Late afternoon sky.

No sunrise run this morning. It was raining — raining on December 1st. Snow would have been much nicer, but it didn't happen. At 3:45 p.m. it was 48° — which was chilly enough on the exposed prairie (AKA the dog park). The pre-sunset sky looked like this:

"The first of December was covered with snow

The Berkshires seemed dreamlike on account of that frosting" - Sweet Baby James, James Taylor

Well, all I can say is that the Green Mountains seemed dreamlike today, frosted with snow, and it looks like the snow cover is here for a while.

Beautiful sky pic. I rather like those overcast skies and cold days during winter. Precipitation or no. Guess I should live in a cave in the mountains.

I'm jealous Tim. The hills around my house here in center Mass have just a mottled smattering left. My son's place in Western New Hampshire got a solid 4 inches last Friday so we were able to have snowball fights and do a little cross country skiing to burn off the turkey and pumpkin cheesecake. I just got a new pair of MSR snowshoes can't wait to use them.

And so was the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston

That always kind of bugs me- I don’t know where James was coming from but it’s hard for me to imagine no snow on the Turnpike west of Stockbridge if it was covered from Stockbridge to Boston. If you’ve ever traveled the Mass Pike in winter you know how unlikely that would be…

I suppose it’s possible James got on the Pike at Lee but there was no entry in Stockbridge, so how would he know the Turnpike was covered in snow there?

BTW I think James lives in Lenox now, doesn’t he?

Jeffrey Epstein's pilot, Larry Visoski, testified in the Ghislaine Maxwell case that Donald Trump was a frequent passenger on the Lolita Express.

The pilot, in naming passengers, told jurors: "Donald Trump, before he was president, also."

I give abortions and abortion debate wide berth.

The Omicrud Scariant, on the other hand. So far, the Biden adminspin seems to be, "Don't everyone panic. Leave that to us!"

A brain dead person… she said that?? I would think absolutely the opposite, the living are dying a little every day- but the unborn is pure growth. What a stone cold thing to say. They - the abortion pros- are always changing their little red lines… it’s pain, no- it’s brain- no, heart, breath— so, they live and develop w/in the womb under the beating heart of their mommas- and are not living in their own little worlds-

I have no more words. Only a child if wanted. Or not “damaged”.
How progressive.

First I read that an SUV drove through the parade in Waukesha, with no one mentioning that Darrell Brooks is alleged to have driven it. Sorry, mainstream journalists, but 2010 Ford Escapes have no self-driving capability. However today’s news takes the cake. I just read that Alec Baldwin gave an interview in which he insists that he did not pull that trigger. So if we are to believe this scenery-chewing ham actor, why then the trigger must have pulled itself. Of course it did. No other rational explanation.

I see that Pete Buttigieg has the solution for high gas prices — everyone will drive EVs! Is there enough lithium mined in the world to make the batteries needed to build that many EVs? Not to mention replacement of worn out batteries? One is not supposed to ask! Is there enough generating capacity to in the US to charge up all these EVs we will be driving? One is not supposed to ask! Does the American electrical grid have the capacity and the resilience to charge up all those EVs? One is not supposed to ask!

Hilarious!

Alec Baldwin goes Full Howard and now, incredibly, claims he never fired the gun at all!

Fantastic!

Of course, since Alec is a far left democratical who killed a woman and wounded another person, why not try the "Hunter Biden Laptop"-gambit?

I believe we are mere days away from Baldwin extending his Full Howard ploy by claiming the dead woman never existed as well!

”History teaches us:

The people who pull down statues are never the good guys.

The people who burn, loot, and murder are never the good guys.

The people who would compel you to wear certain things are never the good guys.

The people who would compel you put substances into your bodies over your objections are never the good guys.

The people who would restrict where you can travel, who you can visit are never the good guys.

The people who restrict what you can read are never the good guys.

The people who restrict what you can write and publish are never the good guys.

The people who would withhold information from you "for safety" are never the good guys.

The people who want to restrict or prohibit your access to food, water, employment, medical care, and other necessities of life are never the good guys.

The people who justify any and all excesses in the name of 'public health' or 'public safety' are never the good guys.

The people who impose restrictive rules on others they have no intention of keeping themselves are never the good guys.

And those who support, encourage, defend, and cheer on the people who would do these things are never the good guys, either.”

The boards for the foundation footing of our house started going in yesterday. The foundation is going to use the mono-pour method where both the footing and the curtain-wall forms are constructed and the concrete poured in one pour. Most of the footing forms have been roughly laid out; they'll need to be aligned into their final position before they're staked down.

Idk if this man is mentally ill or not, but she is not wrong about the mental health system in our country.

And , in regards to the preview of Alec Balwin's interview, I noticed it included a stretch of Alec crying as he relived the horror of what happened. Hmm, I wonder if the ladies on The View will be more sympathetic to his tears than they were to those of Kyle Rittenhouse?

In related news, two Black males ages 12 and 13 beat up an Asian woman on a Philadelphia SEPTA bus yesterday. Her offense was that she bumped into one of them when the bus rode over a pothole. White Supremacists were apparently to blame according to several Black academics.

If you have ever watched the movie Funny Girl, you will remember what the Omar Sharif character said whenever anybody asked him where he was going to be at any given time in the future; he always replied: "I don't like to be tied down..."

As for the whole MassPike thing, good point. I hope you didn't ruin the song for me. It's kind of a December 1 ritual to listen to it. Regarding James Taylor lyrics, I was in Boston watching the weather report one time, and they were talking about the winds over the ocean to the south because of an incoming storm, and another song from that album was suddenly demystified, "The Blues is a Bad Dream":

Those winds out over the ocean
They're blowing which way they choose,
Them winds ain't got no emotion
They don't know the blues...

So now if I ever listen to the whole album, that's the "Channel 5 Boston" song. No big surprise that it wasn't a hit.
