This trans thing looks to me as a definitive cultural moment.
I read any interesting piece by a Brendan O'Neill in the Spectator (link on Power Line) about this. The Left is acting like infants about this trans business. O'Neill detailed some crazy things in Australia, the crazed attacks on JK Rowling and how Judy Blume got coerced into recanting.
This is about basis biology. The Left wants us to deny that reality.
One of O'Neill's points is that the women who are pushing this trans stuff are emotional lunatics about it. They scream, cry, cancel and censor. There is a commentator here on the blog who complains about women getting the vote. The opponents said women weren't emotionally and intellectually capable to participate in public life. Women have proven that to be totally wrong. But this trans thing shows that some women aren't capable.
Senators Megan Hunt, Jen Day and M. Cavanaugh are putting on an infantile display in the Unicam because they can't block a bill that protects kids from trans surgery and drugs. Last week, M. Cavanaugh threw a crying fit on the floor of the Legislature. She has no business being in the Unicameral. She's an irrational and emotional wreck. She's stalling every single bill because she is losing on this bill.
A significant portion of our society is simply crazy. No other way to put it.

If I, a parent, am completely on the hook with the responsibilities society imposes for being a parent along with its attendant penalities, then I'm in the driver's seat vis-a-vis my control over my children. Not 90%. Not 99%. 100%.

I can't read the article. But it sounds like the typical "conservative" loser argument. I just need "consistency". I just need "Fairness". I just want "everyone to live by the same rules" I just want "To be left alone".
I call it a loser argument, because it avoids the issue, which is "Should Children be exposed to "Transgenderism" and should they be encouraged to "transition".
My position is pushing Transgenderism and even Gay sex on children is wrong. Period. I don't care whether the school tells you about it, or keeps it a secret. Children and even teenagers don't have the emotional stability and intelligence to correctly determine their sexuality. All this stuff can wait till they're adults - age 18. And schools should be concentrating on reading, writting, and rithmatic. We don't need them to our kids about sex.
If weird how all the old fogies (I knew as a kid) railing about "Sex education" have turned out to be right. I thought they were kooks, but they turned out to be Kooks who saw the future.
Transgender or masculine/feminine simulation/emulation. Parental guardians without notice. Shared responsibility.
I'd like to see the 1st family do that. Fun times. Then line up the toxic DEI wardens at the universities and let them take a turn.

The arrogance of liberal educators who have now gone so far out on a limb as to pretend children need to be protected from their parents, and work in conjunction to keep secrets from them. The effort of destroying the nuclear family is one of the cruelest things liberals promote.
Any adult that tells a child..."don't tell Mom or Dad" is sick in the head. That's what child abusers do. That's how they play with these children and live out their twisted fantasies for years...crimes from which the child will never recover. Scars carried into adulthood.

This might be funny except, let's face it, 99% of teachers already aren't really telling the parents anything about what happens at school. I guess the joke lands if your kid goes to a fancy school in England?
