"This Monday night (10-29-18) about 60 cop-hating, race-obsessed social justice warriors shut down the school board meeting," writes David Blaska.
Freedom Inc., International Socialists, and Progressive Dane flooded the zone with speaker after speaker F-bombing the school board, cops, Racist America, and white people in general. They mocked board president Mary Burke for mispronouncing difficult Hmong names scrawled on the speaker slips...
Mary Burke. You remember Mary Burke. 4 years ago she was the Democratic Party's nominee for Wisconsin governor.
The school board recessed in a futile attempt to restore order but after reconvening the Far-Left mob accelerated its tactics, marching down to the proscenium at the seven members (the eighth, a non-voting student rep), its superintendent and district counsel. They unfurled their banners, shouted their chants, and pounded their fists.
I don't know anything about the Metro Madison School District, but has this sort of thuggery been effective in the past? Do these mobsters generally get what they want (whatever that may be) when they behave this way?
As a general rule bad behavior should never be rewarded, unless you want to encourage more of it.
The school board is weak and ineffective. The police SHOULD be dragging these miscreants out. But, the school board is afraid of them. The citizens/parents who pay the bills lose. Thugs win!
The inmates have taken over the asylum. And every time they get away with it the more we'll see of it. Of course, stopping it would require 'fascist' tactics, which is what these SJWs are really after. This is the kind of shit we did in the 60's so I'm very familiar with the ploy. Let's get the cops to beat us over the head with nightsticks by hurling rocks, bottles and aspersions at them. It's all about peace and love.
You are right- what was I thinking that the media would show this thru-out the state? Doh! I forgot, for a moment, about the MSM phalanx which embargoes news that is critical of Dems.
The moderate Left ... are always the first victims of the hard Left.
The first order of competing interests and common cause, and constructed with large, monolithic blocs, are first-order forcings of catastrophic anthropogenic local (and global) climate change.
Is there no place in Wisconsin where Madison can relocate its obstreperous minorities? It isn't like socialist governments haven't successfully dealt with these sorts of problems before.
Well, on the basis that liberals kowtow to radical leftists in the hope that "the crocodile will eat them last," the Dane Co., WI crocodile seems to be moving right along.
But I do wonder what they were asking for. Tony Evers has been in charge of education in Wisconsin for the last ten years. Evers is running for governor, seeking to bring his magic to other public policy issues. Wisconsin blacks have some of the worst high school graduation rates in the country although this spring, as Evers began his race for governor, these rates rose by 14% for no reason anybody knows.
Foxconn is hiring blacks with a high school degree in Racine and has charted out a specific plan for training them and making sure that those who want to, rise. The papers have never covered the program. Evers hates Foxconn.
I think Portlandia is the biggest "white city" amongst the "big cities." Madison can only be winning in the Minors. Our progressiveness and white guilt may be the same, though. How big is your Antifa?
I think the school system should let these folks keep protesting, further stalling the budget process, causing the schools to close due to lack of a budget.
Then, round up all the pissed off parents, give them pitchforks and torches, and send them after the protestors. Hell hath no fury like a parent with a kid at home and they have got to get to work.
Here's a suggestion for school boards, city councils, and other public venues that are getting shouted down by protesters- conduct the meeting as a live stream blog and project the comments from board members and participating individuals on a screen in the meeting hall, just like in a classroom. It's a public venue and the entire community will be able to watch and participate. The technology is readily available, and the protesters can simply keep shouting while the chairman types out "The meeting will now come to order. The first item on the agenda is.... We will now see a comment from Citizen X- Thank you Citizen X. Does anyone on the board have a question for citizen X? Protesters can shout so loud you can hear others speak, they can block entrance to a particular venue, but it's much harder to keep people from typing or the keep the entire community from having access to the online streaming of the meeting. If they aren't able to disrupt the meeting, they will eventually go away, no police needed.
