From the Gateway Pundit:
“José Andrés [fired by President Trump today] is the same individual who was photographed with Ryan Wesley Routh—Donald Trump’s would-be assassin—and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom earlier this month [by President Biden].
According to reports, the photo was taken in Kiev a while back when Ryan Wesley Routh was a prominent figure in Ukraine’s capital for his habit of displaying American flags in Maidan Square”
It boggles the mind.

Trump? or Oliver Cromwell?

It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place,

which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice.

Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government.

Ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.

Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess?

Ye have no more religion than my horse. Gold is your God. Which of you have not bartered your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?

Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defiled this sacred place, and turned the Lord's temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices?

Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. You were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, are yourselves become the greatest grievance.

Your country therefore calls upon me to cleanse this Augean stable, by putting a final period to your iniquitous proceedings in this House; and which by God's help, and the strength he has given me, I am now come to do.

H/T to Alexander Mercouris for this one.

I know I have been called a liar and a Putin stooge for my take on Ukraine, but now Time magazine has interviewed one of Biden's advisors, and son of a gun, it turns out that the point of view I have been putting up here has been right all along: https://time.com/7207661/bidens-ukraine-win-zelensky-loss/

We used Ukraine for our own ends, spent their blood like water, and the whole war was about NATO expansion.

Leonard Peltier was convicted on two counts of first degree murder of two FBI agents. The Biden administration has commuted his two life sentences and he will be released from prison on February 18, 2025. I think it likely that while he is at large Mr. Peltier will meet with an accident.

After his announcement of $500 Billion stargate project, Trump took question and of course none of the Press Corps jackasses were interested in the project. Instead they asked him about all the topics they want to discuss. Poor illegals, what about the injured police on J6, etc. One reporter lied and said 450 J6ers had assaulted the police. Achually, 450 were convicted of "resisting arrest, assaulting an officer, impeding a police officer, or obstructing a police officer". How many actually attacked a CHP is unclear. Only 15 were hospitalized on J6.

Trump needs to handle the press differently this term. They've shown they have zero desire to inform the american public and don't care about "speaking truth to power". They were perfectly happy talking to Biden once a month and giving him pre-screened written questions. Trump should be quite ruthless and rude to them. They don't deserve any better.

They really don’t matter anymore. We don’t need no stinking press telling us what a great man President Trump is or how stylish his lady is. We see it with our own eyes. With minimal publicity, Melania’s book has stayed on the top of Amazon’s best seller list for 3 months. Now it’s in the top 10 again.

You know how the socials are all in a dither? over Elon Musk gesturing his heart out.

If what Elon's gesture did not mean 'sending his heart out', what is the gesture for 'sending your heart out'? I really need to know this.

I would argue that for a man sending that many rockets into space, that gesture should, indeed must, come naturally to him.

The fire truck pulled up to a checkpoint Saturday morning near where emergency workers were sifting through the wreckage caused by the Palisades fire.

The driver told the National Guard troops manning the perimeter that he was a volunteer firefighter, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the incident told The Times.

They had little reason to believe otherwise, said the official, who wasn’t authorized to speak with the media and requested anonymity. The man was wearing a yellow firefighter uniform — and he was driving a full-size red fire engine outfitted with emergency lights, California license plates and an American flag.

But a firefighter at the checkpoint noticed something off about the decals on the truck, which had markings from the “Roaring River Fire Department,” the official said. He told Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies to check the man’s ID.

According to the law enforcement official, the man presented an Oregon driver’s license with the name of Dustin Nehl. A search of Nehl’s criminal history revealed he had served five years in prison for arson, the official said.

In 2017, KATU, a Portland TV station, reported that Nehl pleaded guilty to setting a series of fires at a golf course, a park and a water facility in Woodburn, Ore., a city about 30 miles south of Portland."

According to the Koyukon Athabaskans they have called Mt. McKinley by the name Denali for over 2000 years. I, for one, would like to see their written documentation of that...

That and some genetic proof that they, indeed, are the descendants of the people who lived there 2000 years ago. I recall some kerfluffle a few years back where a tribe was fighting furiously to prevent DNA testing of an ancient corpse that had been dug up, a corpse of a revered ancestor. And courts, finally and sanely, allowed the tests to proceed, showing the ancient and revered ancestor of theirs had zero relationship to the tribe presently living in the area...

