Recently Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm set out on a road trip with EVs to highlight the way the Biden administration has been throwing money at green energy. Cue the drama and raw entitlement as her caravan collided with reality.
But between stops, Granholm's entourage at times had to grapple with the limitations of the present. Like when her caravan of EVs — including a luxury Cadillac Lyriq, a hefty Ford F-150 and an affordable Bolt electric utility vehicle — was planning to fast-charge in Grovetown, a suburb of Augusta, Georgia.
Her advance team realized there weren't going to be enough plugs to go around. One of the station's four chargers was broken, and others were occupied. So an Energy Department staffer tried parking a nonelectric vehicle by one of those working chargers to reserve a spot for the approaching secretary of energy.
That did not go down well: a regular gas-powered car blocking the only free spot for a charger?
In fact, a family that was boxed out — on a sweltering day, with a baby in the vehicle — was so upset they decided to get the authorities involved: They called the police.
Doesn't that say it all? There weren't enough chargers to deal with the demand, and they tried to block out other people to reserve a spot for Granholm at the faster charger. That screams entitlement and thinking they get to do that because of their power. When you're stealing a spot from a family with a baby, you just might be pretty scummy. They're denying a family the very service they claim to be helping to provide because the family was in the way of their PR stunt. And the Biden team did it with a vehicle that wasn't even electric.
Roving APUs for hire could solve the shortage as a stopgap. Of course they would have to run on fossil fuels or do their own quick charge at a substation.
It's 9/11. The NYPost 2 days ago had an amazing article: TWA pilot who dodged hijacked planes. His name was George, and after an astonishing bit of flying he went about his business, unrecognized.
Over on Instapundit, Sarah Hoyt is working the overnight shift and links to a synopsis and review of the latest James Bond book. The book is titled On His Majesty’s Secret Service, which invites us to compare and contrast with Ian Fleming’s original On Her Majesty’s Secret Service published in 1963. Anyway James is sent to infiltrate an organization led by a shadowy and sinister man who calls himself “Athelstan of Wessex.”
An excerpt: ”Bond was struck by something. It was a long while since he’d been at any kind of function that was almost exclusively full of men. It felt strange. There was not even a pretence at diversity here. Athelstan hadn’t been the least bit concerned about ensuring that half of the people he’d hired to carry out his coup should be women, or non-white, or disabled. This was an unapologetically old-school gathering. In Athelstan’s world he was king and could do whatever he wanted.”
Because there’s nothing more sinister than an organization that is anti-woke and lacking women, non-whites, and disabled members. Not in the UK of Charles III or the USA of Joe Biden.

Aaron Rodgers may own the Bears, but he's sublet them to Jordan Love.

Can't we just give Granholm back to Canada? Granted, they may not want her back, but it's worth a try.
According to NPR and MSNBC - none of this is real.
I liked what Queen Latifah did to the National Anthem.
