Bernie Sanders raised $34.5 million in the fourth quarter, the most of any candidate so far.

NBC News reports.

Buttigieg raised $24.7, and Andrew Yang’s rasied more than $12.5 million.

We haven't heard from Biden and Warren yet. I'm especially interested in hearing what Warren was able to raise. If Bernie has far overshadowed her, it ought to cause those who want a solidly left-wing nominee to shift to Bernie.

Who are all these people giving to Bernie?
For the final three months of the year, Sanders donors most often listed their occupation as “teacher.” The five most common employers of people who contributed to the campaign were Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, the U.S. Postal Service and Target. The senator routinely criticizes Amazon and Walmart for the pay and benefits they give workers.
ADDED: If it is true that Bernie and not Warren is the left-wing choice, why is that happening? I'll sketch out all the reasons I can think of off-hand and put them in a survey. I'm limiting you to one choice to make the results more interesting. Pick the strongest reason (not the most interesting reason!):

Why might left-leaning Democrats prefer Sanders to Warren. Pick the strongest answer.

First define what a market is.

"Where supply and demand are mediated." Nope. try again.

@Rusty:

Nope. try again.

And what, pray tell, is lacking from that definition?

Because the big-money donors know that, his rhetoric aside, Bernie is basically a standard-issue Democrat, and, like Obama, he will not try to govern from the left if he wins office, but from a more centrist position.

That would be Biden - or maybe Buttigieg. Bernie keeps saying his contributors are the small fry, with the average contribution about $27. I don't know if he's telling the truth, but it's possible that he is. So maybe the big boys aren't contributing to him after all.

Of course, it's possible that Bernie won't have the energy or the focus or the presence of mind or the physical capability to get much of anything done as president. But there will be a lot of angry leftists out there if he gets elected and turns out to be a status-quo president.

Bernie blew his chance in 2016. He may have won it all if he could have stood up to Felonia Von Pantsuit and her scummy bathroom server/political bribery scam but was cowed like the beta male he is. This 77 year old man has already had 1 heart attack on the campaign trail, does anyone think that will be his last?

Now, that there is funny. I don't care who you are? Is there anyone in politics less impressive than that sore loser? Democrats love their losers, becuase they don't value merit or what it tells you about someone.

If Bernie picks someone like Hank Johnson as a running mate, there will be no stopping him.

No, seriously. Both men are smart enough that you can put either one at the top of the ticket and end up with a seriously intelligent and accomplished team of problem solvers for the 21st Century. Politician/Scientist/Philosopher Kings for a brave new world of promise.

Ah, of course.

I guess you've run out of lies to peddle.

Check in with Banned Commenter LLR-lefty Chuck. He's always good for a couple more lefty talking point lies.

i am one of the many that got bernie the michigan primary win. i even went door-to-door for him. then he seemed not to notice the back room machinations that cost him the nomination. what else won't he notice? warren can look you straight in the eye and lie. quite a useful skill when defending big piles of money in court. her brainchild, the CFPB, was skillfully written to not be any one of the 3 branches of Constitutional authorities. trump will give both of them campaign trail heart attacks with little or no effort based on these facts.

that said, zuckergerg wants mayor pete. who cares what anyone else wants? ever since zuck came here to south bend in 2017 to hang with mayor pete for a day or two i have been of the opinion that zuck wants pete. maybe not for the win, he's got time for that to come later. for now, all those voters who prefer polished speech get to revel in circular logic.

The inability to define what free markets should mean is quite hilarious.
Private citizens with proper rights to negotiate toward their own best interests without government interference?
That seems too complicated.

Imagining that exists across international borders is silly.
There is no such thing as international law.
