"This is the CEO of Victoria's Secret, claiming that Epstein, who he hired to manage all of his money, had alerted him to the danger if you didn't inventory forks and spoons...."

"A guy like Les Wexner has to protect himself from fork theft. Understand? So that's where Jeffrey Epstein came in. Even his lawyer is looking at him like, well, this is an odd example. Even his lawyer's like, this is why we gotta keep it to five less, five words or less. Because now we're like, you're talking about forks and knives and spoons. Les Wexner on what Jeffrey Epstein did for him.... People could be stealing your silverware and Les Wexner's like, well that's what a good thought. I'd never thought that, here's all of my money. Let me give you power of attorney over literally all of my assets. Because you came up with this...."

A Power of Attorney is more powerful than a blank check. You can steal real estate, securities etc.

This Les Wexner case is inexplicable. Why did he give Epstein that house in NYC and allow him to steal millions? I suspect blackmail videos. Wexner wasn’t stupid.

I heard one commentator say that he gave Epstein the power of attorney precisely so that he could not be held accountable for the things Epstein did. Perhaps now he gives a stupid or addled answer so that his decision will appear stupid rather than Machiavellian.

Sounds like Wexner is pulling a "Vinnie the Chin," babling like a fool, and thus deemed not competent to stand trial for whatever may emerge.

Yeah probably, it doesnt say much about his judgement

We're still in the early stages of selecting useful targets, in a target-rich environment.

I'm convinced they don't really want to get to the bottom of the Epstein saga, and it's the obvious unexplained things they keep not talking about or investigating, like this, that convinces me.

Actually Wexner hired Epstein to help design Victoria’s Secret underwear and training bras in misses’ sizes.

Lex Wexner claimed he wasn't Epstein's friend, despite Emails where he calls Epstein "His good friend". He gave him power of attorney over his billions, gave Epstein his Manhattan townhouse, and was in constant contact with him for 20 years.

But according to his Congressional testimony poor ol' Lex was just a gullible rube taken in by Epstein who he didn't even like. OK, sure. Mostly Wexner just "couldn't remember" when confronted with stuff from the Epstein files. "Yeah, I could have written that, but y'know that was so long ago, and I'm just a poor little old man who can't tie his shoes".

Counting knives and forks is a metaphor for employee theft prevention, which in a low-margin retail business like apparel is the difference between success and failure. By all early accounts Epstein specialized in tax avoidance; it didn’t matter whether the tax was theft by employees or the government. This podcaster is displaying the dopey knack of taking someone literally but not seriously.

Anyone associated with the romance-novel-soft-p0rn firm Victoria's Secret had zero illusions about Epstein. Anyone who has amassed $1B cannot claim ignorance. No one stumbles into maintaining $1B+ for decades -- every last one must be brilliant, predatory, or defensively monopolistic. Or all three.

Tommy Hilfigger is from my hometown and he had a small store there, then created a small chain, and had to go bankrupt because he had no idea where the money was going, after that lesson was learned, he became a global brand, he credits the brutal lesson of the first business.

I found the clip very funny. Exaggeration to say the least.
In the first place Epstein did not manage all of Wexner's money. In fact most of Wexner's money (billions) was tied up in his business empire, stocks, etc. I did some research into when Wexner gave Epstein control over some of his money, Wexner was in his mid 50's. I asked about Wexner's children and if they were involved professionally in his businesses? None of them are. One was listed as an 8th grade English teacher, another involved with charitable work, another managing the family's estate in England and philanthropy. The family is very "private." My underlying question was why would Wexner get so personally involved with Epstein, was he looking for some kind of kindred spirit, a son figure? I didn't get an answer but that is my impression. Certainly Wexner would never admit something like that publicly.

Funny how Wexner was kept out of this until now. While he forgot his friendship with Epstein when talking to Congress, he didn't forget that no DOJ or FBI person has ever interviewed him about Epstein. Or about the rape accusations Wexner faced in the 90s.

Its good to be the king. And in the USA its good to be a big donor.
