I would guess that when Joe was going through the bigly shits, he also expressed his hope for a Crazy Bernie Presidency.

What the hell! White guys in shorts?

3-4 years I tried the no carbs thing and just couldn't do it. I transitioned to 20% carbohydrate and the rest as much lean protein as I could and that seems to be working fine. But no carbs at all? Try it...not sustainable.

That is a lot of likes.

Too much information, though.

What? No donuts?

I'm not no carbs, goal is <50 per day. 6 weeks lost +10% body weight. As a big fan of meat, dairy and eggs, I'm good with they variety. As big of a contributor to my weight loss, is fasting between meals. I may go with the 18 hours a day fast. Haven't researched that yet

There's got to be a diet that either allows for, or shows the benefits of pizza. (and not the kind with cauliflower crust)

You find it, I'm all in.

The all meat diet has been around for 50 years, pioneered by some Dr. guy who eventually died at an advanced age. It was a reaction against the food pyramid.

Ralph L said...

What gave him the runs? Is he eating it raw?

Atkins diet

Someone has been skipping leg day.

I tried the keto diet once. Stayed on for 4 months. Lost a bunch of weight but had no energy.

Ryan said...

I believe eskimos had an all meat diet.

mockturtle said...

Men with legs like that definitely shouldn't wear shorts.

Psota said...

Yeah I don't think I pencil two weeks of explosive diarreha into my schedule

Howard said...

That's okay Marc turtle. There are plenty of women out there that love a man with skinny legs. They are easier to stay out of the way when making the beast with two backs.

Howard said...

I'm pretty sure the explosive diarrhea is related to a transition of intestinal bacteria from those that fed on carbohydrates to those that fed on protein. not a particularly good advertisement for the diet however.

traditionalguy said...

Keto was attacked when Dr Atkins told about its benefits. The eat Carbs in place of Fats Plot soon became the truth being pushed and Atkins was attacked some more.
And 25 years later Atkins has been totally vindicated, but the Propaganda that Fats must be avoided to stop heart disease keeps rolling along. It is harder to unlearn some theory than it is to learn the truth first. Trial lawyers depend on that. The opening Statement wins.

Lyle said...

If you reduce carbs, dairy, and sugar. You'll lose wait. Try the whole 30... same thing happens, but it's not just carnivorous.

Howard said...

Remember gentlemen, the all meat diet reduces your testosterone. Joe doesn't need to worry about that because he gets regular injections.

Christopher said...

Yeah, Atkins is the guy rhhardin was thinking about.

I'm a little less dogmatic about the benefits of low-carb diets than I used to be, because I've come to think some bodies are more responsive to it than others. But it works as reliably as a light switch for me. It's also not necessary (at least for me) to go radically no carb all of the time--once I hit my target weight I can add some carbs back in and maintain (and when I indulge too much I start putting some weight back on. But after years of doing this, I'm typically only fluctuating around a three- or four-pound variation at the most. I'm at 150 or so today, I'm kind of a short guy).

I don't know how intensely Rogan did it. Nothing but meat of course is a bad idea. Low-carb veggies are fine etc., I have green beans all the time. I stayed away from fruit for a long time because they can be high carb, but now I have apples and cantaloupe and so on and that doesn't tip the scales either--for me.

Low-fat diets, peak oil, global cooling, multiple failed predictions about catastrophic global warming, inevitable famine, the truth about what really causes ulcers and how to cure it, I could go on. Man do we have third-rate elites or what.

Never skip leg day Joe.

He looks good.

Low carb diets are not very effective for me because I've never been a high-carb eater. For my friends who are bread and potato eaters it seems to work.

Time to start calling Democrats who still eat meat "Global Warming Deniers." That's right. Tolerance is over.

I am about 98 percent carnivore have been for a couple three years. About 25 lbs lighter feel great and on no meds at 66 years. It works for me. I am not fanatical about it. If I go out to eat I will pick at the non meat sides and I eat cake at celebration events.

The really tough one is the Paleolithic Ketogenic Diet (PKD) pushed by the Hungarian clinic Paleomedicina. Depending on the person, it can run from 0% - 30% carbohydrate. The distinguishing feature of the diet is the huge fat load -- 2 to 1 fat to protein by weight, which is about 4 1/2 to 1 by calories. And we're not talking vegetable oil here. The group prefers animal fats, so tallow, lard, suet. Dairy is not allowed, so no butter, cheese, or sweet or sour cream. Nutritional supplements aren't allowed either. The diet includes organ meat, especially liver and brains (for vitamin C).

I believe Jordan Peterson's daughter, Mikhaila, went on this version of the meat-only diet, and it relieved her lifelong rheumatoid arthritis. She cannot even eat green vegetables. My favorite nutrition / physiology blogger Hyperlipid tried the diet recently after many years of eating a version of Jan Kwasnieski's Optimal Diet, which is borderline ketogenic. He has found additional benefits from the meat-only PKD.

I am very low carb / high saturated fat, but I do the dairy thing. Tastes too damn good.

Two weeks of diarrhea produces weight loss. In other news, water (like diarrhea) is wet.

No carbs is a hard diet to stay on- I like bread too much, as well as things like potatoes, rice, pasta etc. I could be satified with a grill steak or salmon every day with asparagus or broccoli, but that is pricey- in other words, I could do all my eating at Outback, but I would have to budget other things out of my life.

This approach to diet—radically reducing carbohydrates—goes back much farther than Atkins. In the 19th century there was Banting’s letter on corpulence, which I learned about from Gary Taubes. A formerly obese man described his success on a diet devised by a French physician for diabetes treatment. It became a runaway success: avoid sugar, starch and beer, eating meat, some vegetables and dry wine. The word Banting entered the lexicon, but was somehow forgotten for a century until Taubes unearthed it in his research. For my part, I know all people are different and may react differently to foods, I’ve had enormous success in terms of weight and energy Mgmt on any high fat/low carb diet, whether the fats we mostly dairy or meat or veg (eg avocado). And no matter how clean or whole the carbs, they make me lethargic and fat.

Joe once said on his show that he only eats meat from animals that he personally hunts.

Yancey Ward said...

McCullough is correct- those legs aren't getting the same attention the upper body is getting. Probably a result of those weak looking knees.

Joe said...

I tried the Keto diet with the help of a trainer. Had no effect on weight and, after an initial positive experience, made my anxiety much worse. On top of that, it sapped my energy and I found that I lost my endurance in the gym. Worse, I was on the verge of getting serious injuries. My trainer ignored all of that. I ended up leaving that gym and returning to a balanced diet. The immediate effect was amazing, but it took a few weeks to fully recover from that disaster.

Rogan better keep whatever kind of talk show he already has, because looking like that he's not going to get any acting jobs. He doesn't look like he can emote much.

I've never heard of an explosive shits issue with Atkins diet. I would have thought an all meat diet would be more prone to the opposite: seeking explosives

William said...

There's something unbalanced about his body. The upper body strength denotes not strength but vulnerability, like he's trying desperately to overmaster some dark force within. He looks muscular, but the muscles are out of proportion to the challenges of his life.

Howard is the first person I've ever read who has concern for legs "getting in the way" of sex. Sounds like you're doing it wrong. And you have skinny legs and that's the best shit you can come up with to justify it. Either way. I nearly pity you.

Joe has legs like an Illini offensive lineman. That is not a compliment.
