Jamaica Plain residents are demanding a fenced-in dog park after three pooches were poisoned by “drug-contaminated human waste” while out for a walk. As for overdose deaths, the statistics remain grim with fatalities climbing 2.5% year-over-year in Massachusetts. Boston leads all cities and towns with the number of deaths per year.

What did Sen. Bob Menendez DO, to get himself in this trouble??
They say he was taking HUGE bribes, from foreign countries..
BUT HE IS A DEMOCRAT.. There is NO LAW against Democrats taking bribes from foreign countries..
So, WHO did he piss off SO BAD, that the FBI is treating him like he was NOT a democrat party member?

The favorite in-house (alleged) conservative of the New York Times tweeted a picture of a simple hamburger and fries, and captioned it that this simple repast came to $78 in Newark Airport. The airport restaurant provided context: 80% of the bill (actually, 78%) was his bar tab. The burger and fries apparently cost $17 (which is still pretty pricey!) and the rest of the bill was for alcohol. That’s quite a number of top shelf drinks — is he just that afraid of flying? Or is it a consequence of his having to rub shoulders with potential Trump voters there in the concourse?

Today it came out that Ivanka Trump made a very quiet trip to Maui a few weeks ago to help the residents of Lahaina who have been devastated by the wildfires. She joined the charity CityServe International on a humanitarian mission, an organization she has worked with for four years now. While she was there Ivanka helped distribute 250,000 prepackaged meals for displaced residents. She hid her identity by being casually dressed, and her name tag simply read “Iva”.

The group distributed food, water, locally-grown produce, gift cards, and other needed supplies to displaced families and individuals living in hotels. They are also providing gas cards and air filters. An extra bonus is that Ivanka was able to use her connections to get other companies to donate goods, because this coming week a 747 filled with $1 million worth of supplies will head toward Maui with ebikes, electric scooters, electronics, toys, dry foods, small appliances, ukuleles, and several pallets of Jockey clothing – ‘all because of a Ivanka’s connection,’ according to CityServe. She could have just written a check and gone about her life in Miami, but she set out to make a personal impact. And most importantly, she made the trip with CityServe without fanfare.

Note to Oprah and to Dwayne (“The Rock”) Johnson — this is how you do it.

Not original with me but worth repeating. Sixty-seven years before the Democrat mob set out to declare Russell Brand guilty in response to allegations that have not yet even resulted in charges, much less a finding of guilty, there was another person who was the target of a Democrat mob based on vague, unsubstantiated and unadjudicated allegations. His name was Emmett Till.

The head of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) is now running for president. PAAU led an action at a late-term abortion clinic in 2020. It was non-violent but when Biden came to power the prolifers were charged with felonies under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE) and with civil rights violations. They were convicted by a DC jury which included Planned Parenthood and abortion supporters. As we know the country is divided 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans but the Civil Service which is forbidden to hire based on political outlook is, in DC, is 95% composed of supporters of the Democratic party. The means by which this result was achieved cannot be legal but anyhow, there it is and this led to a tainted jury pool. And now the non-violent prolifers, who were scooped up and shipped off to prison as soon as the trials ended a few weeks ago, sit in jail cells, facing a possible eleven years in prison. But young people can be so surprising. The head of PAAU met the situation by entering the Presidential race in September of 2023 - her argument being that the Dem party is 20% prolife and the Dem prolifers should have voice. Perhaps she noted how well people understand the concept of political show trials in the case of Trump. Perhaps, being young, she has a feel for deep-flowing currents among the Dem young as they look at the Dem gerontocracy and at the Dem Senator from Out-of-Shape-Clown and the Representative from PornHub. Some go toward Trump and the Republicans but others who stay Dem are just silent. So far. Voiceless. So far. A bit like the unborn, in fact, so it's natural that someone concerned about the killing of the unborn might have feel for the silent, ignored young Dems.

I reviewed an old Bloggingheads video of our host and Goldberg, concerning Palin's memoir way back when. At one point, when asked by Althouse (at a suggestion from someone here - I'd love to know who) how many fact checkers had reviewed Obama's memoir, Goldberg said the answer was probably none, since Obama wasn't known for lying the way Palin was, and btw, "reality has a liberal bias."

I found that statement... surprising, given how rarely reality meets "liberal" expectations. It's hard for me to believe she really believed what she said, but I do try to give people the benefit of the doubt when they say what they think.

In this case, what I came away from was, "Here is a person who's so blind to get own biases that she honestly believes she doesn't have any." It went along well with her pathetic debate performance against Matt Taibbi and Douglas Murray in the Munk Debates. (Gladwell was more pathetic in that debate, but not by a lot.)

Incidentally - I think this was the first time I'd heard our host speak, and I was gratified that she was just as articulate and, frankly, devastating on the fly as she is in writing. Half of me wishes I'd had the experience of having her as a prof, and the other half is glad I'm here only in my actual commenting capacity.

Matt Taibbi is researching a book...

