in Berwyn, we had one right next door (other side of chain link fence) in our postage stamp sized lawns. We never had interaction..merely witnessing the gargantuan dung piles it would leave to be infested by flies.
Of course, it was much more benevolent than the German Shepherds that, after attacking a sibling in the alley, warranted us erecting a solid planked "fence"/wall/barrier.
I still remember how normal it became to innocently play in our yard while those beasts would repeatedly throw their bodies at that "fence"/wall/barrier.
Now..that doesn't begin to get into the eventual adoption of more and more exotic/dangerous animals on the other side of that "fence"/wall/barrier (a home based catering op), the tipping point being a lion cub that prompted a lengthy fight for an ordinance to illegalize such animals...to the thanks of nearby municipalities experiencing same.

A video showing a [biggly] rodent trapped in the change dispenser of an MTA MetroCard vending machine is just the latest indignity for Big Apple straphangers.

The roughly 10-second clip posted to Instagram by user subwaycreatures shows the pest struggling to lift a clear plastic cover that kept it trapped inside the change return slot of a ticket machine at an unknown subway station.

“OMG!” tweeted Council Speaker Corey Johnson, who last week proposed the mayor take over the subway system.

The footage proves the crumbling MTA is a literal rattrap, commenters said.

“Rats carry all kind of germs- no thank you. What is the MTA doing with our money,” one commenter wrote on Instagram.

Another said: “I will now be double checking the metro card machines.”

The MTA suggested someone may have “planted” the animal.

“This is very troubling and we’re looking into how it could’ve happened, including the possibility that someone may have planted it,” said MTA spokesman Andrei Berman. “This is clearly an anomaly and the recent Subway Action Plan, Group Station Manager program and deep clean program have been helping to get stations significantly cleaner.”
