"A lawyer from one of Manhattan’s most prominent law firms will lead the appeal of President Trump’s criminal conviction...."
"The participation of the lawyer, Robert Giuffra Jr., a co-chair of Sullivan & Cromwell and one of New York’s better-known appellate lawyers.... underscores how New York’s legal power players have warmed to the president. Mr. Trump was spurned by lawyers from major firms when he left office four years ago, but his second victory has brought about a sea change.... 'President Donald J. Trump’s appeal is important for the rule of law, New York’s reputation as a global business, financial and legal center, as well as for the presidency and all public officials,' Mr. Giuffra said in a statement. 'The misuse of the criminal law by the Manhattan D.A. to target President Trump sets a dangerous precedent.'"

Now they finally realized that Trump won't be the only one shafted by NY and NYC Democrats. If trump beats this, they will also avoid this.
The Bulwark keeps up the walls are closing in on Trump title coverage, if you're missing it.
Also Harry Litman with crazy eyes.
Hell, I could get that case reversed.
Bob "Gold Bar" Menendez was onboard with Trump and claimed that our justice system is rigged after he learned of his 11 year sentence today. Who will lead his appeal?
I'm sure it has *absolutely nothing* to do with the cynical pursuit of prestige, suitable for preening.
Side note: I worked there, long ago.
Side note: So did Louis Auchincloss, maybe at about the same time. Was he one of the naughty ones?
Side note: So did the Dulles brothers. Is this blog another CIA front?
After what the Democrats and the neocons did to Trump's impeachment lawyer, paupered him for a few comments, searched his home and seized all of his phones and computers, prolly to find out what he had on Biden, this is a nice change.
I imagine they have many clients that could face similar “fraud” charges for NDAs if this is allowed to stand. It may not be “election interference”, but then we don’t know if that was the unanimous verdict of the jury either. It could be any other law they imagine broken, except the notion he did it to protect his marriage.
Maybe floating the idea of an Adams dismissal is a bargaining chip to get the NYS authorities to step back from Trump? I'm not up on my New York state politics. Is Adams part of the Dem machine, or has he gone completely off the reservation? I know obviously the Biden staff don't like him, but do the local pols? Adams has blamed the prosecutors and judges for being soft on crime, but that could just be performative wink-wink nudge-nudge.

So, Trump hired the law firm where AA started out in legal practice in NYC so many years ago?
It's about time. I can't understand why the entire corporate-law bar of New York State wouldn't be doing this as a major pro bono project. These manufactured show trials on the most novel and flimsy of pretexts would be terrible for the New York business climate if they had only happened to a gas station owner in Poughkeepsie.
Enlisting the entire justice system of the state to do it to a billionaire and former President is orders of magnitude worse. What businessman thinking of expanding in New York would feel confident that he could avoid being next if he didn't kiss the Democrat ring?
The icing on the cake is the way it was trumpeted beforehand by the AG and applauded afterwards by the Governor, both of whom proudly gave deeply disturbing statements effectively admitting that they were deliberately inventing crimes to hang on a disfavored man, rather than charging a man for actual crimes that harmed actual victims. This is undiluted 200-proof tyranny. Such people are more evil enemies of the Republic than ten thousand Trumps could ever be.
I hope that the consequences of these Chekist show trials are apocalyptically harmful to the State of New York in general and the Democrat Party in particular. I will not inquire too deeply into the particulars of Trump's justifiable revenge on them. I want them to suffer such damage that they are effectively bankrupted and destroyed.
The perpetrators who conspired to misuse the powers of government in this fashion deserve to have their decapitated heads mounted on spikes on the second-floor façade of the Empire State Building, but I am a reasonable man and will settle for ten or twenty years in prison for each of them.
Hassayamper at 6:58 pm - I agree. The shortsidedness of the charges is sufficient, they aren't looking at the collateral damage to New York's business reputation. "If they can do this to Trump they can do it to me. Why hold me hostage to whatever political whim may cross their minds when I can be safely elsewhere?"
To add to my 7:24 comment - since much is done online, the NYSE could relocate to Muskegon and not miss a beat. The bars and restaurants would follow, and housing would be much cheaper.
What did muskegon do to deserve that
Better late than never. Profiles in legal courage.
The entire NY corporate bar should have attacked this insanity loudly and forcefully long ago, instead of swaying with the political breeze. Maybe too much to ask for.
As a signal of how the world has changed, though, it's a good thing.
Or what Hassayamper said...
Trump ought to have used Bushby Palmer Root Ballantine and Woods
Law firms often have a lot of Jews. I think many people underestimate how much Jews moved to the right because of the DNC support of Hamas.
"I worked there" Really? You are so ingrained in a classroom setting, I can't picture you in any other environment.
Of course they hired you
Elite Elite Elite
Well! The foot is on the other hand now!