In Matt's own words: "A mystery of the digital censorship era is the ease with which its core ideas have been sold to people who were its fiercest initial opponents. The closer you look at mechanisms now used to isolate, remove, disrupt, and spy on everyone from environmentalists to antiwar activists to anti-mandate or anti-lockdown protesters, the more easily you’ll see a direct line to high-profile civil liberties controversies of two decades ago. The modern Internet surveillance state was born in programs bitterly opposed then by left-leaning intellectuals, of the type who subscribed to The Nation and carried NO BLOOD FOR OIL signs while protesting war in Iraq.

I’d like to talk to these people now."

“I don’t have too much respect for people that are misbehaving in public and acting like they know what’s right for kids.”

Who are the “people” he is talking about? Does he mean parents? Apparently Secretary Cardona and the rest of the Biden administration have forgotten that two years ago Glenn Youngkin, Winsome Sears, and Jason Miyares ran the table on Terry McAuliffe and the Democrats after McAuliffe said “I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach” during a debate with Youngkin.

So keep it up, Democrats. Keep telling parents that now that they have no role in them education of their children. See how far that gets you.

Scouts of the Russian Armed Forces destroyed a Leopard tank transferred to Ukraine with an entirely German crew consisting of servicemen of the German Armed Forces.

“When we stopped their “meat” assault and captured Leopard, we moved towards the burnt equipment in the hope of taking the “talker”. And we discovered that the tank driver was seriously wounded, and the rest died. The mechanic, when he woke up and saw us, began shouting “nicht shissen” (don’t shoot. - Ed.)," said the group commander.

The driver of the damaged tank said several times that he was not a mercenary, but a Bundeswehr soldier and the entire crew from one company.

This is a lot more serious of an incident than first meets the eye, as German regular army soldiers are killing Russians in Eastern Europe once more.

It will be interesting to see if the Russians actually produce this prisoner, if NATO soldiers are really in combat right now, for now it's just a claim by the Russians. However; in the influential magazine "Foreign Policy" is an editorial calling for the deployment of "US advisors" to Ukraine. Joe Biden as LBJ? Sounds about right. The Ukrainians are getting the snot kicked out of them, and we are getting desperate, so naturally, we raise the stakes.

Taibbi wants to ask them why, and pointing out hypocrisies like these is a cardinal sin in these modern times. The Narrative must never be discussed, because it might lead to having to defend bad ideas, an uncomfortable and potentially losing position. Far better to just shut them the hell up.

Surprise!

"The metric for views on that platform is clearly..."

....basically the same metric (impression) as Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook and Linkedin.

Youtube is the one that is different but too long to go into here.

Dumb Lefty Mark clearly is attempting to leave the impression (see what I did there?) that only X has these sorts of metric rules for determining engagement.

Its possible Dumb Lefty Mark is just that dumb and doesn't know what he is saying, but its more likely Dumb Lefty Mark is simply being his typically mendacious lefty little brain self and fulfilling his daily anti-Musk posting requirements with misleading info.

FYI: Recall that according to Dumb Lefty Mark, Threads, which also operates on impression counts exactly as does Instagram and facebook, was supposed to already have killed off X!

Dumb Lefty Mark is all over the field now and desperately seeking another kitchen sink to toss into the mix!

LOL

Lets break it down:

Dumb Lefty Mark: "2 seconds of viewing on X wins a participation trophy."

2 seconds of viewing wins a "participation trophy" at instagram, facebook, Threads, linkedin, etc.

And you absolutely adore and boost Zuckerburgs media sites Threads, instagram and facebook.

So your adolescent faux outrage over X is transparently Dumb....like you.

Dumb Lefty Mark: "How's their profitability, Drago?
Down 90% in value in less than a year, or so Musk claimed when complaining about the Jews."

Profitability is way, way up from where they started 12 months ago. Going from a $3B annual loss to under $1B for the first year of X operations...and that is being artificially driven in the short term by political actors.

Is Dumb Lefty Mark capable of calculating the profitability improvement over the first 12 months of Musk ownership?

No! Because he is...well...(no real way to avoid this, is there?)...dumb.

And as to value, not a single major investor has pulled their investment...including Jack Dorsey.

Thats because they know where they are headed and where all the future pieces fit...and the value that will be generated under that vision.

But hey, what do those billionaire tech investors know?

Why arent they listening to Dumb Lefty Mark? Why arent they cutting their "losses" right now? Why arent they fleeing X in droves?

Too easy.

And, naturally, and you knew this was inevitable, Dumb Lefty Mark recycles the current Dumb Lefty antisemitism Hoax!

Because of course he did! As if the now debunked ADL driven political lies are proof of anything!

BTW, here's the link from the recent Musk-Netanyahu discussion of AI Safety.

The latest indictment of Sen. Bob Menendez (who escaped justice the last time DOJ tried to prosecute him for his corruption in 2015) almost seems like a personal challenge to Clarence Thomas, to see if there are bribes of a public official that Thomas and his cronies on the Supreme Court won’t find a way to deem constitutional.

In other words, what if Clarence and wife Ginni just happen to get a luxury car, gold bars, and an apartment on the side from one of his many “friends?” Well, we already have been shown evidence of tuition assistance, Mom's free house, his free motorhome, all those free vacations, free rides on airplanes, Ginni's Liberty Central business funding, and now exposed are the Koch Brothers "donor events" where Justice Thomas speeches provide the basis for political fundraising.
