Blame Trump and Trump blames you.

He won't quiet down:
Despite calls for him to cool his overheated rhetoric after the deadly synagogue shooting and pipe bomb mailings, President Trump on Monday continued his assault on the “Fake News Media” by continuing to accuse them of stoking rage.

“There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly,” he wrote on his Twitter account.

“That will do much to put out the flame of Anger and Outrage and we will then be able to bring all sides together in Peace and Harmony. Fake News Must End!,” the president posted, just two days after 11 people were gunned down by a man yelling “all Jews must die” at a Pittsburgh synagogue.
The "calls for him to cool his overheated rhetoric" are what I've been calling "civility bullshit" for years. It's always only aimed at the other side. They want you to stop fighting them with vigor, and they have no intention of stopping fighting you. Trump obviously know this and can't be played. You might think just this once — because 11 people were massacred — he'd go presidential, bow his head, and sing "Amazing Grace," but his opponents didn't refrain from closing right in on him and kicking him, and he kicks back.

As sad as it is to speak politically about a hate-driven massacre of Jews, one poignant moment stands out:

The media is trying to portray anti-antisemitism as a right-wing trait where in recent years it is the mainstream right who is "pro-israel" and the mainstream left who tolerates, and sometimes actively promotes, both anti-Israel views and anti-Semitic individuals.

Personnally, I'm astonished that with 55 (YES!! 55!!) republican House retirements that the dems aren't on track to pick up 60 seats in the first off year election of an opposing party President, when opposition parties usually crush it.

If the dems do take the majority, it won't be by much, setting up a 2 year stretch where Trump goes Executive Order ("I've got a phone and a pen" said someone once) and runs against these idiots.

With the good news that the Senate almost certainly remains in Republican hands.

Lindsay Graham has already said that he will pick up where the House left off in FBI/DOJ/CIA corruption investigations via the Senate Judiciary.

I view the left and the Jews as yet another repeat of a story in the Old Testament: Elijah versus King Ahab. Who was looking out for the Jews in that story? Elijah, prophet of the Lord, or Ahab and his wife Jezebel, worshippers of Baal, Astorah, and the rest of the pantheon?

Any Democrat will tell you that you should listen to Baal, Ahab, and Jezebel--the elites. But what did they actually do for the Jews? They brought drought, famine, and slavery. I.E. economic misery, woe, and loss of freedoms.

Elijah promised freedom by following the Lord. Yet most Jews followed Ahab--self defeating, no?

Oh yes, Elijah didn't do politeness either. And he attacked Baal and the elites without fail. Sound like someone we know?

As long as Trump fights, these people will be willing to defend themselves within the system. If Trump stopped fighting... well, unless someone else appeared to fill the role Trump now occupies, things could get far less civil than they are now. I see no such person on the horizon.

Sigh. What else is new? From the Wiki article about Stalin's infamous Doctors' Trials:

"In his Secret Speech at the Communist Party's Twentieth Congress, Nikita Khrushchev asserted that Stalin intended to use the Doctors' trial to launch a massive purge of the Communist Party. In addition, a number of new labor camps were built in Siberia, allegedly to deport most of the Soviet Jewish population to Siberia, similar to deportations of many other ethnic minorities in the Soviet Union, but the plan was not accomplished because of the sudden death of Stalin. According to Louis Rapoport, the genocide was planned to start from the public execution of the imprisoned doctors, and then the "following incidents would follow": "attacks on Jews orchestrated by the secret police, the publication of the statement by the prominent Jews, and a flood of other letters demanding that action be taken. A three-stage program of genocide would be followed. First, almost all Soviet Jews ... would be shipped to camps east of the Urals . . . Second, the authorities would set Jewish leaders at all levels against one another ... Also the MGB [Secret Police] would start killing the elites in the camps, just as they had killed the Yiddish writers ... the previous year. The ... final stage would be to “get rid of the rest."

And yet, as Red Diaper baby David Horowitz has chronicled, Jewish Communists in NY mourned the death of Stalin.

