Slow motion:Tofig Aliyev from Azerbaijan just landed the world’s first full-full-full at the World Games in China. A full-full-full is a triple backflip with a 360° twist in each somersault pic.twitter.com/pVw3hWSJzP

Slow-mo half speed. His arms don’t touch the ground. Incredible. Full, Full, Full with a 360 degree twist on each flip. pic.twitter.com/isBewZMD1S

How long till a commenter makes a political analogy? CC, JSM
Well, that’s flippin’ fantastic!
Maybe it’s been said many times before in competitions over the years, but that has to be asymptotically close to what a human body is capable of in that floor exercise.
Aw c'mon. Us old timers used to do that when we were kids.
...through the snow, uphill both ways.

Cory Doctorow wrote a short story in which people were choosing to alter themselves for physical and athletic advancement - becoming transhuman. I can't remember how it ends or, indeed, much about the plot - just that there was a main character who had had his legs amputated and replaced by those spring prosthetics so he could, what, run really fast? I think Doctorow placed the story in Mexico as it was (in the story) still illegal in the US to perform such surgeries electively.
I wonder when we'll get a Transhuman Games.

I remember when I was about four years old calling my mother and aunt into the living room to watch me do backward rolls over a couple of hassocks lined up. I called it the “Backwards Curvy.”
I don’t like to brag, but no Olympian has tried it since.
The Paralympics has runners using springy wooden things instead of legs.
That is the entirety of my knowledge of this competition.
4.5 He should have held his landing.
Didn’t he already do that this summer? Or is this one of those stories Althouse didn’t want to take about?
Very impressive.
Is this like skateboard and dirt bike tricks? Once someone proves it can be done, everyone else follows suit.
Amazing what the human body can do with the proper training.
This was back in August. I believe I learned of it from a link in a "Sunrise" post here.
Dude only won the silver, but I thought it more impressive than the gold, but that guy had height and twists while Tofig just powered through like he was in a track competition with flips.

What's his max elevation there? Maybe a high-jumper should try this.
Ridiculous.
I paid attention to me getting out of bed this morning. Then watched this.
The age gap is growing.

I think that the current generations all over the world had about 10 times the opportunity to participate in these types of sports that my generation or your generation had.
We are seeing the talent of the world given the opportunity to express itself in ways that were not possible in the past.
They all have this opportunity because the United States has lifted much of the world out of poverty.
Unbelievable! WOW!
Hard to believe that was a controlled movement. Which overshadows the equally amazing (to me) height he got on that jump. He could have dunked with his feet.
Meh...didn't stick the landing. Needs work.
The track is spring loaded allowing for extra height. These aren't feats they would be able to do otherwise. Still were amazing!
