"If you find yourself mad as hell and you don’t want to take it anymore—for the sake of what you hold dear, stand down."

Writs Liberal Guy, addressing Republicans, at "Don’t Take the Bait" (The American Mind)
You should be suspicious of anyone calling for kinetic action. There is good reason to think that that person is an FBI agent. Big Tech and the FBI are watching, waiting, and enabling. They want a super-sized Ruby Ridge. Don’t give it to them.
An eyes-wide-open understanding of this asymmetrical distribution of power calls for a civil disobedience response—peaceful, nonviolent resistance. Let them show their illiberal nature. Don’t give them a diversion that distracts from the consequences of their horrible policies.
This is the path to short- and long-term Republican gains. For all that we have at stake, please commit to this path. We rise and fall together.

On the one hand this is good advice. On hte other it is unnecessary.

The Conservative movement has been overwhelmingly peaceful.

And it will remain so.

It is the Democrat Party and their Republican GOPe allies in DC that have been turning to violence.

Democrats are just violent shitty people.

Watch the videos of the absolute reprobates that attack Ashlii Babitt's mother sometime.

There are not that many of them. Nobody likes being a complete shithead.

When they try to run their mail in vote harvest bullshit this November people with cell phones will be documenting them.

Nobody actually supports what the Democrat party is doing. The only way to be a democrat now is to be motivated completely by hate.

Jan 6 was a pivotal event, but can be seen as a positive or a negative:

1. It revealed some on the right are violent and seek to overthrow the government. Some thereby believe the government reacted appropriately with all sorts of raids and hardcore prosecution. The agents and informants rooted out 'insurrectionists' and 'white supremacy,' which helps the establishment and left's credibility.

2. It revealed that the government was utterly clueless on Jan 6, both in security planning and in painting a simple riot as something more than it was. They events of 2021 and 2022 thereby lay out the problems of "the swamp" and FBI and thereby undermine the establishment and benefit the right.

My take is this: if you want a nonviolent culture war to turn into a super bloody civil war...keep it up. In a country with more guns in private possession than the rest of the world combined...you truly don't want to go there. Zealots on the left and right could and would engage in widespread massacres and assassinations in the fashion of Mexico's long drug war. They'd shut down the economy, create "no go" zones like Sweden, and we'd live in a medieval world with walled cities, warlords, and local serfs.

The hostile parties need to start listening and talking to each other. Now.

Also, there's no need for "kinetic" action. We just need to take back the government and then do what they do: Start using the government to exact revenge on your political opponents.

It's legal if the government does it.

Step 1: Create a new federal bureau of police and populate that bureau with only conservative type people. Then start arresting FBI agents.

Step 2: Relocate FBI headquarters to Omaha, Nebraska, with field offices in North Dakota.

Step 2: Once you've eliminated the FBI, start investigating the wrong Congressmen. You know ... Democrats. Investigate them for what? Stealing. That's what. They're stealing student loan repayments. Lock them up. Maybe even have trials. Maybe not. Maybe just pass a law saying you don't need trials.

Then it's legal. Oh, their friends in the media will complain. CO-CONSPIRATORS. Yeah, that's the ticket. Put a few Dan Rathers in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and they'll shut up real quick.

They're going to claim you're a fascist anyway. So you might as well be one. A real one.

Start new federal intelligence agencies that you control and populated by people who are dependent on your largesse and begin disappearing people. Start by "defunding the police" (whoops, I misspelled CIA/NSA/ETC).

PM me for more details.

Instead of "Fuck Biden", its "lets go brandon". Instead of "traditional conservative" its "Paleoconservative". Good advice at any time. But very hard for any of the group to follow, let alone all members, perfectly, and at all times. Some random hot-head will be provoked into some misstep —engineered by the Progs and immediately attributed to every last member, loudly and persistently with media help.

At every step the Progs will be seeking to provoke that hot-headed reaction, because then they can claim they were right all along, they were always the injured party. The Narrative of victimization is prefabricated and pre-positioned, it is part of the battlespace prep.

