Some years ago our family found we'd inadvertently booked our Disney vacation to coincide with Gay Days. As rock-ribbed Republicans, my dear wife and I were worried about how seeing same-sex couples would affect our pre-school aged daughters. Turns out our daughters didn't notice and the gay couples were well-groomed and polite as any other Disney guest. A big yawn.
If they're making rainbow Disney swag and selling that shit in their gift shops, they're endorsing "Gay Days."

I have no objections to it. I would wish, however, that if Disney wished to appeal to the Crips demographic that they would do so in such a way as not to inflame the sensibilities of those Bloods who might also wish to attend on that day. Is it truly necessary to flash your colors at Disneyland?

This has nothing whatsoever to do with Disney executives, as a corporate strategy, creating gay content and injecting it in movies for US consumers, but removing it in the same movie when they do their Chinese release or Saudi Arabian release. That's manipulative. It could get you thrown off a roof in some of these countries.
Gay Day also has nothing to do with Disney flexing its corporate muscle in the state of Florida to attempt to influence legislation or select politicians for us, just because they've hired a bunch of gay employees. Corporations influencing legislation is vastly different than a bunch of affiliated people deciding they want to go watch Goofy and Minni Mouse on the same day. Once you make that leap into deciding that, as a corporation, you're going to dictate the appropriate zeitgeist, you are open to legitimate and vehement criticism.
Ron DeSantis is right to push back and he'd make a fine President, I think. Disney frankly is already enjoying the kinds of corporate tax perks in Florida that mere mortals could only wish for.

There is tons of footage of this on the internet but Disney refuses to do anything about it. I have reported gays with their hands down each other’s pants to staff and they just looked at me and turned away. I grew up with gays and just saw them as part of the landscape like any other group. The last twenty years have made me LOATHE them as a group and the ones I was friends I have cut ties with since they condone this type of behavior even if they don’t participate themselves. Disney frequently stops guests for inappropriate clothing at the gate - they ask you to return to your vehicle to change or buy clothing at one of their stores. There are regular discussions on Twitter regarding the skimpy tops and short shorts of the usual female suspects.
Does anyone really care about this ? I would probably avoid "Gay Day" at Disneyworld but I have only been there once and didn't go in the park. This seems to be related to the phenomenon of single males being entranced by childish things like Disney characters.

I've lived in Orlando for 30+ years, and there have been Gay Days at Disney that whole time. They never called it that for the first 20 years, it was just understood.
Now that same-sex couples are so mainstream, I'm not sure why they keep doing it, except that I know exactly why they keep doing it. It's not a problem, really, but I'm sure they are sorry they had to close Tom Sawyer's Island. That place was fun, but apparently it was pretty sick during Gay Days.
Anyways.
I would ask to find out when those days are so I can stay 1,000 miles away, but I don't think I'll be going back to Disney ever again.
Btw, was in San Francisco this weekend for a wedding. The hotel lobby was festooned with rainbow everything as were all the street flags and shop window signs.

I worked at Disneyland for nearly 20 years so I have some experience in this area. You want to know why? I'll tell you. If, as an employee... waitaminute- as a cast member (yeah, that's it), you're involved in a situation where a customer... waitaminute- a guest (yeah, that's it) has a complaint, you will be held responsible. End of story. Doesn't matter who, what or why.
