"Last week, I took a bullet for democracy."

Said Donald Trump at his rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan just now.

If you think his convention speech went long, this speech was half an hour longer. It clocked in at two hours.


The speech wasn't just long. He was talking quite fast. Fast and crisply enunciated. Strong. I had the feeling maybe the brush with death had heightened his sense that he needs to compress his energy and do more and more. At the end, when it was time to walk out, he seemed to want to linger, as if the rally was life itself, and he didn't want to leave.

If Donald Trump were dead right now, which the Secret Service tried to LET HAPPEN by watching this shooter take 8 shots before Jack Ruby'ing him ... the streets would be running red. Their convention center would have been burnt to the ground with all of them in it.

Because they'd been tipped off by their co-conspirators in the Democrat Party that planned Donald Trump's assassination that they should cover that one live. MSNBC also covered it live. Only one MSNBC has ever covered live.

They tried to murder Donald Trump, on live television. And they think they are going to get away with it, too.

Not as long as Edward Everett’s speeches.

I personally don’t care for a long speech. But one thing Trump is doing, regardless of the content of his speeches, is proving that he has 100x the energy and stamina that Biden has. And while Trump has a stream of consciousness style, he’s not interrupting himself, slurring his words, or losing his train of thought. The contrast with Biden is immense.

I was watching Fox, but they cut away, so I went to a streaming site and they had two cameras, one on the audience. There were a lot of SS agents. Big, burly ones.

The Biden Administration will average the number of agents at the two events and claim they're providing exceptional protection.

Is that actually true? I've seen this claim on X a lot, but I don't watch CNN, so I have no idea how much coverage they've been giving, or how much they gave on 7/13.

I've been dismissing claims like this, and the ones about large companies shorting Trump on the betting markets the day before the shooting, because they are factual claims that can be checked and none of the big pro-Trump voices have been mentioning them.

At least it was free. And late Saturday afternoon doesn’t have much else to watch. So it was risk golf on a rain stormy day or clean up the house. I’ll take Mellow Trump on TV in Michigan. It’s 3 more weeks to pre-season NFL. Dead air. Sunday comes in the morning.

The wife loves watching Taylor Swift stuff on youtube, especially the 22 Hat part. Either that or lost dogs and cute cats. Can’t wait for football season and a crazy SEC season.

Wife and I watched the convention speech on YouTube. We zoned out when it went into the typical stump speech. Besides the standard discussion of policy, what we mostly got out of it is the foolishness of suggesting Trump is as mentally disabled as Biden. Otherwise, I'm back to not listening to politicians. Action matters, and I've seen Trump in action as President for 4 years. He has my vote.

The only thing that has changed is the depths Democrats will go to win. Investigations are needed.

When he wasn't outright lying when he contended that Mexico and France caved in the face of his brilliant bullying, was outright delusional. He is just making this shit up (or worse yet, he believes it actually happened)

I couldn't even keep up with all the outright lies, distortions, and absolute batshit crazy things he said.

No one can speak extemporaneously like Trump. It's an amazing performance and his fans love it. It fills the arena. And what I was seeing is that he himself loves to be the man in the arena.

Unlike many people, Donald Trump thrives on stress.
Donald Trump requires human contact, someone to talk to. He would talk to a fire hydrant if it was the only audience.
He is the greatest American showman since PT Barnum.

If electing Trump as president again results in even half the benefits gained from his being president the first time, that would be a significant improvement over where we are today. If Trump wants to pat himself on the back for getting good things done for all those people who've been ignored by the Uniparty for so long, I'm okay with that.

Yes I did. It was painful but I felt like I had to do it because I knew you and others would defend the awful speech. When he wasn't vastly exaggerating his own accomplishments and lying about how bad things are under Biden (especially about crime), he was just recycling his same old batshit crazy stories.

Do me one favor (actually anyone here can do it), tell me what the hell the point of the story about the sinking electric boat and the shark is about.