Why didn't it Steve ? For lefties, wishing makes it so.

The 2013 Gang of Eight immigration bill has become the touchstone for the notion of bipartisan compromise since its demise. But for all of the attention given to the four Democrats and four Republicans who were its main sponsors, the comprehensive approach in which amnesty for all illegal immigrants was tied to border-security measures never garnered support from enough Republicans in Congress.

That’s because Republicans in Congress, and the constituents they represent, distrust the notion that the government could be trusted to secure the border so as to avoid another wave of illegal immigrants once the estimated 11 million already here were given a pass and potentially put on a path to citizenship. The 1986 immigration-reform bill signed by Ronald Reagan was supposed to solve a similar problem. But that amnesty effort merely resulted in another wave of illegal immigrants, who not unreasonably concluded that they, too, wouldn’t have to pay a price for jumping the queue to legally enter the United States.

It was a ploy, Steve. The Dims knew it was never going anywhere but lefties like you still cite it as evidence.

I suspect that White male politicians (especially Republicans) will stick to local offices such as Governor or AG (where there is some accountability) or go into another line of work. If you are a bright, young White male wanting to be in the national spotlight, you may very well get the Kavanaugh treatment.

LOL

The 1986 bill covered funding for the wall and it was never appropriated. The dems know that any bill passed would never result in any wall being built. The funding mechanism was just thrown in there to fool the people by both leaders of both parties.

That bill would also have accelerated chain migration (which is the key), another round of amnesty resulting in millions of uneducated socialist-indoctrinated 3rd worlders becoming rapid democrat voters, accelerated visa lotteries, and the agents would never have been hired.

What a joke.

The interesting thing there is that she is still showing DPS (state troopers) in her ads, just isn't claiming their support. The opposite, maybe, of guilt by association. That was pretty egregious - apparently their union came out in support of her candidacy. The rank and file asked: WTF? They didn't vote on it, and a lot of their members, for very good reason, oppose her. Probably a distinct majority. Why wouldn't they? She backs open borders, sanctuary cities, reducing prison sentences, etc, which are the sort of thing that keep the state police up nights worrying. AZ might not be Ground Zero in the immigration debate, but it is close, with the worst of the social problems caused by our out of control borders falling on law enforcement. As usual, she went to their union leadership, who knee jerk support Democrats for purely private political reasons, bypassing the actual Union membership, whose kids aren't getting into the top schools, etc by bringing along union endorsements for the Democrats.

"Democrats are for open borders. Everyone knows it.

Everyone in the country knew the gang of 8 bill was a globalist hack job with fake border security and widespread amnesty for illegals. "

All you have to look at is how chain migration is being handled by legislation to see if the bill is pro or anti open borders. Throw in amnesty, and you are nearing 100% certainty. Chain migration effectively works by importing entire villages of illiterate peasants, if a single villager somehow gets in. The numbers of illegals will, frankly, not give the Democrats the demographic lock on our politics that they so desperately want. They are battling the reality that Hispanics, in particular, move to the right the longer their families are here, in this country, and the more they assimilate. And assimilate they do, far better than, for example, Blacks. This time of year, we live in a new subdivision that is over half Hispanic, mostly second generation, with maybe their first generation parents living with them (and their third generation munchkins). It could be anywhere else in suburbia, except there seems to be more pride of ownership (e.g. no weeds in the entire subdivision), you do hear the occasional Spanish language and music. Plus, everyone is such an entrepreneur. For the most part, they could be easily dropped into a majority White subdivision anywhere in the country, without really a ripple.

1) A Wall. You can't turn a wall off with an Executive order, like you can Ice. You can't turn a wall off with an off switch like you can drones. A wall is a wall and compared to the boondoggles Dems have paid for before, it is cheap.

2) No Chain Migration beyond one generation and one blood 'jump'. Jose can bring in his wife, his kids and his parents...if they pass the screening. Maybe his brother and sister. But the NAIL is set at Jose. If Pablo gets in, he does not get to pull in his wife's brothers and his wife's parents. One jump from Jose as the Patron.