Every once in a while my husband and I get homesick for Madison and contemplate moving back. Then I see videos like this and remember why there is absolutely no way we would ever move back to that toxic environment. I am so glad we aren't raising our children in that environment.
"flooded the zone with speaker after speaker F-bombing the school board, cops, Racist America, and white people in general."
The "anti"-racists fully indulging in racism once again. I'm not an American but I do wonder, especially considering your (insane) litigation culture, why these so-called 'anti'-racists aren't flooded with anti-discrimination lawsuits.
Btw, seeing that 'Public Education' is built on the condition that there is a common ground and since that common ground no longer seems to exist I would say keep a heavy restricted 'public' option as a safety net and privatize the thing as much as possible.
I would say keep a heavy restricted 'public' option as a safety net and privatize the thing as much as possible.
That's pretty much what is happening with the charter school movement.
We have a candidate for Governor here in Arizona who is a former Superintendent of Public Instruction who sends his kids to charter schools. About a third or more of public school teachers send their kids to private schools or charters.
In Tucson the school district was trying to sell an unused school to a developer who would tear it down and build apartments so that a charter school group could not buy it and use it as a school.
Mary Burke, former Democrat candidate for governor can't conduct a school board meeting and pass a budget. Just imagine what Democrat candidate Tony Evers will be able to do if elected governor.
Yeah. I have zero sympathy. You allowed nutjobs, malcontents and radicals define the party in '68 and legalized and normalized them hijacking actual governance and now you get what you have coming.
So hopefully Madison becomes an ungovernable shithole. Because it takes serious pain for Democrats to self criticize and self reflect...I mean in more than a navel gazing, 'oh woe is me' sort of self pity.
Here's a suggestion for school boards, city councils, and other public venues that are getting shouted down by protesters...If they aren't able to disrupt the meeting, they will eventually go away, no police needed.
I like a simpler method: Arrest them. Make them pay bail money. Make them have (larger) records. Make them have to go to the court system. Put a few in jail.
As long as they suffer NO pain, they will keep doing it, warming themselves on 'puttin' it to the Man!' and 'Screaming the Truth to Powah!'
Because they have a script in their heads and that script needs derailing by suddenly transitioning from 'radical white lefty chick banging a black radical to prove she isn't racist' to becoming 'Inmate 53167'.
Absolutely appalling behavior. My unsolicited advice to the Professor and Mr. Meade; get out. Get out now. I foresee a future of declining property values and increased property taxes. You've stated previously that you'd consider moving. I live in the Portland area (not recommending it), but Bend is very nice- although also progressive. Prineville might appeal for a more conservative citizenry.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving place.
Nutbaggery. Glad I left in '88.
Where were the fire hoses ?
Too late to spank 'em now.
Maybe the board could lure them to a pancake eating contest.
Seen similar, but not quite as intense.
The most interesting scenes at SF school board meetings was when the left was protesting, effectively, not the board but groups of Asian parents.
This case you've got in Madison seems to be about someone wanting a payoff.
Phoney-baloney jobs probably.
That will turn the state blue.
Baldwin have her resume polished up?
They seem nice.
"Nutbaggery."
Nope. They are after something.
No, no mob here. Definitely not a mob.
Sown. Reaped.
Schadenfreude alert!!!

