Also, what is your weight and height? I have gotten bigger, but do not have that body shape. My blood pressure has gone up too. The hysterectomy changed my metabolism after the Covid and fibroid made the bleeding unbearable. I swim/kick a lot of laps but was wondering if the protein omlu meat diet and daily walking helped your numbers. I have a lot of stress, but was wondering as I hope to live a long life and we can learn from elders' choices... never took birth control, pills, either. Did you? Does that affect hair, body shape, etc?

Fwiw, you look way better than nina. She makes dumb decisions and ed controls her and her looks...
I can't believe she had that dog killed and is likely going to,put down or part with the replacement dog too. You are dingy, and selfish in your own way, but nina is really scary to me.

For question number one i guess i am asking..was it worth it?Would you do it again for looks, since your looks were important in your career with everyone looking at you? Or would you choose differently knowing what you know now? Thank, you.