Just study anybody with narcissistic personality disorder: you’ll see this kind of dynamic. There is a giant hunger in their souls and this is how they try to fill it. With the suffering of others.

rcocean said...

I agree with the sentiment. The FBI is Biden's Gestapo, and the current USA is like Nazi Germany. The Establishment isn't going to take your side if you tangle with them. You can only engage in BLM/Antifa type violence when the Estabishment supports you. And no one in power truly supports the Center-right.

The way to fight the power, is with peaceful intelligent ORGANIZATION. Gaining control of the Government, and then using it to push your agenda is only way to win. The problem is that the Center-right won't organize and act politically. They actually think acting as random individuals or refusing to use Government power to enforce their beliefs is admirable, when it's simply loser talk. "Ha, ha, we on the Right are such individuals. Trying to organize us is like herding cats" Or its "Muh principles".

Remember, if the left didn't have a double standard it would have no standards at all. Remember how the left abused power in its treatment of Wisconsin conservatives who were writers and policy wonks.
Remember that we want to be a nation of laws, not of mobs.
The FBI tactic in relation to pro-lifers is: to arrive with drawn guns by night; to shine a blinding flashlight so nothing can be seen; to scream out instructions which will be: to put your hands up, to face away from them, to back towards them, to kneel down when you are close to them and continue backing, to handcuff you, to refuse to explain, to shout at your wife/husband and children. Remember all through this that you are innocent in a country of laws. Get a lawyer as soon as possible (your family will do this); expect pointless delays over everything; expect jello desserts, warm milk, baloney sandwiches, cockroaches while you wait; try to take gray sweatshirt with no writing or designs with you. However bad jail is, it very likely that it is merely what the prisoners go through every day. And less than what Russian anti-war protestors face.

We have plenty of other federal police (too many, in fact). Now the IRS wants to hire 87,000 armed Gestapo to go around forcing people's safety-deposit boxes open to see what's in there for stealing.

So, yeah, as a country we can defund the FBI and then the IRS. Starts by voting them out. If they don't go, then we can discuss Wolverine activities.

Let's see, who is the most violent Right Wing Extremist that the FBI has arrested recently? Oh yeah, Mr. Houck who pushed a guy that yelled at his kid. He's so violent, that he was talking to the US Attorney's office a month ago, but the FBI still figured they needed a 26 man SWAT team to take him down. We wouldn't Mr. Houck releasing his palms of fury on the government.

At Ruby Ridge, FBI Sniper Lon Horiuchi shot and killed Randy Weaver's dog with no warning, then shot and killed his son when he came out, then shot and killed his wife (while holding a baby)

This happened 30 years ago last month. I normally see a reference a couple time a year.

For some reason, in the past couple months I have been seeing more and more mentions of it. Including in this post.

Is this just because it is the 30 year anniversary? Possible but I kind of doubt it. So why is this now bubbling up in the mainstream media? IS this battlespace prep for something? If so, what?

Brandon and his allies have already called for murder of rightwing MAGA extremists. Are the murders at Ruby Ridge going to be used to justify this?

We saw a murder last week of an 18 year old, who may not have even been a republican, last week in North Dakota. (Not interesting to Ann, apparently) Guy got out on $5000 and was not even charged with murder, although he confessed.

Are we getting spun up for more of this?

Or maybe my aluminum foil (hard to find tinfoil these days) hat is just too tight.

I do agree with the central thrust of not giving them an excuse to come after us with their guns. Especially not just before an election. Or is this the intention?

The advice here is not wrong, per se. The key with any course of action is that you need to predict what the consequences will be with various outcomes, determine if this particular course of action is better than the alternatives, and if and when you decide to go forward that you are well prepared, organized, and committed. Random crap rarely accomplishes anything, and many "this will change the world" acts proved to be really, really stupid and counterproductive.

That said, you never take "kinetic activity" off the table. Just keep in mind that once you commit to "kinetic activity" there is no going back. The world changes at that moment and the old rules no longer apply. You best be sure.

