"Guys. No one believes you on here."

The White House joins Bluesky.

The results are predictable:

Scroll here to see more of how Bluesky receives the White House.

Here's how AP reports it: "White House joins Bluesky and immediately trolls Trump opponents." That's fair, because...
The first post included mentions of the administration’s executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico, a doctored image of Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries adorned in a sombrero with a faux mustache, and stream of photos and video from other big moments in the early going of Trump’s second term.

“What’s up, Bluesky?” the White House said in a message accompanying the video. ”We thought you might’ve missed some of our greatest hits, so we put this together for you. Can’t wait to spend more quality time together!”
Here's that first post:

What's up, Bluesky? We thought you might've missed some of our greatest hits, so we put this together for you. Can't wait to spend more quality time together! ❤️🇺🇸

Glad BlueSky will get the Hippo treatment they typically give others.

I noted the clip included a one-second recent clip of Trump's golf swing, something I haven't seen for several years.

His backswing is a bit restricted, but fine for a man his age, and he makes a good, athletic move through the ball on the downswing.

The Dims are crazy to emphasize Trump's health. Compared to Biden he looks like a young man. Joe didn't know if he was 'on foot or horseback' for the entire four years he was Prez.

I can't wait for the White House to open a Democratic Underground account.

Weezer did a cover of "Mr. Blue Sky" on the Teal Album nearly indistinguishable from the original except it was Weezer.

The owner of Twitter just reinstated the accounts of several Nazi who had been suspending for violating Twitter's rules about doxxing other users. Now here's another piece on Bluesky's intellectual diversity problem.

If I can be serious for a moment here....it would be better if everyone but the very worst Twitter users comes to Bluesky so that they aren't under Elon's thumb.

The Vault Dweller said...

It is trolling. They expected and hoped for the responses they are getting. Similarly, I thought when JD Vance went on Bluesky it was trolling too. He knew that there would be some posters there who couldn't help themselves. Though JD Vance getting banned was perhaps unexpected and as a result a really good outcome for him and the Right. I don't think this is a if you keep going to the well it will run dry situation because the Left at large has an endless supply of desire to feel like they are fighting the good fight, but this could turn into a situation it becomes a tactic that your side grows tired of.

Eric the Fruit Bat said...

The entire Teal Album is like that. A strange phenomenon is experiencing a guilty conscience while listening to it. There's probably a descriptive term in psychology but I'm an idiot.

"it would be better if everyone but the very worst Twitter users comes to Bluesky so that they aren't under Elon's thumb."

Nah. The Left at large, at least currently, doesn't really understand or value Free Speech, even after the Jimmy Kimmel situation. They view media and platforms as mechanisms to get other people to believe what they want people to believe, hence the endless search for the "Joe Rogan of the Left." It is all just an ends justify the means strategy of getting young men to believe in the various tenets of Leftyism. While Elon and Twitter aren't perfect they are certainly better than any Lefty group and much more than the left view Free Speech as a goal in and of itself.

The Left’s overwhelming need to posture and see themselves - and have others perceive them - as heroic is one of the funniest things about them.

Uh, not to point out the obvious, but Elon allowing pretty much anybody to say pretty much anything is the textbook definition of NOT being under his thumb. This is in contrast to Bluesky where my account was officially dinged as hate speech when I posted that men couldn’t become women.

In the bizarro world of leftist lunatics freedom of speech is only possible when they’re allowed to control and censor what people say. Actual freedom of speech terrifies them.

Trump does not destroy his enemies. He brings out their hatred and then they destroy themselves.

even after the Jimmy Kimmel situation

Which had nothing to do with actual freedom of speech. So they couldn't learn anything useful or real from it.

"No one here believes you" sounds a lot like your friend and mine Achilles - he uses the "no one here" thing a lot. The difference is that he's often wrong about commenters here - when he says "no one here cares what you think," for instance, frequently people do actually care what the other commenter thinks, and continue to engage with the other commenter and so forth. But on Bluesky that commenter is probably right, since lockstep is the general tenor of things there.

Their boos mean nothing, I've seen what makes them cheer.

I signed on to Bluesky the day Charlie Kirk was murdered. I had seen reports of how bad they were acting there but didn't want to believe it was as bad as reported. It was at least as bad as reported. Threads thousands of post long all dancing on the grave of the caricature of a dead man.

Good for Trump. Shocked the reply only had 146 likes. No doubt something more foul-mouthed and insulting against Trump will get more. Or maybe bluesky's far-left users decided they'll just ignore Trump.

RCOCEAN II said...

The Left reaction to Trump is still deranged but its much more calm than it was 2017-2020. Maybe they realize trump cant change what they cherish - massive demographic change or Wars in the middle east.

Blusky is all cloudy. Not letting me see nooting, without an account.

RCOCEAN II said...

What people on Bluesky LOVE to do is block people. Bluesky blocking can be done en masse. Leftist have created and shared "block lists" of people don't like. As one person said "Mass block lists on Bluesky are great."

Unlike twitter, blocked people on Bluesky cant see your content. I bet Antifa and other organized left groups love this feature, since they can conspire and plot without fear of anyone else seeing them.

RCOCEAN II said...

This is why bluesky was created in the first place. Leftists were angry and upset that Non-leftists could see their posts and respond. How dare they! Now, they have a completely sealed off echo chamber.

Grundoon said...

The president of all the people is now talking to all the people, and with social media sites they can talk to him. It makes sense to me that Bluesky users aren't shut out of modern American life.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

Can they block me without me even joining?

I kind of like that idea. Reminds me of the old Groucho line : I wouldn't belong to a club that would have me as a member.

The best kind of trolling is where you point out how badly wrong the object of your scorn is, not in your terms, but in terms of civilized society. No safe spaces, no hidey holes. There is no right to be left alone - remember?

Bedlam, formerly St Mary of Bethlehem outside Bishopsgate, people used to go there to be entertained by the lunatics and their antics. Visiting Bluesky is like that, only safer and less smelly -- not that the your typical Bluesky lurker isn't homicidal, they are, and not that they don't stink of feces and urine, meander into one of today's "No Kings" slo-mo riots and take a strong inhale. Bluesky is better than a Bedlam tour because technology hasn't yet caught up with insanity.

How did the Trump White House qualify to join BlueSky? Did some hapless female intern have to get a nose ring? (The purple hair and the tattoos can be washed out, but a nose ring, that's taking one for the team.)

California's very own Brylcreem Boy, Gavin Newsom, has hired a couple of young folks to do his trolling for him. They do come up with some of the lamest stuff as Newsom battles for attention. Compared to Trump's folks they are definitely the JV team--or more correctly , since they couldn't make the JV cut, the scrubs.
