In the area where we live, an average house typically costs $1.5-2 million dollars. And the seller has to pay 5-6% of the sales price to the realtors. That is $80,000 to $120,000 payment to the minimum work done by the realtors of both the buyer and the seller. When it comes to realtors, never have so many been paid so much for doing so little.

Thanks Crack. I watched a number of that professors clips. He's very data driven, especially regarding Black lives matter and the DC High School kid MAGA hat incident. He talks about media narratives that intentionally divide people into camps.
The Arab-Israeli War of 1948 broke out when five Arab nations invaded territory in the former Palestinian mandate immediately following the announcement of the independence of the state of Israel on May 14, 1948. In 1947, and again on May 14, 1948, the United States had offered de facto recognition of the Israeli Provisional Government, but during the war, the United States maintained an arms embargo against all belligerents. Raising the Flag signified the Conclusion of the Conflict
On November 29, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 181 (also known as the Partition Resolution) that would divide Great Britain’s former Palestinian mandate into Jewish and Arab states in May 1948. Under the resolution, the area of religious significance surrounding Jerusalem would remain under international control administered by the United Nations. The Palestinian Arabs refused to recognize this arrangement, which they regarded as favorable to the Jews and unfair to the Arab population that would remain in Jewish territory under the partition. The United States sought a middle way by supporting the United Nations resolution, but also encouraging negotiations between Arabs and Jews in the Middle East.
The United Nations resolution sparked conflict between Jewish and Arab groups within Palestine. Fighting began with attacks by irregular bands of Palestinian Arabs attached to local units of the Arab Liberation Army composed of volunteers from Palestine and neighboring Arab countries. These groups launched their attacks against Jewish cities, settlements, and armed forces. The Jewish forces were composed of the Haganah, the underground militia of the Jewish community in Palestine, and two small irregular groups, the Irgun, and LEHI. The goal of the Arabs was initially to block the Partition Resolution and to prevent the establishment of the Jewish state. The Jews, on the other hand, hoped to gain control over the territory allotted to them under the Partition Plan.
After Israel declared its independence on May 14, 1948, the fighting intensified with other Arab forces joining the Palestinian Arabs in attacking territory in the former Palestinian mandate. On the eve of May 14, the Arabs launched an air attack on Tel Aviv, which the Israelis resisted. This action was followed by the invasion of the former Palestinian mandate by Arab armies from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Egypt. Saudi Arabia sent a formation that fought under the Egyptian command. British trained forces from Transjordan eventually intervened in the conflict, but only in areas that had been designated as part of the Arab state under the United Nations Partition Plan and the corpus separatum of Jerusalem. After tense early fighting, Israeli forces, now under joint command, were able to gain the offensive.
Though the United Nations brokered two cease-fires during the conflict, fighting continued into 1949. Israel and the Arab states did not reach any formal armistice agreements until February. Under separate agreements between Israel and the neighboring states of Egypt, Lebanon, Transjordan, and Syria, these bordering nations agreed to formal armistice lines. Israel gained some territory formerly granted to Palestinian Arabs under the United Nations resolution in 1947. Egypt and Jordan retained control over the Gaza Strip and the West Bank respectively. These armistice lines held until 1967. The United States did not become directly involved with the armistice negotiations, but hoped that instability in the Middle East would not interfere with the international balance of power between the Soviet Union and the United States.
Rich, I was a 6% real estate agent for a couple of years long ago. It may be different in your area, but there is no law that prevents a homeowner from selling without the aid of an agent and saving all the money. FSBO-For Sale By Owner. It's so common that you can buy FSBO signs at Home Depot, and then make all the arrangements for financing, inspections, and closings yourself.
In some cases a real estate agent representing a buyer will approach a seller, but insist on a 3% commission to bring an offer. All legal. As is the seller and buyer doing a deal on their own and cutting out the agent--who may have shown the buyer five suitable homes already, with the investment of time that represents.
Things have changed a lot in 40 years, but in my day the really successful agents worked their asses off. (I didn't, and wasn't.)
Between the cause of the 1947 war between Arabs and Jews and the record of Jewish migration into Palestine between 1890-1947 from a combination of Pogroms and the Holocaust coupled with the Immigration act of 1924
The law sharply curtailed emigration from countries that were previously host to the vast majority of the Jews in the U.S., almost 75% of whom emigrated from Russia alone.[48] Because Eastern European immigration did not become substantial until the late 19th century, the law's use of the population of the U.S. in 1890 as the basis for calculating quotas effectively made mass migration from Eastern Europe, where the vast majority of the Jewish diaspora lived at the time, impossible.[49][50] In 1929, the quotas were adjusted to one-sixth of 1% of the 1920 census figures, and the overall immigration limit reduced to 150,000.[14][51][42] The law was not modified to aid the flight of Jewish refugees in the 1930s or 1940s despite the rise of Nazi Germany.[c][d] The quotas were adjusted to allow more Jewish refugees after World War II, but without increasing immigration overall.[51]
What business was it of Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia if the demographics of territory that none of them had controlled in historical times (if ever) changed in favor of one group of indigenes over another?
I think they were all just Islamic Jew-hating assholes.

