"The Senate on Thursday narrowly confirmed Kash Patel as the next director of the F.B.I., installing a hard-line critic of the bureau whose unwavering loyalty to President Trump has raised questions...."

"The 51-to-49 vote, with two Republican defections, means that Mr. Patel will now oversee the vast surveillance and investigative powers of the F.B.I., whose mission is seeking out the truth even if it angers the president...."

The NYT reports.

Decided to fact check the NYT. Here's the FBI Mission Statement page: https://www.fbi.gov/about/faqs/what-is-the-mission-of-the-fbi
Quote: "The mission of the FBI is to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution of the United States."

I don't think using SWAT teams to arrest a grandmother that stayed within the velvet ropes of the Capitol and took selfies is protecting anybody. I'm doubtful it is upholding the Constitution.

Batten down the hatches, NYT and shitbirds in general. Your flagrant, self-absorbed, devil-may-care violations of our laws will be under investigation and prompt prosecution.

Ho Ho Ho. Just ask Jim Comey, or Peter Strzok, or Andrew McCabe, truth-seekers extraordinare..... Now.... about that archived list from Jeffery. I bet that one will make the President angry, all right - let's test !

The three big agencies under the umbrella of RFK Jr.'s HHS - CDC, NIH, FDA. All very important ,as the ugly truth about the whole COVID-19 scamdemic has yet to move to the forefront.

Looking forward to Jared Isaacman's confirmation as NASA director. He's both a fan of SpaceX, having paid for his own flights with them twice, and a former CEO of a defense contractor. He's an excellent choice for trying to remake NASA either into a 21st century space agency or letting us know it is too far gone to save.

whose mission is seeking out the truth even if it angers the president..

I can't believe any sentient being wrote that line. For most of its history, the FBI has been out to aggrandize the FBI, the rest of the government be damned. Did the mainstream press just forget the hi-jinks of the J. Edgar Hoover years vis-a-vis any governmental attempt to rein in the FBI? The FBI has been rogue for most of its history.**

All of my life, it's been the Lefties who have suffered at the hands of the FBI, and wished to rein it in. Now, it's the Lefties who have gotten on the side of the Intelligence agencies as long as they target Republicans!

** e.g. the FBI & NSA never told Pres. Truman about the existence of the Venona Files.

Thank God. Now maybe we will get a FBI director who will answer questions from Congress and tell the truth. Looking forward to learning Wray's role in the margo Trump raid and why he was hiding FBI involement in J6. Among other things. Lots of dirty laundry and Wray wasn't the solution he was the problem.

RCOCEAN II said...

We get the usual NYT's "Oh my, the D's are concerned about X". Except they've voted against every Trump cabinet nominee 47-0 with a few 45-2 votes. They hate Trump. They have no real concerns, since every single Goddamn Trump pick is hated by them.

I think this speaks to the momentum Trump has generated. Hegseth, Gabbard, Patel, and Kennedy were all very iffy when first nominated, but wobbly Republican's heard from the people that not supporting Trump's nominees would not be forgotten. People genuinely understand this is a once in a generation opportunity, and they want to help Trump seize it.

" . . . whose unwavering loyalty to President Trump has raised questions."

There's that snide and dishonest trope used by the Pravda media over and over to imply something that they are unwilling to just come out and say. Who, NYT, has raised these "questions," exactly? And why should loyalty to the appointing executive be questioned, exactly?

We all know that if the party roles were reversed, we'd be getting another tiresome dose of "Republicans pounce."

Good news: most Americans have turned these "news" sources off.

To be clear, he's called for a 15% cap on admin overhead. The actual grant money would stay the same.

Jim at: "Yeah. I'm sick of that bitch. Collins, I can understand. There's no excuse for Murkowski."

Remember, McConnell and the DC GOPers worked with the Murkowski team to get Ranked Choice Voting adopted as the voting framework in Alaska and then McConnell handed $10M in republican donor cash to Murkowski (running as an independent) so that she could use all $10M to attack the actual republican candidate for the Alaska Senate seat.

Which she did.

That's the real McConnell for you.

This is a glorious day, the one I've been waiting for the most eagerly since the election.

Patel will utterly smash the Deep State scum and expose all of their illegal machinations. We will soon have a legitimate crime-fighting investigatory agency again, instead of a rogue Stasi secret police force working for the political gain of the Democrat Party and the coercive schemes of the globalist vermin.

Lisa Murkey voted against ACB and she voted against cloture on Kavanaugh, and then voted "Present" in the final vote. She's a liberal Democrat who likes Big business and looks out for Alaska's interests.

It shows how stupid Conservatives are that they sat back and allowed the liberal/left to push "Ranked voting" through. Its an insane voting system. And we cant even trust the election officials to count a simple " One vote one candidate" without fraud or incompentence. Imagine what they are doing with "ranked voting". LOL!

Looking forward to Patel firing half the "7th floor" at FBI HQ. MSNBC doing their same nonsense "The FBI is supposed to be non-partisan and independent, Trump is destroying that". Where did people get the idea the FBI is 4th branch of Government.

That's what was so crazy about Comey. He'd tell Trump he couldn't talk to him directly or in private because of the FBI's "Special Status" as if the POTUS wasn't his boss! The FBI isn't supposed to do anything illegal or unethical. Its not a separate kingdom.

@Marty – I recently read a rather interesting book about the rise and fall of the various denizens of Laurel Canyon (an exclusive neighborhood in North Hollywood) where anyone who was anyone in the music scene of the 60s and 70s lived. Among the fascinating tidbits fleshed out was that J. Edgar and his not-so-secret special pal were well known in the Canyon for their proclivities. No one batted an eye, and no one worried about facing the wrath of law enforcement for the stuff that went on there.

It's a waste of MFing time going after Nancy Pelosi since Trump declared that all of the major Narco traffickers and foreign gangs are terrorist groups. Petty little revenge fantasy is fueled by low testosterone. Especially since they can all be shipped to El Salvador.

Too true. Wray had them sue the FBI for failing to protect the privacy of their tweets -- the ones they sent on their FBI phones during working hours, plotting against the President. He then agreed to settle the suit, with a huge payout to the lovebirds.
