Jamie said...: I have no idea what a "groyper" is and don't want to pollute my feeds by trying to find out more, I have a vague recollection of the name Nick Fuentes with some connection to ?neo-Nazism?, and I hope community notes continue. It seems that the community note in question has been taken down without explanation, but some commenters are drawing a distinction between an account's being suspended and its blue check being withdrawn, something about monetization...

My use of X is desultory at best - "everybody says" it's where you can get the most freewheeling news stories, but I haven't figured out how.

Mary Beth said...: I had noticed more and more popular accounts on X doing engagement farming - posting things like " says they are going to leave the U.S. if Trump wins, what do you say?". There were other types, but they would all state a hypothetical as if it were a fact and ask for people's opinion. I haven't been seeing nearly as many farming posts lately.

If I knew the accounts that were banned and could see the last couple of months of posts, I'd have an opinion on their bans. Maybe none of them were doing that and they got banned for the wrong reasons, but if they were farming, good riddance.; 1/2/25, 11:16 AM