Gandhi's tactics, like Martin Luther King's, worked because an honest reporting of how the local authorities and representatives of the government acted shamed the larger public with an ability to influence those governments.

How Shannon Brandt is being treated after he said he intentionally killed someone because they were a Republican rather than because they turned down his gay pass says that shame doesn't exist anymore.

john mosby said...

The author compares anti-MAGA to 60’s Dixiecrats. Let’s contrast them.

Why wasnt there a more violent black reaction to Dixiecrat provocation in the 60’s?

- blacks believed the federal government would support them.

- Dixiecrats believed the federal government would support blacks. As Ike and JFK sent troops and marshals into the South, this hypothesis was confirmed.

- blacks were only 10% of the US population at the time. They would not win a civil war against the other 90%. In some states, blacks were up in the 40% of population, but had little penetration of the institutions of organized violence: police, national guard, state courts, etc. They would not win a civil war against the other 60%, especially if fear turned the federal government against them.

- so blacks had little choice but nonviolent resistance and trying to use the courts. (60’s crime wave may have been in part a grass roots liberation struggle - and it worked in part. When was the last time you heard of nightriders going into a black neighborhood? Do the hate crime laws scare them, or is it the saturation of the hood with guns and people who didnt see anything?)

So now let’s look at MAGA.

- MAGA doesnt believe the feds will support them. In fact, they see the feds actively pursuing them.

- Democrats dont believe the feds will support MAGA either, since, as the author points out, the Dems are the feds.

- MAGA are about half the population. They have majorities in many states/counties/regions. They have significant penetration of the government’s organs of violence, to include running them outright in some states. Could they win a civil war against the other 50%? Could they at least establish MAGA ‘hoods where the nightriders fear to tread?

Finally, both sides learned from the Dixiecrats: dont give uo when youre on top. The Dixiecrats could have gone full Hitler inside their states and full Ridgway outside. When the President federalized their national guards, the governors could have dismissed any officers who accepted federal control and filled the vacancies with redneck WW2 vets. No President would have refought the Civil War for 10% of the population. The Supreme Court’s rulings would have gone unenforced.

Which means the Dems won’t let regular order resume - ever. And the MAGAs may use any means necessary to restore regular order.

Very different situation from Faubus on the school steps.

I've said before here that the FBI did not become corrupt in recent years. It was born corrupt 110 years ago as the "Bureau of Investigation" and has been corrupt ever since.

It was founded specifically to be a secret police acting mainly against political enemies of the state. That has always been one of its primary functions and continues today.

Many in Congress objected to its formation at the time and Wilson just rolled over them. It should have never come into existence. It is way past time to close it down. Or, as someone said, move it to Omaha. Then, also, take away all of its law enforcement powers.

Currently rereading Tim Weiner's "Enemies:A History of the FBI" and he details chapter and verse.

I highly recommend it. Also by Weiner, Legacy of Ashes, a history of the CIA.

I have one correction. They want the FBI to hurt you. They start with the promise that you are evil, then assume you will do evil things, and thus you must be already guilty, but if not, be arrested before you do something wrong.

They justify all this on that second premise, that the right is guilty in intention even if not in act. The left is saintly in intention, even if they are guilty in act. Use that rubric against everything they stand for and you will see that it bears out.

We would all be well advised to understand that, properly understood, the "civil" in "Civil War" refers to ... civilians. The American Civil War was an anomaly. The Rwandan Civil War is a better model, but still not perfect. If things do get "kinetic", I predict that purple areas will bear the brunt. Red/blue, targeting the blue/red guy down the street. And when that happens, the National Guard isn't going to save anyone's bacon. Those kids signed up to get free college and maybe some extra spending money. They did NOT sign up to kill their neighbors. It'll be a free for all, at least initially.

