Saw my Vietnamese Doc again today.

He said he had been treating a lot of patients for depression…because of the election results.

I laughed. Then after thinking a minute I asked if he was serious. He said yes. He related that one woman had to be restrained. Another asked to be sent to an inpatient treatment center.

Good grief. Guess I may refrain from wearing my MAGA hat, didn’t realize how many lunatics are still out there.

I'm not sure I'd be comfortable going to a doctor who talks about other patients. No matter what the cause.

Jim, I love him. He keeps me healthy. Just after the election he asked me if I voted red(he knew I did). I said yes, he said, "My work is completed, I kept you alive until you voted." He's a hoot. We have a great relationship, many primary doctors now days are too busy to forge good relationships with their patients.

The media in the United States has a business model and it's this:

Keep people hyped up in a sense of constant panic, or they won't stay glued to the television 24 hours a day. They'll go out and do other things. Our ratings will suffer.

They don't care if they're making half the country mentally ill. That's even BETTER for them and the advertisers who support media companies like NBC, CNN, CBS, etc.

It's BAD for America. It's a tort. And we should sue to get their broadcast licenses revoked.

Look at all these cool bot links littering the countryside so bad it would make an Indian chief upon his horse cry.

Donald Trump, not even President yet, is announcing agreements he has negotiated with Mexican's weirdly Jewish President ... how the hell did the Jews conquer Mexico without anybody noticing ... to staunch the flow of Biden's illegal alien invasion on our Southern border. Trump threatened to, I don't know, start charging people extra for tacos or something and this broad immediately caved.

,... Anyhoo ... no word yet on whether the DOJ will indict Trump on Logan Act charges for conducting foreign policy as a private citizen.

I'm guessing John Kerry is urging them not to.

My mother bought us our first television, a 13" color TV CRT on sale for $299 when our eldest was born. When she realized we didn't have one- and she was addicted to Dallas... A few years back we bought a 70" TV for about $399 after my daughter's 20% off on one purchase when she worked at Wallyworld. Just before the Black Friday ads appeared- it started showing lines at the bottom and a narrow band on the right was blank...

Inflation adjusted that $299 is now over $1100 according to online inflation calculators. With housing and chocolate bars- probably more than that. My new 85" TV, put up today with help from my son-in-law, was $985.99 with tax. And because I used the warehouse clubs, charge card- that I pay in full every month to avoid interest- I'm getting 15% back in reward money to spend on food and staples I normally buy there.

It's weird how inflation works and is calculated. Food, energy, housing, staples like toilet paper, have gone up by an incredible amount. Televisions and electronics- down by an incredible amount with better products... And communications down by a lot. IIRC, about $20 a month in 1978 for one line, connected to the house. Only place you could send and receive calls. And on top of that long distance, which for us averaged over $50 a month since we were on one coast and both our families on the other. I'm now paying $110 a month for 3 lines, can send and receive calls anywhere, anytime, get messages at any time, and browse the internet and/or play games. Inflation adjusted, a lot less money.

Aside from that, after mounting the TV he left for home. And we finished making tomorrow's dinner- the turkey was already in the oven when he arrived. We're providing the turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, mashed rutabaga, and cranberry sauce. They're throwing some pies in the oven for after the main course. They're dealing with newborn twins, so we figured getting it done in advance would be easier all around.
