"He re-jiggers the facts, or makes them up, and rushes to tell as many people as he can so that is the version of reality that gets distributed in people’s minds...."

That sounds like humanity in general, but it's RFK Jr., described in writing by his ex-wife, who killed herself in 2012. The writing was a draft of an affidavit, to be filed in divorce proceedings.

The quote appears in this New York Post article (with an idiotic misplaced modifier in the headline): "Mary Kennedy accuses ex-husband RFK Jr. of being ‘sexual deviant’ and ‘gaslighting’ from beyond the grave."

No one will be able to cross-examine that affidavit or the author of that affidavit.

This is a post-mortem lynching of an uppity Kennedy who has left the liberal plantation and has decided to make America healthy again.

Big Pharma must be very concerned

Only a draft? Why is this taken seriously?

Has a Kennedy male ever not been a deviant? Never bothered Democrats before. This guy's sin was accepting to become a Trump official.

Why did anyone take Anita Hill and Christine Blasey Ford seriously?

Unlike Pete Hegseth's ex-wife, she's not around to say it's untrue. This is the Democrats, upping their game.

This is the poor woman who had second thoughts about committing suicide but was unable to loosen the rope around her neck. So sad for her kids to have to live with that knowledge.

"Ex-wife hanging herself in the barn" would usually be considered a big disqualifier for cabinet appointees. I won't get upset if he's not confirmed. Still, his father and uncles had plenty of disqualifiers of their own, and cousin Caroline can barely speak English. When did fact re-jiggering and rushing to spread your story before the truth gets out keep anybody from a successful Washington DC career anyway?

Yes. He's a Kennedy. That's baked in. Thanks for your input, which never bothered Democrats until right this minute.

Not as much as psychojawea...some of her biggest donors are the pharmaceutical industry. No wonder she went apeshit.

Breaking News: Junior's found unfit to be choir boy.

Kind of makes you wonder, exactly what information were the investigators looking for, concerning HHS secretary qualifications, that might be found in old divorce papers. Would that our vaunted senators weather such scrutiny, say on an annual basis.

I take it RFK Jr is dead to the family.

I feel like claiming RFK Jr. is being sexually deviant beyond the grave is gaslighting.

Earnest Prole said...

Of course RFK Jr is a sexual deviant — to say otherwise would be to dishonor his family.

When party loyalty trumps even family. The only way that’s possible is for someone to be completely convinced that it is for the greater good. That they are sacrificing, if you will, for a higher good. It’s how people can snitch on each other. Just look at the East German secret police files during the Cold War. One East German turned in his lover. Carolyn is probably proud of herself for exposing a traitor.

Good guys virtue signaling run amok.

RFK Jr is "gaslighting from beyond the grave"?
That's IT! i'm through with him! He's DEAD to me!!

BUMBLE BEE said...

"she was his wife at the time he died"
That, friends, is Olympic class re-jiggering.

So RFK jr. cleaned up the Hudson river for this?

I thought he had made amends. Obviously missed some close important relatives.

The only person responsible for a suicide is the person themselves.

Eva Marie said...

This is so sad for him. What awful people Democrats are. Would it really be the end of the world if his nomination was confirmed?

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

Put the party’s needs ahead of everything.

I thought the issue of a politician’s character and behavior in his personal life was decided with Bill Clinton, it doesn’t matter and nobody cares.

Without this nonsense, Democrats would have one of their own - a sympathetic ear in the Trump cabinet. Reminds me of Nancy Pelosi . If she had acted more conciliatory during Trumps first term he would have made deals with her - worse for us but better for the Democrat party. But they are all about scorched earth. Everything dialed up to 11.

She had attempted suicide a couple of times before their relationship.

I'm trying to imagine what exactly the Dem Senators would publicly say they consider sexually deviant these days?
I would like to see one of them try to answer this question without offending a constituent identity group and being attacked as some kind of 'phobe.

How weak kneed do the Democrats think Republican senators are that they would fall for these smears?

Oh ... I see.

Aggie said...

I ask the question again, because I don't know: Are the votes for confirmation anonymous or recorded? I hope that every single one is recorded. It's time for the Voter organizations to step up the wattage on their spotlights.

Drago said...

Well played.

But lets be honest. Its not that many "republican" senators are weak kneed, its more that a significant chunk of "republicans" are actually aligned with the dems and they are having a more difficult time hiding that fact with the current state of technology/information sharing and rapid republican base mobilization. See: Joni Ernst & Thom Tillis.

"From beyond the grave?" So, Trump literally nominated a Dead Kennedy?

boatbuilder said...

A draft of an affidavit? From a dead woman? Really?

An affidavit is typically drafted by an attorney to support and establish what the attorney and client are trying to establish in the matter at issue. The affidavit is drafted based on what the lawyer thinks is the most effective language to convey truthfully what the client or witness knows in support of the argument. No ethical lawyer (yeah, I know) should ever submit any affidavit without confirming the absolute truth of what is stated with the client. An affidavit that is not sworn to is worthless--and it's publication would appear to be a violation of attorney-client privilege.
Who put this "affidavit" forth? If it is an attorney, that attorney should be disbarred.

I've watched several readings/reviews of Ask Not, which makes the Kennedy males out to be selfish monsters and their wives doormats and/or nutty. I'm surprised the book wasn't used against him earlier--I thought that was the reason for its publication.
RFK supposedly kept her poor--she had to borrow $20 from another school mom.

People who end their lives are in real pain of one kind or another and see no possible end to it. Or maybe they're not thinking so good and have a little help from booze or drugs. Sadly, young girls sometimes think it will show the mean girls and they'll start treating her better next week. I know and love one of these girls and pray for her every night.

Nothing like an unbiased writing from someone without an axe to grind, who can no longer be cross-examined.

"Why did anyone take Anita Hill and Christine Blasey Ford seriously?"

Because their accounts were credible.