And by the way, while we don't know each other's identities on some comment section, make no mistake. Anyone who is politically mouthy enough to regularly taunt their opponents here, is almost certainly known to their neighbors, and probably not that well liked as a result. Whether you're Team Red or Team Blue, somebody on the other team knows what an asshole you are. If you don't live in a monochromatic enclave, you are not safe. Much the contrary, I think conservatives should take a play from the progressive book. They should not openly support violence, but they should create the infrastructure to support it. They need a National Lawyer's Guild to defend their own protesters. They need an ACLU to defend every crackpot internet Nazi. They need to play this game in the streets. Why are left-wing rioters bailed out and uncharged while right-wingers catch years? Because the left supports their thugs. Why is every left-wing terrorist from the '70s free and in a cushy academic job? Because the left supports their thugs.

Time for conservatives to stop being squeamish, embrace the mirror philosophy, and build the institutions that will support a mass protest movement, complete with violent fringes. No enemies to the right, no friends to the left.

If you're worried about the opinion of "liberal guy", you lost a long time ago.

Read your Alinsky and quit whining about him. "The Government" is just people, they have names and addresses. So long as conservatives play only the political game, they will keep getting rolled by the people playing the political, social, business and violence games.

Alexander said...

The unspoken bedrock of "nonviolent protest" is it works (worked) when the people with power were white conservatives, be it Americans for MLK or Brits for Gandhi.

That's fundamentally crucial. The average Joe Smiths did not want to see other people, even foreigners, brutalized, and would not support it even at the expense of his own position.

But this is not the normal state of man. This was an extraordinary circumstance, not all of it actually good, and the result is that widescale belief among Whites that nonviolent protest begets meaningful resolutions because it worked against *them*.

But most people and societies aren't like this. You aren't going to nonviolently convince Chinese or Arabs or Africans to ever surrender sovereignty where they have it, for example.

And it won't happen here either. Not now. You don't long march through the institutions over generations then give up because some impotent conservative waves his hands shouting "stop" .

Now that said, conservatives absolutely should maintain nonviolence for now, and follow the letter of the law in any disobedience, for now... But they should do so from the mindset that they are in the opposition and to do otherwise will get them crushed (no matter how much they complain about DoUbLe StAnDaRdS🤪) and not from the suicidal standpoint that THIS TIME, the Dems will realize they are the real ists/phobes/tyrants and will therefore give up.

There is a world of difference between undermining your enemies through malicious compliance and legal disobedience, and insisting that if you just quote Locke hard enough the other side will stop stomping on you.

I think there's kind of a false equivalency lurking here. Admittedly, there are people on opposite ends of the partisan divide who are so agitated, angry, and unstable that they might (and do) resort to violence, which is a very bad thing for our society. However, it is undeniably the left whose GOAL is to tear down our society in order to replace it with something radically different. They are actively working to destroy families, religion, freedom of thought and expression, freedom of association, and due process, practically decriminalize crime itself, turn elections into a joke, promote mob rule, destroy the independence of the judiciary through intimidation, and elevate group identity over individual merit in every way imaginable. Thus, for the left, violence and destruction doesn't happen because something spiraled out of control in the minds of a few adherents; it's the policy objective the whole movement is out to secure. They need to tear everything down in order to gain complete control.

As one of Gandhi's grandson's explained when we were on local TV together, non-violence is a tool, just like a gun is a tool, and requires training and care for proper use.

The first requirement though, is a good cause, agreed to by most. Then, realistic demands. Publicity--modern non-violent protest is a creature of mass communication.

It's not really all that esoteric, but thorough pacifism and non-violence require more courage and self-control than most people have, self included.

The Party of Chaos may sustain their margin of fraud--we can only wait to see. After that it's anyone's call.

Same quote, different thought.

Bullies do not lack the courage of their convictions. Bullies don't fail to act, bullies only act against those against whom they perceive as too weak to respond. The bullies in my school didn't lack for the conviction that I was an easy target, and they willingly acted upon it. They did not act against bigger or tougher people. My understanding is that the bullies are on the left because they are able to inflict harm on people who cannot or are unable to defend themselves. Like 12 YO boys by an abortion clinic, or a pastor and his wife and 7 children in their home in the early morning hours.