These protesters do not care about the children.
Unison chanting is so. Creepy.
This must be a brilliant Republican false flag operation?
I love it!!!
The moderate Left never seems to learn the lesson of history: they are always the first victims of the hard Left. Always.
If that's the sort of behavior that's tolerated in Wisconsin, it's no wonder the Brewers lost. (Expect the Packers to continue their slide.)
Ironically, the Waukesha School Board, which is much more conservative, never has this problem.
The school board is weak and ineffective.
The police SHOULD be dragging these miscreants out.
But, the school board is afraid of them.

Get in their face.
So they did.
Dickin' asserts: Unison chanting is so. Creepy.
I don't know. I rather like the sound of "Lock her up!" and "Build that wall"!
And they were allowed to disrupt the meeting why?
This is what Democracy looks like.
Did they chant that too?
"This must be a brilliant Republican false flag operation?"
To what end? It wouldn't matter what the mob does, the Republicans are only going to get their allotted 237 votes in Madison anyway.
"They mocked board president Mary Burke for mispronouncing difficult Hmong names scrawled on the speaker slips..."
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAA-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Dem POCs shure loves some dem singin' 'n' rhymin'!
It's a good thing if it keeps them from spending.
I've been getting quite a few Schadenboners from stuff like this lately.
Venezuela on Mendota.
Did Inga drive over to attend? (Probably not, as she is still pissed at Walker for killing light rail.)
Mary Burke can't pronounce "Ng"?
No budget? Shut 'em down. Kids will like it. It's not like there is any educational value in attending a shithole like that anyway.
Speaking of Mendota, there's one in California with a similar problem;
https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/271736/ms-13-inflicts-reign-terror-california-lloyd-billingsley
In the past socialism has failed because it wasn't implemented correctly, or so they say.
What is Madison's excuse?
This is what leftist democracy looks like.
The question for the Althouses of the world is whether to vote for Dems who will cave or Reps who'll resist.
"They unfurled their banners, shouted their chants, and pounded their fists."
Isn't that a description of next Tuesday's predicted Blue Wave, which simultaneously is a description of the Democrat Party?
Dem POSs shure loves some dem singin' 'n' rhymin'

But, but, but... It's for the children! -
Even my 92-year-old mother can smell civil war in the air.
I want my racist MTV!
@Bob Boyd "Too late to spank 'em now.
Maybe the board could lure them to a pancake eating contest."
+1 :) :O :0 =0
They unfurled their banners, shouted their chants, and pounded their fists...
...they roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth
and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws...
If every single one of these idiots committed suicide, the world would be a better place.
Enjoy rolling around in your lefty shit, white guilt retards of madison who let this happen.
FWIW, Bob Boyd wins the thread.
One can of pepper spray would have taken care of the problem. Promise that it will happen each time it happens, and they won't come back.
Don't you dare call them a mob.
Wow. Hard to believe that faculty members of the University of Wisconsin would send their kids to those schools. Pure chaos.
"Achilles said...
That will turn the state blue."
You mean keep us blue. We went for Trump. Johnson is a second term Senator. Walker's won three times. We have a solid blue state senate and assembly.
As far as Madison, you reap what you sow. Good.
There should be some skull thumpin'.
Good. Shut down the schools. It's time parents took control of raising their own children, and took responsibility for it.
If they can't afford to raise and educate their own children, or are incapable of doing it themselves, they should put a cork in it.
Is there no place in Wisconsin where Madison can relocate its obstreperous minorities? It isn't like socialist governments haven't successfully dealt with these sorts of problems before.
I guess pointing out that all kids matter would be racist.
Don't you mean red state, Curious George?
Wow. I just watched the video. That's classic. It should be on a permanent loop in every airport in America.
Just Dem pets getting further out of control. They promise they'll do better next time keeping them on message...and on the plantation.
Imagine, if you will, the press coverage if this occurred in Waukesha or Brown Deer.
Why weren't these idiots arrested for creating a public disturbance?
An organized community doing what organized communities do best.
Can't say that would motivate me to support their cause.
Oh, and... I don't know. I rather like the sound of "Lock her up!" and "Build that wall"!
My first thought was "U S A, U S A", but I can agree mockturtle.
Chickens, roosting.

Ooops, I do. Thanks for the catch.
Wow. Hard to believe that faculty members of the University of Wisconsin would send their kids to those schools.
They probably don't.
Although, since Metro Madison is the whitest of the white communities, virtually, in all of America, they might.
Well, on the basis that liberals kowtow to radical leftists in the hope that "the crocodile will eat them last," the Dane Co., WI crocodile seems to be moving right along.
Reminds me of this VDH piece today.

Evidently they don't like that Mary Burke is white. Yet she persisted.
If today's Althouse theme is inadvertant death, who died?
"If every single one of these idiots committed suicide, the world would be a better place."

The next thing to hppen is the parents will start to wonder what they're paying property taxes for. Then you'll see some change.
Bad manners. Are manners a thing in Wisconsin?
The Left in all its batshit glory!
LEFTIES! What Bay Area Guy said.
Aren't Wisconsonites supposed to be normal?
Weasels in a sack.

Yes. But lefties are fscked in the head no matter where you are.
Just checking: Is it civility bullshit to criticize the protesters for preventing the board from passing a budget? Because, you know, always.