Yes. He's as crazy as a shithouse rat.
He despises successful blacks a hundred times more than he does ordinary whites, because the former utterly falsify his "reasons" for wallowing in resentment and self-pity.
I'm not here trying to convince you of anything, Crack. I'm trying to understand where you are coming from. I'll research these two issues further. Thanks.
It'll probably be a while because I am going to visit my Israeli friends over the weekend. I'm sure this topic will come up.
I honestly do not care about the details of the founding of Israel. Who "started it", who was wronged simply do not matter to me. Life among us humans is often unjust and brutal, but you can't go back in time and right all wrongs. I look at the current situation as it actually exists. Israel exists, and it is not going to commit collective suicide to mollify the Arabs. The Arabs seem to be wholly committed to the eradication of Israel and the Jews. This is unfortunate. Since it seems we must pick a side to win in a war of total destruction, the choice is very easy for me. I will always side with the Jews because they are, for all their many human faults, civilized and humane. No one expects anything but the most vile behavior from the so-called Palestinians, but they demand everything from the Israelis because they know in their hearts which group can be expected to moderate their actions. THAT, my friends, is the real demonstration of racism here. Talk about the not so soft bigotry of low expectations. The Palestinians can't be faulted for wanton rape, torture and murder, while the Israelis are expected to provide food water and electricity to their enemies. That tells the story of how the world sees the Palestinians. They are viewed as unaccountable animals.
"I honestly do not care about the details of the founding of Israel. Who "started it", who was wronged simply do not matter to me."
That's why white people are hated. You are as comfortable with crime as any Crip or Blood terrorizing ghetto communities. And then you wonder why we have gangsters the way we do. They are following your immoral example. But, of course, you don't care who "started it."
Acording to the, "Wooly Caterpillar", school of meteorology, based on my limited siting of the little buggers. Who are NOT zionists, by the way. We are in for another mild winter. I've seen some with no black at all. Judging from last winter. It will be a long winter but without the brutal cold. Wooly caterpillars are not capable of lying.
"I’m entirely uninterested in winning your approval Crack. I know how you feel, and i don’t care even a little bit."
Unfortunately, you seem to be under the distinct impression - repeatedly - that I am dying to hear what you have to say, when I'm just waiting for news that you died. I can see my post now:
Good ol' "Old and slow" - it's about fucking time,...
"And I hope that you die And your death will come soon I'll follow your casket On a pale afternoon I'll watch while you're lowered Down to your deathbed And I'll stand over your grave 'Til I'm sure that you're dead"
"I seem to be the only person who was genuinely moved when Gahrie died"
I believe it was Jamie who knew Gahrie/Gary in real life. Judging by words on a page, which is all we hear except Althouse and Meade have, she struck me as genuinely moved.
You decided to "correct" me to point out one person? Really? Are you insane?
Etc.
Jesus, Crack. You were the one who said "I seem to be the only person" who was moved when my friend in real life, my former debate opponent and fellow high school thespian, dance partner to the liquid strains of the tail end of Chicago's musical career, Model United Nations buddy (who was entirely pro-Palestinian back in the day, until the intifada showed him that the Palestinians had no desire for a two-state solution, as he told us all here, but with whom I had many conversations on the topic as kids), Gary Kirby, died. You can feel what you feel for "Gahrie," but don't you dare claim I don't mourn my friend Gary. Normally you don't have the ability actually to make me angry, but this is personal. Shut up.
I'm going to leave my previous post up because, let's not mince words, I want to. I meant what I said and I think some calling out was warranted.
But, Crack, oldandslow, anybody else who's feeling it right now, are you ok, generally? I'm pretty much over being angry and affronted, but I'm a little worried about the atmosphere, you know? My personal pollyanna plan is to double down on the Christian charity if I can - which doesn't mean I plan to roll over, but when I disagree I will continue to try to do so with patience (not my strong suit) and from the position that my interlocutor is writing in good faith.

Yeah: the free ride for assholes is over:

That's my new response to everything. Y'all live in a murderous dreamworld.

No. It still works that way.

That's why white people are hated. You are as comfortable with crime as any Crip or Blood terrorizing ghetto communities. And then you wonder why we have gangsters the way we do. They are following your immoral example. But, of course, you don't care who "started it."
Because it's always been you.
Crack the Sad Sack.
I’m entirely uninterested in winning your approval Crack. I know how you feel, and i don’t care even a little bit.

Unfortunately, you seem to be under the distinct impression - repeatedly - that I am dying to hear what you have to say, when I'm just waiting for news that you died. I can see my post now:
Good ol' "Old and slow" - it's about fucking time,...
"And I hope that you die
And your death will come soon
I'll follow your casket
On a pale afternoon
I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand over your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead"

Shut up.
Thanks, Kate.
Boy, this thread got dark awfully fast.
