I have to confess something that is a little disturbing, and embarrassing, but that I find hilarious. Please take this in a spirit of openness and humor.

Last night I had a dream about Althouse. I don't know how I ended up in Madison, but I ran in to her somewhere there. She was pleasantly tipsy and proceeded to ask me to come home with her. She said her and Meade we having issues, and he was away. We went to what seemed like a small apartment. We talked some and I decided to take a shower. I go to the bathroom, get naked, and pull open the shower curtain, and there is a naked young Arnold Schwarzenegger. He's friendly. We shake hands (naked in the running steamy shower.) I then proceed to berate him for his stint as governor of California. I ask him: "what the hell happened to you back then?" As he begins to answer, I wake up.

WTF is wrong with me?

Meade said...

Ms. Morales tells the NYT she has worked at Trump's golf course in Bedminster, NJ for the past five years.

I have an answer to her problems. She should go home or the government should expeditiously deport her to Guatemala, her home country. I am tired of being taken advantage by illegal aliens. Enough with their cost to taxpayers and our civil society. Enforce our immigration laws now!

I once had a dream about Althouse and described it back here nearly 10 years ago.

I think the context was Althouse becoming/being a famous artist. I repost it here:

I had a dream several weeks ago with Althouse in it. She had boughten something (ebay, garage sale?) from me years ago and had written me a check, which I had never cashed. In the dream I was planning to visit Madison to see relatives and I made a point to look up Althouse to ask whether the check was still good. She agreed to meet me. When I met her, she was sitting alone at a bar. When I explained to her about the check, she listened. When I finished, she just turned and looked at me and said: "but aren't you glad you didn't cash it?" I slunk away, shriveled.

One line represents Amber Heard’s physical beauty, which is said to be epiphenomenal on sources outside of her. The other line represents her sexuality, which emanates from within. And yet, they bear some relationship one to the other. She was trying to explain this to her makeup artist who just wasn’t getting it. Frustrated, Amber grabbed an eyeliner pencil and deftly sketched in these lines on a tissue as a visual aid to illustrate her point and to show how the two concepts do relate.

Tucker Carlson doesn't like Donald Trump, so he isn't long for Faux News. Wapo reports:

Urs Gehriger, an editor at “Die Weltwoche,” Switzerland’s leading German-language opinion weekly, noted that Carlson’s new book, “Ship of Fools,” is silent on Trump but comments on his critics. And so, Gehriger jump-started the conversation by asking what Carlson thought of Trump’s first two years in office.

Carlson said he cannot stand Trump’s self-aggrandizement and boasting. Then, when asked whether Trump has kept his promises, the usually quick-witted and long-winded Carlson had just one word: “No.”

gadfly, you of course realize that Tucker Carlson also rejects everything that you believe in as regards politics and economics? In fact, the only reason Carlson did not reserve for you a cabin on his "Ship of Fools" is because you are too insignificant to have come to his attention. So, how does Carlson rejecting Trump's self-aggrandizement and boasting validate your own political philosophy? And, if his philosophical positions do not validate your own, how does the WaPo's opinion give you such obvious satisfaction? Moreover, does it seem logical to you that a network would cancel the third most watched program on cable news because his opinion of Trump, but keep people like Cris Wallace and Shep Smith who are consistently and overtly anti-Trump? Do you not realize that Fox News is without question the more balanced cable news network as regards Trump? And, if you think it more biased than MSNBC or CNN, can you name the pro-Trump anchors on either of those networks? Have you even tried to think this through? Or is your post just a vehicle for you to say na na na na na na to those that don't share your opinion or politics?

Lefties are such a curious species.

Gil, I have Lake Ray Hubbard right out my patio door. I go out in the late morning and get a couple stripers for a fish taco lunch.

We don't do much fly fishing in Texas. Although they stock streams down here with rainbow trout, there just aren't any good places near here. Texas is enormous, so when we go down to the Hill Country for dove or deer hunting, we will hit up some small streams there and sometimes the Brazos.

Most of our Texas fishing is lakes. Texoma, Towakoni, and Ray Hubbard.

When we really want to enjoy fly fishing, we go up to Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and Montana. It's so good to get away.

After living together the last couple of years, we finally got married a few weeks ago on a big old catamaran on our lake, and our honeymoon coming up is going to be red fish in Louisiana.

I've never fished down there before, and I'm really looking forward to it!

on the grey reef, i think of it as a indicator river; basically with things like san juan worms. There's so much food in the water, that the trouts seldom come up.

However, i usually go in march and may (before and after the spawn), in the fall, there's often dry flies (especially if you count hoppers as dries). And the guides are always pushing Streamers (i HATE streamers!) 'cause they get tired of watching bobbers (i Love bobbers!)
There were quite a few BWO hatches this year, and this sept there was an grasshopper infestation; which Rocked!

You really need a drift boat, and i always go through http://platteriverguides.com/. They've been guiding since the longest, and (i think) have the best guides. The only problems with the north platte are
A) indicators (if you think that's a problem)
B) it's in the freakin' Desert! (which might not bother texans)
C) cookie cutter fish (nearly all the trouts are between 17-21", it's rare to get ones bigger)

gilbar said...

oh, and the 'miracle mile' is just upstream from the grey reef; it has great dry flies (IF you time it right, as it is with dry flies). There's a Golden Stone fly hatch that no one will talk about; on account of because it's none of your business :)
