Agreed!
In high school bands we played in we always felt the JOY!

The Who, from "Substitute" on, were rooted in pure youth energy.

Today's world may face many problems, but a shortage of gifted young musicians isn't one of them. This was outstanding, and I'm not surprised a bit. All the best to these youngsters.

A mostly faithful cover very well done. I also approve!

Wow.

That was great! Especially the solos at the end, that piano player is going places and the lead guitarists solo was equally good.

Roger Daltrey looks like the kindly old man you would find in a novel by Dickens--the kind of guy who would give Pip an extra serving of mutton and some gentle words. So far as I know, he's the only old British rock star who has achieved Dickenesque stature, but there might be others. It is almost certainly not a grooming technique.

Narciso: "One of the few rebels in the music business left."

Such a rebel that he's gone to the other end of the horseshoe and become a rightie! When the left has captured the institutions, the only rebellion left is to become a conservative.

Would be a bigger Who tribute if the video then showed the kids popping pills and shagging each other like the ones in Quadrophenia....

Unfortunately for this lot, it's probably more like Adderall, college admissions essays, and maybe a quick wank to some online porn before collapsing into nightmares of not even making salutatorian....

One of those songs I’ve always thought un-coverable because any attempt to do so will be a pitiable shadow of the original. But that was pretty freakin’ great. Loved the way they interpreted the electric violin part.

All great but exceptional vocals for their age. Nice accompaniment to the pumpkin pie…

Ringo's son is not as crazy, but as good a drummer IMHO.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing! Happy TG to you and yours and to all who read and comment on the blog!

That was enjoyable. I always enjoy watching musicians playing real instruments and singing without autotune.

Teenage wasteland, it's only teenage wasteland.
Teenage wasteland, oh, yeah.
Teenage wasteland.
They're all wasted.

This song will be sung for many generations!

That was a nice effort by the young kids. The Who were a bit before me, so did not know that song. Not bad!

What a voice!

phantommut said...

Correction: What voices! Jeez, they're good.

Hmm. I wonder if they also thought about covering "Won't Get Fooled Again"?

I find the poses and grimacing amusing - all learned behavior.

Winning comment by far, Fritz.

The guitarist and the pianist both have really distinctive "voices" with their playing. Top tier talents.

That was great. I'm a sucker for this type of stuff. Check out Tommy Shaw and Styx with the Cleveland Youth Orchestra. Also loved 11 year old Nandi playing with Foo Fighters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsDgrKdczAE
