Indeed. It's a good development. Vox hilariously tried to scaremonger over it with their article, Trump’s rule creating a wealth test for immigrants is now in effect but actually helped make the case with quotes like:
"But Julia Gelatt, a senior policy analyst at the Migration Policy Institute, a nonpartisan think tank, told Vox that 69 percent of the roughly 5.5 million people who were granted green cards over the past five years would have had at least one negative factor under the rule — which officials could have used as justification to reject their applications for immigration benefits."
"The rule, which has been anticipated for more than a year, has had a chilling effect already: Noncitizens have been needlessly dropping their public benefits out of fear that they will face immigration consequences. It’s difficult to quantify just how many immigrants have unenrolled already, but one survey suggested that about one in seven had done so as of 2018."

I keep hearing the show is no good. I haven't watched any of it but am still considering diving in.
There is the theory that the Gothos alien was a Q.
Of course, I'm of the opinion that the Q were actually demons -- fallen angels who had their delusions of godhood.

C.S. Lewis once said that, whenever you look at another person, you are looking at a creature who will either be, in eternity, a beloved friend of God whose wonderful nature is almost too much to comprehend, or someone who won't.
He said that most people, including himself, are unable to process that way of looking at our fellow creatures.
That being said, there are lots of young people today who might be alive when Jesus returns: they are not dust, and they shall not return to dust. Believe it or not, the Book of Revelation is the most cheerful book in the Bible, line for line. Think about how happy you would be to know your children or grandchildren or great-grandchildren will be alive when Jesus returns to make the earth and heavens new again!
As for me, in my 60s, a smoker, with major health issues, yeah, I guess I am gonna return to dust fairly soon. Doesn't really bother me at all. God gives us eternal life, which is more important than the physics and chemistry issues involved with the Biblical "returning to dust" which probably awaits me in the next few years, or the next decade or two at most.
That being said, I do really worry about things like bedbug infestations and stuff like that. I recommend being really vigilant about bedbugs, even if you are rich, they are clever little creatures when more than one or two of them get together. But they can't succeed if you are vigilant.

That is a good theory about the Q, I remember one episode where one of them described his life as being like reading decades old fashion and life-style magazines over and over again, and then reading them over and over again.
On the other hand there are those old Japanese watercolorists who lament the fact that they will not live to be 120 because they just began to understand how to paint when they were in their 60s or 70s or 80s or 90s or even later. I think I am quoting Hokusai or HIroshige.

i forget which commenter said it, I forget if it was here or at one of the other places I used to comment, when I said my favorite books of the Bible are the letters to the Ephesians and to the Philippians (think of how much Paul really cared about those people he was writing to, God I would so much love to care about other people as much as Saint Paul did) and the commenter said well my favorite books are Genesis and Revelation, the beginning of all of our stories and then the beginning of eternity in heaven

Mostly true, but that’s partly because once a young person has some serious accomplishments there is a lot of pressure to get involved in non-productive activities. The first rate engineer or scientist gets turned into a mediocre manager. The brilliant young professor gets invited to join program committees for international conferences and is expected to join faculty committees.
But not to worry, Narr. The world is full of late bloomers. My father was just another member of the sales force for a large corporation, but then management noticed that he was top salesman in a number of annual contests, and he was invited to take a position in HQ. After that he rocketed up the org chart and retired as a corporate officer.
God, I'm glad I don't live in the Midwest. I know, it's beautiful two seasons of the year and I miss the fireflies but, in the PNW, we're on the fine cusp of spring. Not a moment too soon.

I passed through the border (by land) from both Namibia and from RSA in the last week to Botswana. The Coronavirus screening was organized and well equipped. There was no screening entering Namibia or RSA. It’s unsurprising that Botswana is the most prepared country in the neighbourhood, even though they can’t test yet.
There’s a fair bit of anticipation here, knowing there’s limited ability to care for the seriously ill. The very ill or injured here normally are flown (free, paid by the government) to RSA. That obviously won’t be happening if the virus takes hold, so the outcome statistics here will be new territory.

They don't know the characters or even like the franchise. Kurtzman said he only saw part of one episode at a friend's house. Didn't even say he liked it. He and Akiva Goldsman are hacks that just steal things from movies and TV over the last decade or so that they think are cool, and mash them all together. They deny that at first then talk about "homage" when they are sick of talking about theft. Picard is stealing the design of the new ship from The Expanse (as well as some plot elements and looks). Heck, they added a sword-weiding elf from Lord of the Rings, FFS,(Elrond). They named him Elnor and made him a Romulan because that's the extent of their creativity. And there are dozens of additional ripoff because they don't know or like ST canon and they are only interested in making their characters and aesthetic marketable to collectible manufactures. They destroy legacy ST characters because the new crap doesn't sell. The companies in charge of the IPs don't know or like what they own and always get talked into turning it into something more profitable, like Star Wars--before their own vandals killed that franchise. In real life, as short time ago, Patrick Stewart appeared with Jeri Ryan on a talk show and didn't even know who she was and that her character wore catsuits. He has admitted to not watching his own show, much less any of the others. And apparently he didn't even look around when he spent thousands of hours at the Paramount studios and office to see Jeri Ryan on Voyager promotional art. Stewart doesn't care what they do to Picard or Star Trek as long as he can take wipes against Brexit and Trump, and his big checks cash.

It is possible to address a crisis without causing panic. In fact, the more competently you behave in preparing and executing a plan to deal with the crisis the less panic you will incite or cause.