And on naming, I also recall reading within the last year or two, of a hill in Britain. That when translated from the original language to the second dominant language in the area, to today, is called Hill Hill Hill. First set of conquerors asked "What is that hill over there called?" and the natives said "Hill" in their language, which was phonetically translated and it became "Hill Hill". And the same scenario played out again, and it became Hill Hill Hill....

I was talking to our county historian one time. Our county has a few hundred (maybe >1000) lakes. Only one has a recognized name. The rest simply have no names, local, recent, or known ancient name. They're simply there, ready for naming by any opportunistic cartographer. Most of the rivers, creeks, and streams are in the same unnamed situation. And only one swamp is named, though it now no longer a swamp, but a federally protected wetland.

Yes Virginia, Trump has issued an executive order that defines sex as what a person is at conception, despite the fact that fetal sex doesn't begin to differentiate until about 7 weeks into gestation!

So our low IQ chief executive has used the highest office in the land to declare all Americans to be legally female.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, a brilliant executive order has declared overcharging for eggs as illegal even when hens are being killed to control bird flu. Perhaps Trump should attempt to understand commodity pricing.

These things tend to go back and forth for years and years. Consider what came before and what is likely to happen after Trump.

When King Charles I lost the English Civil War, he was executed in 1649. Then, Cromwell reigned until he died in 1658 of natural causes. The English brought back the son of the king, Charles II in 1660. Charles II pardoned most of his opponents (except those who killed his father; nine were executed). Charles II also had the most over-the-top Alice in Wonderland official portrait of any king ever:

You are both correct.

Federal worker status has been grossly distorted by Trump's allies. The biggest proponent of return-to-work is the left-wing mayor of D.C., Muriel Bowser. Her main goal is to provide jobs to service workers, and she is also under pressure from the owners of empty office buildings (i.e., going bankrupt; poor resale value; taxes in question). Federal jobs that require in-person work have always been in person (e.g., at the Pentagon or anything requiring a secure room). Some jobs do not require face-to-face contact and these were sometimes remote BEFORE COVID. It's rather easy to remotely track the productivity of someone hired to review applications, interpret laws, manage contracts, answer calls/emails, etc.

Federal workers do have very generous benefits. These are a product of many, many things coming down from Capitol Hill. Trump can't do much about decades of momentum and inertia and laws. The rules are what the rules are. Remote work (1) expanded hiring outside of D.C., (2) served to reduce the influence of sympathetic (blue) voters in D.C. and shifted many to lower cost locations (lower pay too), and (3) affected mundane life planning decisions that were made in good faith.

I know a guy who is a federal employee, a military veteran, an open Trump supporter, and who has four young children. He is also a fully remote worker who set up his child management system with his working wife based on remote work. Return to work stands to have unintended and undesirable outcomes when viewed case-by-case.

gadfly: DNA as XX or XY is set at conception. There can be no conception unless that absolute 'decision' is made from the very start. Upon conception, there is about a 99% chance that the fertilized embryo will follow the standard male/female development path.

Sex = a biological absolute. Most people are XX or XY, and a tiny, tiny, tiny handful are intersex.

Natural physical appearance = genetics + probability + diet + environment and toxins + injuries.

Self-identification variations = anything from fashion to tradition to a response to sexual abuse by a creepy uncle, etc.

Like the charts of human embryos going through stages of development that include a fish and a bird first produced by the Darwinist Ernst Haeckel in the 1800s that I remember still seeing over a century later, the myth that all human embryos are female just won't die. As explained in this research summary all embryos develop the precursors to *both* sets of adult sexual organs. The myth appears to be a corruption of the theory that female was the default result unless further hormonal development caused the elimination of the female precursors and continued development of male adult sex organs. This appears not to be the case, and development of adult sex is more likely a complex interplay of proteins and hormones that cause the elimination of the opposite precursor and adult development based on the XX or XY chromosomes.

Of course, this information won't stop know-nothing liberals from creating just-so stories about their pseudo-intelligence in an attempt to sooth their chapped asses as Trump and the GOP return us to reasonable thinking that aligns with actual science.

The wealthy urban left became the petty aristocracy over a couple generations, and they want a low-cost servant class. They want cheap yard care, child care, transit, construction, clerks, restaurants, maintenance, and farming. Recent immigrants are used to fill these roles, as slavery was abolished. Many immigrants also depend on government programs, guaranteeing votes for the elected people who fund the programs.

The litmus test in blue states may be driver's licenses and state IDs: If they are offered to illegal/undocumented persons, then the state's voting process must require an ID showing citizenship status. If not, the intent to cheat is proven.