Tell me Howard, does that not make you ashamed of your side and of your government? Or do you support bullies?

So, at any time, the President of the United States can order gas prices to be lowered, and he expects gas station owners to DO IT NOW.

You will recall that at the end of the Trump presidency, gasoline was $1.87/gallon.

It is now $3.83 a gallon (AAA average national price). In places out West, it's over $5.25/gallon.

Now, the thing to remember is that Joe "Idiot" Biden didn't order gas stations to lower their prices on Day 1 of his presidency. Or last week. Or last month. Or last year. He's only ordering them to DO IT NOW ... because Americans have THREATENED HIS DEMOCRACY with an election on November 9.

Kick this ASSHOLE to the curb in November, folks, by stripping out his lieutenants. If they won't go peacefully, then we can talk about Wolverine-type activities.

It revealed that the government was utterly clueless on Jan 6, both in security planning and in painting a simple riot as something more than it was. They events of 2021 and 2022 thereby lay out the problems of "the swamp" and FBI and thereby undermine the establishment and benefit the right.

I disagree. Jan 6 was a successful FBI operation assuming they are now a wing of the DNC. So was the Whitmer "kidnapping." Although they were a bit too clumsy about it.

Are you kidding?

Howard explicitly called for giving his Howard's Heroes antifa types combat and retirement pay for their exploits in 2020! Howard, and others, told us that these antifa types were the equivalent to our Normandy D-Day heroes!

Needless to say Howard is a big proponent of carving up the babies for fun and profit so I suspect he is all in on the carving up of adolescent victims of the lefts/dems/NeverTrump (but I repeat myself) lunatic Trans-agenda.

But he'll have to confirm that.

The biggest hurdle in getting Howard to confirm it will be first getting him to admit its even happening. He's still denying the left is pushing the CRT/marxist nonsense in our schools!

All through 2021 leftists did the actual violent rioting. All in Democrat cites. And bow many were prosecuted? How many were held in jail until trial?

Virtually none.

Look at the multiyrear sentences being handed down for the nonviolent actors of January 6- 4 years for "parading". Liereally, the charge, parading.

I used to think if. Now I thing when. When teh violence breaks out, it won't at first be from organized groups. It will be fed up lone wolves whoknoow that in any group the people urging violence are Feds, so they'll go it alone.

Before I read the article I had assumed that "Liberal Guy" was just your standard lefty coward who didn't want to be caught in the cross fire. However he makes some good points. The question is, when liberals like him are actually in the voting booth are they going to vote against the progressives (retrogressives, actually, once you examine their policies), or is he going to vote Democrat after all? I think I know the answer.

Meanwhile I read about Democrats openly hoping that Hurricane Ian is truly devastating because the more people it kills and more damage it causes, the more damage they think it will do to the career and political expectations of Ron DeSantis. This tells me in turn that "progressive" (retrogressive) Democrats are subhuman, utterly lacking in empathy for people who aren't them.

As for "Liberal Guy," I infer that he is an urban dweller and at least economically comfortable (he doesn't list his pronouns, so I infer that by referring to himself as a "guy" that he uses masculine pronouns). The goal of the policies of the Biden Administration appears to be to inflict as much pain as possible upon people who are further down the economic ladder, people who work with their hands and/or run small businesses, people who do useful things like fixing plumbing or repairing roofs in lieu of writing articles for "American Mind." At some point these folks will be left with nothing left to lose except their guns and their right to attend church. And Democrats are openly coming for their guns while sending two dozen agents to kick down the door of religious people.

Then what, Liberal Guy?

I'm wondering why we just didn't reelect Trump. He wasn't going to establish a dictatorship, and if he attempted to, the whole government was already against him. The FBI wasn't going to create a police state for Trump, but they seem more than willing to do so for Biden.

