Stanford wants to call Americans "US Citizens" but didn't they know that Mexico's official name is "The United States of Mexico"? So how are we supposed to know which US we are talking about?

Post 5 of 15 - Clyde's Top 10 Favorite "New" Songs of 2022
Honorable Mention #1 - East Village - Silver Train (Drop Out - 1993)

East Village were a star-crossed English indie pop band who were active from 1986-91, whose only album, 'Drop Out', came out two years after they broke up on stage in the middle of a sold-out show in London. It's a great album, one that some music reviewers consider to be a lost classic. This is the opening track and kicks things off nicely. And here they are, just missing out on my Top 10 list. Seems like the story of their lives, but they are getting some recognition here.

Great day to be out.

Hard to believe in ~24 hours we are in blizzard conditions.

Remember back in 2016, when people were called Conspiracy theorists because they could see that the Deep State was working with Obama to spy on Donald Trump?? Then the fake Russian Collusion was in the news 24/7, and John McCain gave the FBI the tainted dossier that Hillary paid for?? The lies that Brennan, Comey, Clapper, and the others told us in front of Congress. Did they get in any trouble?? Nope!!
Remember they told us that there would have to be a LOT of people involved, so there was NO WAY that it could EVER happen, because somebody would have spilled the beans??

Guess what??

It happened, and is still happening right in front of our eyes. But they still are trying to tell us not to believe our lying eyes. I can't believe that people are still asleep. I guess people like to be lied to.

Great catch.

We're all a-tizzy down here at the thought of single digit temps Thursday and Friday night (wind chills below zero) and highs in the 20s. For a few days, anyway. Pretty extreme for these parts.

Even after our experience last year I have forgotten to take the steps needed to fortify our tankless electric water heater space against the cold west wind.

Busy with that tomorrow.

A beautiful looking day! What a gift to see a bald eagle.

Here in NW Montana all the birds have taken shelter. Moderate snow right now with projections of temperature lows over the next several days. Tuesday into Wednesday morning low of minus 8 degrees and Wednesday into Thursday low of minus 15 degrees. We don't get above zero during the day until Friday. Gusty winds are also forecast making wind chill effects potentially severe. Storm is from the north so apparently we've pissed off the Canadians again.

This has to be one of the greatest stories in the annals of legal history, and I'm surprised it didn't catch your eye, Ann.

The owner of Radio City Music Hall is using facial recognition software to target New York lawyers who are suing all his companies.

He is then KICKING THEM OUT of his venues, even if they hold paid for tickets.

Which include not only Radio City Music Hall, but also Madison Square Garden, NY Knicks games, the Beacon theatre, the Wang Centre in Boston, some Vegas properties and all their other venues.

And not just the suing attorney. Any attorney in that attorney's entire FIRM is also on the KICK YOU OUT list.

Liking the cut of this billionaire's jib. He's had it with the riff-raff. Now, it's personal.

NO SOUP FOR YOU!

I see that the House Ways and Means Committee has voted to release Donald Trump's tax returns. I suppose if they can release his then they can release anyone's -- Tucker Carlson's, Ann Althouse's, anyone that the committee chooses to target in the future. Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-Mass) defended the release, insisting that “This is not about being punitive. This is not about being malicious.”

No. Of course not.

But I will be very upset if they do not release the returns for Nancy and Paul Pelosi. And Joe and Jill Biden.

Any chatter about the swastika shaped NY Times crossword puzzle? That seems like something well within this blog's wheelhouse.

Don't get too close. Like almost everything else you might do, that's a federal crime. Because you're not a federal citizen. You're a second-class, non-federal citizen.

We didn't provoke this war because we thought Russia was strong, and a threat to Europe. We provoked this war because we thought that Russia was weak. If Ronald Reagan was the man I think he was, this war would turn his stomach. Russia is not the USSR, but the US is falling into many of the traps that the USSR did.

Murkowski,

Hey Hunter's Ho, your precious Republicans are about to cut the knees out from under the new Republican House America voted in with five million more votes than the Democrats got, they are going to give Pelosi and Schumer everything they want.

Fuck them. I would vote for Bernie Sanders before I voted for some Mitch McConnell-approved sellout.

First. Tax returns are a poor document looking for corruption. All you can do is find tax fraud.

But Jim Biden's returns from about 2008 forward might show a staggering growth of income, that would be fun to talk about. And of course all of Hunters many corporations. Those requests should be made Jan 5th. Then Dems, like Swallwell, and Schiff

Mitch McConnell said, "Providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians is the number one priority for the United States right now according to most Republicans. That's how we see the challenges confronting the country at the moment."

Not protecting the border.

Not reducing inflation.

Not reining in the FBI and the intelligence community.

Not protecting kids from predators and groomers.

Ukraine.

He speaks for all 49 Republicans in the Senate. It's on them for making him their leader.

But his partner in crime Grassely, is on the list.

Strange that Earnst voted FOR homosexual marriage, but against this piece of grift.

Seems like Iowa's two senators are trying to play both sides of any debate.

Headline I just saw at Twitchy:
Mitch McConnell says most Republicans feel assisting Ukraine is the No. 1 priority for the United States

Oh, really? Along with many other Republicans, I recognize there are not any good guys in that particular fight. I nean, it's nice to see the Russkis find out they're not omnipotent, but anyone could have delivered that message. Next up- Chinese invading India and discovering they're not omnipotent either.

Sheridan said...

In the queue behind McConnell are people like John Thune and Joni Ernst. Both RINOs. Both far younger than Mitch. Our future is in good hands!! What a time to be a Ukrainian elite!

Mitch McConnel is a grifting whore. The nuber one priority should be inflation. Then the boarder. Then energy.
But grifting whores need their kickbacks. Be nice to know what semi private entity is the politically connected middle man for all this "aid". You can bet McConnel is getting his cut.

Mike of Snoqualmie said...

Mitch McConnel is a grifting whore. The nuber(sic) one priority should be inflation. Then the boarder. Then energy.

Controlling spending would reduce Mitch's ability to generate graft for his grifters. The Fed is controlling the money supply despite any "help" from the pork barrel spenders. A balanced budget would mean the Fed could go easier on interest rates. That would help all of us, but not Mitch's buddies.

Mike of Snoqualmie said...

We all knew Nancy Pelosi enabled the Capitol rioters with her security plan. Now the Republicans have found the receipts. She deliberately understaffed and underequipped the Capitol Police for 1/6. The FBI did the rest. They sent agents (Ray Eps and others) to stir up the crowd and direct the bad guys into the grounds and the building.