3) E-Verify

4) An audit of the California voting rolls. They stink to high heaven. You know who is scared of an audit? Crooks!

I would even offer that AMNESTY is given to any crooked findings in California's voting rolls...but they crooked practices have to stop and the malefactors lose their jobs (and their reputations). But no jail for them. Seems fair.

In return, the Dreamers you care OH SO MUCH about and the 11 million others get to stay...with a legal codicil that there is a moratorium on any amnesty for 40 years and removing it requires a 2/3 majority in both houses.

And we'll even throw in welfare for the bastards. But no voting for 10 years.

Unfortunately you can turn off a wall, just by removing the guards.
An unmanned, unwatched wall will have portals torn into it, ramps will be bulldozed, tunnels dug. Or, indeed, a government could just administratively open or liberalize access through the already existing border crossings.

Under the present political alignment, it is certain that the next Democratic administration will do just that. It is to their political benefit to import a population that will vote for them.

In most cases, calls for civility are BS. However, at some point you have to call them on their calls for civility.

I didn't vote for Trump (or Her Highness). So this is coming from a "probably not Trumper"...

Pre-election, Trump would say something impolitic. It wasn't good. Definitely a "foot in the mouth" kind of thing. On its own it would have a sufficient attack surface to do some damage.

But, he would be accused of saying or meaning things he clearly (based on the whole context of the statement). For example, he's been labeled a homophone and a racist. Neither of which seem to actually fit with anything he's actually done or advocated for/against. He is accused, without facts in evidence, of things that aren't true.

They feed Trump Derangement Syndrome. And worse, by inaccurately reporting on what he's actually said and/or done they provide him with ammunition to call Fake News - and he's correct. They're making things up. Then they complain that he's attacking "journalists" when they're clearly not being objective in their reporting.

Honest, objective reporting would have probably sunk Trump before the election. But the TDS fever's incubation period was too short and the infection set in too early. Now, it's too late and I'm pretty sure there is no cure.

So, when Trump calls for "civility", he's actually right in this case. And, if the reporting on him was accurate, and unbiased, they'd might be able real headway -- but it may be too late as his support solidifies a bit more as the attacks continue. In a way, Trump is simply pointing out that they're really not interested in being civil, just like he exposed the EU when he offered truly free trade.

Maybe he's not really calling for civility but exposing the Left as what they are...

I still think he's got serious issues... not sure if I'm willing to vote for him in 2020. But I'm certain I won't vote for the Democrat.

buwaya said...

"What the hell is “ white nationalism”?

Several things, depends on your definition. It is a vague term usually applied rhetorically. But there are real phenomena behind the rhetoric.

One is a racially-oriented politics. What South Africa had with the Afrikaner National Party for instance, the same as that of many American minority political organizations, like the former (now renamed) La Raza.

Another meaning is the racial sorting of American politics. Non-Jewish white Americans are becoming extremely Republican, a quite interesting phenomenon. In many places political alignment is highly correlated with race. And Republicanism has been the natural home of American nationalism since at least the 1960's.

This is the inverse of the creation of the Afrikaner National Party, wherin the identity of the party came first, and the membership came after. In the American case it is the membership, by simply joining, that is to a degree redefining the existing party.

It is a bit absurd to object to "white nationalism" in American politics because it is a movement of masses of people that are defining the sides and, well, their color. It is an objection not to some politician but to dozens of millions of people.

roesch/voltaire said...

Granted the Afrikaners were rather more specific than simply "white", in their membership, being defined not just by race but by ethnicity, as Afrikaners, as opposed to other whites, mainly Anglo-derived, which usually belonged to opposition parties. But the NP's policies were of necessity racially aligned and benefited the Anglos as well.

The movement is mostly related to the "othering" going on at the hands of racial spoils system hopefuls, like Crack.

White people, in my experience, don't (or at least didn't until Obama and his race based politics) think of themselves as "white."

