I cooked a corned beef brisket (3-1/2 lb.) on my Traeger grill today. The brisket was seasoned with the spice packet plus garlic, pepper and Johnnies' seasoning salt. I started the grill at 7:00 a.m., put the brisket on around 7:20 with a temperature probe. The grill was set for 225F and about 4-1/2-hrs later it reached the target temperature of 160F. Then double wrapped the brisket in aluminum foil and cooked till it reached 203F. That took about 3-1/2 hours. Then it rested for 1/2 hour. Not hard to cook at all.

The result is yummy. It's been too long since I cooked a CB brisket. Before, I'd boiled it and it always wants to fall apart when removed from the pot. This time, it was nice and solid, and scrumptious.

Dear President Putin.
cc: Chairman Xi, Mr. Ayatolla.

Sirs:

Today I unavoidably listened to a full hour of "The Talk" on CBS that was screaming at at high volume in a waiting room. It was followed by the latest screaming version of "Lets Make a Deal."

Please, as an act of mercy, push the button. We're already gone.

Thanks,
Rabel

I just worked a Ukrainian in the Aland Islands. ut5uy Alexy Yakovlev. Fast code sender.

The Åland Islands, or Åland, is an autonomous region of Finland. Comprising around 6,700 islands, this Swedish-speaking archipelago is in the Baltic Sea. The capital, Mariehamn, on the main island of Fasta Åland, is known for its beaches and streets lined with 19th-century wooden townhouses, handicraft shops and cafes. Västerhamn, the town's western port, links Åland with Estonia, Sweden and mainland Finland.

Echinacea purpurea "Magnus" or a newer cultivar? So vivid, the color contrast, really striking. Down the rabbit hole I go. I'll be seeing them on the insides of my eyelids when I try to sleep, and in my sleep if I'm lucky.

Jeez, Mike. You didn't invite me? I'm drooling here.

Although CT is a long way from Snoqualmie. Next time.

Literary question; in my early teens, I discovered that I was allowed into the Adult Section of the Eugene Public library. I very quickly stumbled upon John O'Hara, and I consumed his works -- Appointment in Samara, Butterfield 8 -- like a bear going through a beehive. But since fiction was shelved alphabetically by author, one afternoon while I was hoping to find something I hadn't read by O'Hara that had just been checked in, I came upon "Girls In Their Married Bliss", by Edna O'Brien.

Now, GITMB was a far cry from Butterfield 8 (or, maybe not), but it had an interesting cover, and I checked it out and read it, and was rather instantaneously converted into some form of raging feminist. I practically glowed in the dark with my indignation at the Irish Patriarchy.

Anyone else read Edna O'Brien as a teen-ager?

not just Boston Childrens, ANOTHER hospital..
DC children's hospital offered 'gender affirming' hysterectomies for kids, audio and deleted webpage reveal

Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. offered "gender-affirming" hysterectomies for kids between the ages of 0-21, a recently deleted webpage shows.

An archived webpage from Aug. 18 on Children's National Hospital's website listed "gender-affirming medical care and gender-affirming hysterectomy" among the services offered for "patients between the ages of 0-21" through the hospital's gynecology program.

The webpage was recently modified and no longer states that the program offers gender-affirming hysterectomies for kids.

No longer states... But, Don't Worry; your BABY can STILL have his womb removed!
They just don't talk about it so loud anymore

Do Republicans realize that they need to give us a number?

The Democrats are paying $10,000 per vote. That's the going rate.

How much are Republicans counter-offering? 20K? 30? It's not about whether this is right or wrong. Because it's happening. We've established that we're in a dictatorship where the dictator can take our tax dollars and hand it out to his constituent groups with nary a peep from the former Congress.

So now we're just negotiating the number.

So how much, Mr. Republican Candidate, are you greasing me? I don't care where the money comes from. The Democrats, if they've done nothing, have shown us that deficits don't matter. That there is infinite amounts of money to hand out. And no pesky laws to get in the way. Just hire some lawyers who'll be paid to say it's legal and voila.

So how much? Don't come back to me and tell me you think it's wrong, because I'm past that now.

You need to give me a number if you want my vote.

I don’t recall seeing in the comments from earlier today wondering why people with 6 figure salaries were included in the loan forgiveness EA, although I wasn’t able to read all of the comments. I believe I have come up with a very plausible explanation that I haven’t seen anywhere else.

I had read earlier today online somewhere (I forget where, but it was a memorable statistic) that there are around 30 White House staffers who collectively owe millions in student loans with a number of those directly involved in crafting this policy. I had also remembered tonight having read last year how a number of twenty-something WH aides were making high 5 figure and low 6 figure salaries, which at that time I remember thinking “WTF!!! They’re not that far removed from college with little experience!!!”. These overpaid snot-nosed punks wrote themselves into the policy! Can you say “Conflict of Interest”? 🤬

That’s my theory based on analyzing data that I have seen…

This evening I read this fascinating interview between AG William Barr and Bari Weiss, titled: "Bill Barr Calls Bullsh*t"

I was fascinated by his perspective, his profound understanding of some issues, and his utter lack of insight about others.

Tell me again what a FASCIST Trump was when it is the left who is telling businesses what to do in the midst of a PANDEMIC? I guess they really didn't care about the American People....only about stopping TRUMP. Can you see how much they hate us??
They don't give a shit about us at all...just about power and getting elected or reelected.

Ashley Bidens diary is TRUE. Joe Biden showered with his daughter. If it isn't true...WHY did two people plead guilty to stealing it (she left it behind, and they found it) So Biden IS perverted incestual pedophile, and the left loves the hell out of him. You wonder why we are going to hell in a handbasket?? https://townhall.com/tipsheet/saraharnold/2022/08/25/ashley-bidens-shocking-diary-is-real-confirms-creepy-joe-biden-allegations-n2612267

Did he mention anything about his role in the cover-up of Vince Foster's murder?

Inflation is always the result of government monetary policy. The Fed has been holding the money supply constant all year, so yr/yr inflation will continue to fall. Inflation should be back to the 2% range in the 1Q/2Q next year, as it takes about 16-months for a policy to take full effect.

Expect interest rates to increase as the Democrats continue to spend with abandon. If the Fed doesn't buy the Treasuries required to fund the Dem's spending, interest rates will have to go up to induce the public to buy Treasuries.

Democrats have never met a buck that the won't spend. Sometimes two and three times.
