Trump says he likes the idea of testifying in "the phony Impeachment Witch Hunt."

What could possibly go wrong?

It's likely even fewer people will tune in to the hearings now in anticipation of the main act, Trump.

She also said I could do it in writing.

Trump will get the last laugh when it's in a note tied to a rock thrown through her office window.

OY.
Tell Pelosi to pound sand. Nothing until the Whistle-blower testifies.

*As Liar Adam Schitt(D) promised.

Schitt promised the whistleblower on a silver platter.

I think Trump needs to provide a summary of his defense.

first it was the whistle blower! and the Phone Call!
then Trump released the transcripts, and then those were passe

THEN! it was the second whistle blower! and the second Phone Call!
Then, more transcripts; and THOSE were passe

NOW! it's: We're going to DEMAND that Trump testify!
And, he says: SURE; and suddenly written answers will be fine, thanx

Must really bum them out, that he keeps putting stuff in the open (unlike schiffty schift)

Michael K said...

I doubt this is a good idea unless he has a plan to condition this on open testimony by Ciamarella or the supposed "whistleblower."

rcocean said...

Agree. Trump should only appear, if Eric Ciaremella, the whistleblower apppears.

rcocean said...

I remember Ford testified about the Pardon in front of Congress. Don't remember any POTUS since that's done it. Certainly Billy Bob Clinton didn't.

AllenS said...

Would someone help me out here, I can't recall what Trump is charged with.

Seeing Red said...

A summary of his defense includes what areas are the president’s purview.

State Dept -replaceable ambassadors do not have more authority than the President.

MadisonMan said...

AllenS, the apt question is "What is he charged with this week?" Because you know that as soon as he testifies about something, the Democrats will charge him with something else.
Appearing before Congress is a bad idea (so naturally it's something Pelosi thought of)

tim maguire said...

In writing, maybe. In person, absolutely not.

rcocean said...

Trump is charged with acting Republican while being President.

Its usually a hanging offense, but impeachment will suffice.

I have not watched Deface the Nation in over 20 years. These left-wing loon shows hold no interest for me. I love TRUMP, he fights, unlike Pussy Bush and Traitor McCain (traitor to his party and constituents, that is)

The D's have yet to go through Trump's tax returns, and find some crimes hidden therein. Then there's the embollullent clause, which no one understands, but is very, very, criminal. And some bimbo will no doubt pop up to claim Trump raped her in 1995 in a Walmart photo booth.

Dave Begley said...

Calling out the clowns. I like it.

rcocean said...

As AllenS stated, there is no crime, so Trump's testimony can't hurt him. There was no crime with Mueller either, but that didn't stop all the legal beagles from inventing some, and criticizing Trump for being "reckless" and "Obstructing the investigation".

According, to Fox's Judge Napoliano Trump has already committed at least 100 crimes in office, and should be in prison for life. In fact, every week the Judge finds a new crime that no one else sees. He's a legal genius.

Karen of Texas said...

Trump has to dangle the possibility of testifying because he's using what Nancy said as a springboard to get his message out.  See how he points out that Congress is doing nothing - look at the listed things Trump implies he supports. He's getting that out there because it wouldn't get air time any other way. Most blokes are going to look at "...USMCA, infrastructure, lower drug pricing & much more?") and think hey, I want lower drug prices. And the rework of NAFTA means no great sucking sound of jobs south. And our infrastructure sucks - I'm sick of potholes and rolling blackouts - and that means jobs, too.

Therein lies the problem.

This is not a trial. The trial happens in the Senate. This is supposed to be evidence gathering/fact finding.

Francisco D said...

If I were Trump, I would ask to be impeached so that there could be a trial where rules of evidence apply instead of rules of Media/DNC/LLR bullshit.

If we allow the MSM/DNC/LLR complex to destroy a duly elected POTUS, we are truly fucked. All power has then been transferred to our "betters" who will make all of our decisions for us.

This. They're DemocRATs they won't back down, even if it means a full blown trial in the Senate. That's not something they want when they've got four Senators running for President.

The level of scandal implied by the Democratics hair-on-fire spectacle has me modestly interested.

I cannot be enthused because Deep State actors will likely operate to protect their own, of course.

I can't remember that far back

This is the prototypical Trump move. He would never testify. He does this type of "strongly consider" thing all the time, and the media fall for it every time.

I play a lot of online chess. I’m so-so (1300) but I beat better players more often than weaker ones because I employ the a certain strategy: I don’t make the expected moves. The better players — let’s call them “elite “ — have difficulty dealing with moves that aren’t sanctioned. They expect certain openings, certain trades, castling at certain times, etc. and when they face a foe who doesn’t play by those unwritten Rules of Queensbury, they’re flustered.

Trump does this all the time. Nancy thought she’d forced Trump’s hand here but he received it and upped the ante. The last thing Dems need is Trump on the witness stand. They may not realize that yet, but I’m telling you, it will not work out to their advantage.

We are witnessing the greatest performance artist in the history of the presidency.

Stephen said...

What a fake! Trump will never testify under oath. It would be a disaster for him.

mockturtle said...

M Jordan: I like your chess analogy and it certainly does apply to Trump. As I have previously observed, the 16th Century Japanese daimyo/warrior Nobunaga won by the same tactic, using totally unorthodox and unexpected moves against his adversaries.

Would it be possible, Howard, for you to cite a statute that Trump has violated? Or, if you are unable to do that, could you please provide us with a case law precedent for your wild ass acquisitions that would hold Trump guilty of what, exactly?

AllenS said...

"acquisitions" I meant "assumptions" which is kinda close, somewhat close.

Allen S. No, but the impeachment standard is so broad, they don't need no stinking statutes. It's reality TV theater that I am not watching. I think we need to defeat Trump on the campaign trail and quit taking the shinny juicy bait he keeps trolling.

Who would not want to "testify" under the Shitt rules?

Shitt asks all the questions, and the Republicans are blocked.

They applaud people like YoYo who have zero knowledge of the incident in question.

Its a court when they want it to be (witness tampering tweets) and not a court when convenient (no due process, no standard of evidence).

Sure, sign me up!
