Juxtaposition of good and evil. Jesus vs. NYT. Take it to 11

NYC always looks better in B/W.

There's a timelessness to the photo. Then it struck me the building across the street. You can't see the word Times, LOL. Get it? Times less? Pun definitely not intended.

She is back in New York, after her trip to Italy

That's the PABT! I commuted through there for many years.

Eternal life guaranteed with Jesus? I was raised to believe the eternal life part was guaranteed, no matter what, and it was the destination of our eternity that we could determine, with Jesus.

There should be a guy there selling autographed pictures of Christ.

Those were two great magazines back in the day. CC, JSM

Brother, can you spare a dime? Is that ever needed across the street.

Anyone notice the fish-head man?

That’s Admiral Ackbar’s kid…

What's weird about the photo? 3 out 4 people are NOT looking at their phones.

Fish head man is doing the stare-down-at-your-phone pose in a hoodie over a ballcap with a car tire in the left background serving as his right fish-eye. I didn't see him as fish-head man until you pointed it out, and now I can't unsee it.

Guessing that Chris is straight or simply appreciates a pretty woman.

Fish head? That's a guy with his hoodie up over a baseball style cap.

Poor guy.

He can't play baseball,
He don't wear sweaters,
He's not a good dancer,
He don't play drums.

Heh. The building sign could be read as "The New You." On point with the evangelist.

The photo is so intriguing, it looks like a transparent positive image sitting on a light table.

There’s a Mexican Pentecostal church in our downtown. Do they speak English when they speak in tongues?

Bryant said...

At the pearly gates: but the guy said Jesus guaranteed eternal life?
Peter: No, he only guarateed it

That guy attended bible study at The Learing Center.

I get a Jar-Jar Binks vibe from the fish head guy.

NYC is so uncool.

This is a good one. Too many black and white digital photos get muddy and kind of shy away from nice contrast.

Kodak T max 400 is the best bw film but tri x can be good if you want gritty oddly lit shots, it’s coarse grained. Or Illford delta 400 if that is all you can get.

Big city life is the best. IMHO.

I mostly live in my rural houses. But images like this remind me that IRL is best experienced in a big city. Rural IRL is calming, but calming-ness can become dull.

Monday morning I'm going from NW rural life to hanging in Atlanta, and then Miami. That'll remind me that big city fun can have an expiration date. After that, I'll go back to one of my rural places.

Thank God I don't have to live in a place like that. Rather a small town of 30,000 middle class white folks. A pastoral setting of lakes, hiking and biking trails, a couple golf courses, and a few small cattle farms.
