Count the many emotions that cross Trump's face in a few seconds.

Let the actors cast to play Trump in future movies study this clip and despair.

I think it's cool that Trump is visiting France for the unavailing of the newly and beautifully restored Notre Dame. Bravo. We have a real president again.

(as apposed to the old mob-ruled crap weasel & liar who falls asleep on camera after forking over more American tax dollars.... without our permission.)

Well, perfect imitation is all fine, well, and good but pretty much any actor worth his salt will be able to conjure up a frown, wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command.

A Ukrainian on Twitter couldn't help noticing that Trump not only met with Macron and Zelenskyy in Paris, he wore a blue suit and yellow tie to the photo opportunity (link). Doesn't he normally wear a red tie? (You can see the yellow tie in Ann's video, but I think the black suit is an overcoat, with the blue jacket underneath.)

Those who hope, or fear, that Trump's going to cut off all aid to Ukraine on January 20th and let Putin keep the territory he stole, with the millions of hostages living there, may want to wait and see. The fact that he's met with Zelenskyy more times than any other foreign leader is another clue.

Interesting that Macron gave him the head of state treatment. Remember how the media told us the European leaders didn't get along with him.

I had no idea the French had adopted the German Christmas Tree. When did that happen?

Got to be a FARA violation in there somewhere, right?

The video of Trump and Macron reminds me of the late-in-the-campaign clips from Senators Baldwin, Casey, etc. that almost pleaded "Please don't throw me out of office, I can be friends with Trump!"

Macron, like Trudeau in Canada, may both be cleaning out their desks in the coming weeks. Good riddance!

Dispair or datpair?

Dixcus said...

Note the "bring in" power handshake, where he pulls Macron's arm practically off.

That's an Alpha male showing a Beta what a man is.

Dixcus said...

Probably about the same time they imported all those terrorists.

That was before Joe Biden bombed Germany's natural gas pipelines and put them back in the 15th Century.

You know who else visited Paris to sight-see historic places? Hitler!!!!

Yancey Ward said...

On a serious note- I haven't seen Trump's hair that white before.

NT Dave said...

I noticed it too, think it looks good.

Thanks, exhelodrvr1

@ Dixcus: That would do it.

Which names will Trump remember after the flight home?

Well done Macron for inviting Trump and Zelensky for the reopening of Norte Dame. A masterful act of diplomacy in an otherwise puerile political world. If Macron can turn that to an opportunity, that would be a masterpiece.

As an aside, it’s truly remarkable how quickly Paris has been able to restore the Notre Dame.

France does infrastructure projects very well -- rail, nuclear and this reconstruction are all evidence of that.

In diplomacy as in business, some relationships are unpleasant but necessary.

Dr Weevil said...

What is the evidence that any of these three men finds it "unpleasant" to meet with either of the other two?

Yancey Ward said...

Yeah, only cost almost 1 billion dollars, too. Cheap.

Quaestor said...

Three?

What is that repeated off-camera word, "vee"? Short for visage? It would make sense that photographers would ask to see Trump and Macron's faces.

Dr Weevil said...

Sorry, I was thinking of the subsequent meeting between Trump, Macron, and Zelenskyy, linked in my comment below. It's a broader question, but still a good one, and you can ask the narrower version of my question about these two: what is the evidence that either of them found their meeting "unpleasant"?

NorthOfTheOneOhOne said...

Well beats Biden going over. He'd be saying; "Notre Dame? What time do they kickoff?"

Narayanan said...

Why not dispair >>>> disparity

W NC should call them

That’s what I saw as well. One of them needs the other, the other doesn’t.

President Trump looks ill at-ease and his hair looks white. The events of July 13 have taken a toll.

I think Trump looks good for what has happened to him in the past year. He does seem more serious, but he has a lot to accomplish in a short time.

Joe Bar said...

Doctor Jill made the trip, instead.

I like that little side-to-side head bump he does at the beginning.

It appears French took Xmas tree from German speaking Alsatians long ago.

But Trump didn't come in a tank (he didn't HAVE TO).

Readering said...

I don't often speak of Trump this way, but I think it's cool that he made the trip to Paris. He had been POTUS when the tragic fire happened, and it's fitting he's there when the magnificent repairs are solemnized. I think it's a pity Pope Francis judged he would distract by his own presence.

Readering said...

But Musk there, not Melania?

What impresses me is that the Frogs seem to have "restored" the ancient church, not "improved" it. I assume there's some modern engineering involved, but it's not obvious.

But no, DJT really is that much of a clown.

There seems to be a lot of fantasizing about handshakes in these comments. Well, I guess he could be on a par with the CIA poring over all the old Soviet newsreels for hints of the Soviet policy. Geez.

I see Kremlinology is back in vogue. It was interesting to watch the interactions between Trump and the various officials and public figures. It's very clear that he was the center of attention, aside from the cathedral itself, of course. Prince William seemed particularly cordial.

Godfather. I read that the masons and carpenters took great pains to replicate exactly what the medievil craftsmen did including their mistakes.

Well done, Fruit Bat! Very funny. Still, we need the sculptor to well those passions read—this is the actor or imitator, no? Who must be extraordinary.
