We had one of these last week. Fortunately we live on top of the mountain. The bottom dwellers didn't fair so well. Washed out the road in several places. Some homes not reachable. Happens every few years. Our township road crew can rebuild our dirt road in about 2 days.
but put the exact latitude and longitude of your house in it, say copy from a GPS, (rather than madison in general), turn off labels if they're on, and you'll get a nice X where your house is and nothing but weather all around.
We had a fast moving storm rush in yesterday morning about this same time time. Low clouds, flying fast, moved in under a high overcast. There was a strange yellow cast to the predawn. Lightening and thunder. Very dramatic. Then it turned almost as dark as night, the wind hit and the branches came down along with much hail I started to think I'd have to shovel the driveway. Ten minutes later it was gone.
It's the new normal weather since Global Cooling rearranged the Jet Stream into a series of dives bringing cold air into the south alternately blocking the warm air going north. It snows in one wave and blocks the heat inside the next one for weeks at a time with lots of rain on the edges

Out here we NEED that rain. Shame on you for not sharing!
We had a bad drought last decade when a month of storms would split at the SC border and go up either side of us.
Climate Doom approaches.

I can avert it, but you'll need to bring me a sacrificial virgin.

Jet Stream
Rossby waves. You get them when your planet rotates. Nothing about global warming/cooling.
I flew out of Madison yesterday morning. Glad it wasn't today.

This event was pretty well-forecast by some of the models. Yesterday afternoon's was not.

Ha! I've always suspected you're from a different planet.
Yeah, fun commute this morning across the Hoan. Not!

Yeah, when you have enough models, one of them is likely to get it "right".
It's still raining...