Under ordinary (pre-Covid) conditions, Trump was very good for the economy, and if he turned out not to be, it would pretty much be the end for him. We'd have to put up with mean tweets, but we'd have a sane immigration policy and an energy policy that wasn't driven by the idea that the world would end in ten years unless we did things that wouldn't work and wouldn't change anything if they did work.

A country that reelected Trump probably wouldn't elect insane district attorneys, so we wouldn't be worrying so much about crime. We would have been spared Biden's nonsense and blundering, and probably Ukraine would have been spared the latest war. Whatever inflation was caused by the first round of COVID payments wouldn't have been turbocharged by later rampant spending.

One way or another, Trump would have been out the door in 2025. He'd have had his share of successes and failures and the country would be ready for something new. As things are now, if Trump does come back, he'll be as old as Biden and the chances of cognitive decline will be greater. He'll have bigger problems to deal with and fewer resources to work with.

And a Trump who's had years to percolate in isolation and resentment won't be the same as the one we elected in 2016. Part of Trump's appeal was that he wasn't an ideologue and wasn't looking for purges. If that changes -- if that has to change because of how the Democrats have been carrying on -- it won't be a change for the better.

I didn't mind that Trump wasn't locking up Hillary Clinton and Democrats right and left. I gave me the impression that he was actually concentrating on things that might make things better for the public. I wonder why, if we had to elect Biden, he didn't follow that path instead of trying to put his opponents into prison

Lurker21 said...

Who are the "bullies"? Aren't they the people going after parents who speak out at school committee meetings and people who protest abortion facilities? Maybe it's the people who are keeping protesters and trespassers and people who just happened to be in the wrong place and the wrong time in solitary confinement awaiting trial. If people aren't actually bullying, maybe they aren't real bullies.

As for Obama, someday we'll realize that he wasn't either Dwight Eisenhower or Vladimir Lenin, but that will take a while. Obama wasn't the radical some take him to be, but he wasn't any kind of uniter either. I think he understood that a president nowadays can only really be the president of half the country and that he had to appeal strongly to that half and put down the other half.

At the same time, he wasn't able to do that much, and maybe didn't want to do that much. Obama had to play the political game and he liked to play the game, but he couldn't take it as far as Biden has, and probably didn't want to. There may have been more of the pot smoking Hawaiian basketball player or wind surfer or couch surfer in him than the dedicated Bill Ayers subversive. People on both sides are hung up on the idea that politicians on the other side are fanatical monsters and those on their own side are toothless paper tigers. It might help if sometimes they could see that it might not always be the case.

Saying that Obama was a moderate Republican is a dig at actual Republicans though, who are more moderate than the left gives them credit for being. It also misses the fact that an Eisenhower or Nixon or Ford lived in a very different political climate. They had to live in an environment that Democrats dominated and were naturally willing to give way to what Democrats wanted, yielding more than Democrats would want to allow Republicans. But I think it's time to consider that "the fundamental transformation of America" might just have been so much high-flown and empty political rhetoric and not anything meant seriously.

The country has always been divided politically. That's why we have political parties and not political wholies or wholsies. If there's a way out of our current mess, it may be to see degrees and gradations, rather than look at everything in absolute black-and-white terms.

Steve Brannon, Charlie Kirk and other leaders say the same thing every day. The regime wants more incidents like Jan 6 to justify their narrative of fear for violent white supremicists on the right. We need to not take the bait. What Republicans need more than anything is a command structure for the Coming House majority that demands each representative play an active role through committee work in investigating and exposing the corruption of the left and the broader Establishment, and to refer the criminals for prosecution. We won’t get any under the Garland DOJ, but we can line up the criminal investigations and prosecutions for the Republican Administration when it takes office in 2025. Republicans need to be fearless in this effort, starting with impeachment of Biden, Garland, Mayorkas, and (if available) Wray. Republicans also need to get serious with plans to separate the intelligence parts of the FBI from the law enforcement parts. The union of the two is what enables the FBI to target individuals for intelligence investigations as thinly-disguised fishing exercises for finding potential support for a criminal investigation.
