"What item of clothing was the emphasis on? What is the most risky piece of clothing?"/"Underpants... The insides, the crotch."

From "Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny dupes spy into revealing how he was poisoned" (CNN).
Toxicologists consulted by CNN say that if applied in granular form to clothes, the [lethal nerve agent] Novichok would be absorbed through the skin when the victim begins to sweat....

Now I understand why they call it "going commando".

How come we never see stories about how the Chinese government is killing people?

They are far more prolific murderers than the Russians.

this is the second instance, the russians don't actually kill anyone, they must be the laughingstock of balashika, the spetznaz training center, like akroyd and chase, in 'spies like us'

Information on Hunter Bidens laptop, That not a single person challenged, was Russian disinformation.
Information from Russian Spies is 100% true and above board.

I have no way to know what is factual now. I assume somewhere from some, to all of an article is propaganda

Navalny Was Not Poisoned

The Back And Forth About Navalny's 'Poisoning'

Navalny Gets Skripaled

The first of the above articles includes the following passages:

The doctors in the intensive care unit in Omsk .... [did] a number of tests were made but no poisons were found. ....

... Navalny had experienced severe hypoglycemia. .... Navalny’s condition was caused by a sharp drop in blood sugar. ....

It is important that the measures are taken immediately. A prolonged coma can lead to brain damage. As Navalny was on a plane up in the air it took quite a while to get him into a hospital. His prolonged coma may have created additional damage to his body. ....

Navalny said himself that he suffered from diabetes in 2019 ...

The 'western' media ... claimed that Navalny is the 'opposition leader' in Russia even as he polls at 2% which is lower than the leader of the communist party and several other real opposition politicians.

Nor is Navalny a 'liberal'. He is a rightwing nationalist and racist who sees Cechen and other non-Russian people as cockroaches that should be killed. ....

Several years ago, [Navalny] released a number of disturbing videos, including one in which he is dressed as a dentist, complaining that tooth cavities ruin healthy teeth, as clips of migrant workers are shown. In another video, he speaks out in favour of relaxing gun controls, in a monologue that appears to compare migrants to cockroaches.

.... he’s unapologetic. He sees it as a strength that he can speak to both liberals and nationalists. But comparing migrants to cockroaches? “That was artistic license,” he says. So there’s nothing at all from those videos or that period that he regrets? “No,” he says again, firmly. ...

Navalny is no danger to Putin and is actually useful for him as he keeps other 'liberals' busy with nonsensical ideas.

During the last years Navalny has made some enemies by uncovering corruption cases. His latest one was about the local governor of Tomsk. It was also the reason why he had flown there. Should Navaly become the victim of a crime, the suspects should be sought there.

What I really don't understand about Russian black ops is their consistent use of elaborate methods for assassinating political enemies. From the umbrella ricin-injecting gun (Georgi Markov), to dioxin poison, to Novichok, seriously Russians just shoot them. We do it all the time. People always end up finding out the method used anyway and the world has become violent and unpredictable enough now that popping somebody in broad daylight, even the UK, is plausibly deniable enough.

The elaborate methodology actually does the exact opposite of keeping your involvement clandestine. Seriously, just shoot them.

My question was rhetorical. I will use crayons.

It is because Democrats, Republicans, China, the Corporate Oligarchs, and the Media are all working towards the same goals.

It looks like these days Putin has to put in more effort doing in his political enemies than do our master, who can just disable a few prison cameras, bribe some guards and get the medical examiner to call it suicide. Seems easier than chasing a guy around the arctic trying to slip a mickey in his drawers.

Neither Navalny nor the Skripals were poisoned by Russian villains using the nerve agent Novichok.

Sergey Skripal was a former Russian Intelligence officer who had defected to England. While there, Skripal apparently became involved with Christopher Steele and thus became a "source" for some of Steele's fabricated Dossier reports about Trump colluding with Russia.

Skripal decided to return to Russia to live his final years there with his family. His daughter Yuliya traveled from Russia to England to arrange her father's return to Russia. The Russian Government had agreed to allow him to return and live peacefully with his family. In return for that agreement, Skripal promised to publicly tell what he knew about Steele's Dossier.

That was the situation on March 4, 2018, when Sergey and Yulia Skripal were poisoned in Salisbury, England. The Skripals were planning to return to Russia in the next few days.

In March 2018, some Trump-haters at the top of the US Intelligence Community and of the UK Intelligence Community still fantasized that they might be able to remove President Trump from his elected position by accusing him of colluding with Russia to win the 2016 election. In particular, Robert "The FBI Whitewasher" Mueller was trying to lure Trump into an obstruction-of-justice situation that would enable an impeachment.

In that situation, Sergey Skripals' plan to return to Russia, where he would publicly expose the Steele Dossier as a hoax, was an unwelcome development for some very important people.

The poisoning of the Skripals prevented them from returning to Russia. Blaming the poisoning on Russia was an added bonus.

A good place to begin reading about the Skripal poisonings

Great. Now I'm going to get paranoid every time I get a stomach ache, or a migraine. I'll be thinking "granular form. in area of sweat." I'll be pulling my pants off in the middle of an airport terminal at some point shouting, "Russians! Russians are poisoning me. It's in my balls!"

My wife will be moving steadily ahead, increasing her pace away from me, looking for the nearest Women's Rest Room to get away from me, while other humans do what humans do at a time like that: they'll hold their phones up and point. The terminal police will be too hesitant to jump in at first. "You take him." "No...you take him."

In the meantime I'll run into the nearest restaurant- a P.F. Chang's- and scream, "Water. I need water- fast. Gotta splash it onto my balls- QUICK!" The employee shrieks. A manager comes over and says, "The man wants water. Give him a glass of water."
"But...bu..but, he's not wearing any pants!"
"No worries. At least he's got his mask on."

Yes...at least I had my mask on. There's a lesson in here, I'm sure.

For the potential targets, increased paranoia and fear of a horrible death at any time from anything leading to thinking every hiccup, throat tingle, indigestion, headache or nausea was poison.

Putin's terror lives 24/7 rent free in his enemies heads. It's rather elegant, wouldn't you say?

Just take small bites-- remember-- "dose makes poison" !

Edible underwear was invented in 1975 by two young entrepreneurs from Chicago, David Sanderson and Lee Brady. They called their product “Candypants,**” and made about $150,000 a month in profit.

The umbrella gun assassination was done on a public bridge in broad daylight with hundreds of other people in the area. And nobody noticed. I'd say that was the right tool for the right job, particularly during the cold war.

I'll bet most Russian political killings are carried out with guns. That certainly happened to annoying (to Putin) reporter Anna Politkovskaya and opposition politician Boris Nemtsov. The shootings just don't make the western press as often.