They are just people. Racial agitators have been busy making distinctions, like calling black kids who want to study and avoid gang signs and clothing, as "acting white." That is punished by the underclass which is determined to define what is "normal" in their communities.

Latinos until very recently, thought of themselves as White unless they had heavy Indian ancestry.

The Chinese and Japanese thought of themselves as superior races, not inferior.

My minority view is that white American men have a duty to their nation and her ideals, because of our greater privilege, to eventually cede power. It's better for everyone, who outnumber us.

FTFY. That is after all what you meant to say.

Despite calls for him to cool his overheated rhetoric after the deadly synagogue shooting and pipe bomb mailings, President Trump on Monday continued his assault on the “Fake News Media” by continuing to accuse them of stoking rage.

Calls from whom? That very same fake media. You'd have to be an idiot to believe Trump's rhetoric had anything to do with the synagogue shooting.

There, you see, Birkel? Ritmo can win an argument if he's on both sides.

Comment speaks for itself. The right-wing roots of what you're seeing at work.

I mistook you for chicken little (same bluish abstract designs) but no matter. The implications of what you say couldn't be clearer.

Well I'm not on the Jew-killing side.

But our president has me beat on that one. After all, he can get as many Jews killed as he wants, and just say that it's ok because his grandchildren being Jews MAKES it ok! Ok?

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

The NRA (and its homies here) fought for Robert Bowers' rights. Let's not forget that.

How many Robert Bowerses would the right-wingers here try to keep as well-armed as possible?

How many of them are they keeping as well-armed as possible right now?

I realize you think it's ok, that getting those Jews killed for your sins is just how it should work.

But don't you think you should've asked them, first?

At least go ask their surviving relatives.

How hard it must be to a white nationalist these days who doesn't hate Jews.

Hating the Jews kind of helps it all fit together better, no?

I mean you can blame Robert Bowers, but he was confused. Hating all non-whites and hating Jews used to be of a piece.

Why did you change up the rules on him like that? What were you expecting?

Of course, that's what a Republicanazi like you would say. Just as you pump your fat, stubby fingers around your AR-15 and imagine yourself breaking Robert Bowers' record.

And yet, as Red Diaper baby David Horowitz has chronicled, Jewish Communists in NY mourned the death of Stalin.

So did non-jewish communists. WTF is your point?

Oh yeah. TO prove that they're not as nationalistic (i.e. "pure") as you think they should be.

That's the best baby birkel can come up with when his boy, President Jew-Killer, is shown to be someone who will throw the safety of his own family under the bus for the sake of his political support.

There's no way this works well for Trump or the party he owns. He has now shown himself to be an idiot, a coward and a complete moral failure. And given what America accomplished and became globally victorious in 73 years ago, a moral disaster on a national scale.

A complete disgrace. A national disaster.

And all birkel has to say about it is something about as fatuous and ignorable as what Robert Bowers said in court today.

To answer Pickering -

"though others of their cohort held every single lever of power and wealth in the society."

This is a critical point, and a critical distinction, and a critical error - "others of their cohort"

The problem here is that the people that Trump has mobilized are NOT of that cohort. There is an enormous cultural and social gulf between those that hold "every single lever of power and wealth in the society" and Trumps supporters. At the high end (inside the 1%, say) the distinction cuts rather irregularly, but it is clear anyway. The commanding heights of nearly all American institutions are controlled by people with no sympathy, few common values, and certainly no mutual identity with the white volk. They might as well be foreigners.

What you have in the US is not a race war, but a caste war, white against white. The colored people are along to make up numbers for the side of the small white minority that is the master class, and their fellow travelers.

Ritmo thread. That ends all intelligent conversation.

buwaya said...

In other words, if there are "white men" who need to cede power (and that is absurd; meritocracy is, by nature), they are almost to a man the sort of fellows who finance the Democratic Party, and head all liberal-oriented institutions, and that includes the senior management of the F1000.

It really is a strange argument, that of "white privilege", or at least one aspect of its oddity, that it is deployed largely against the portion of whites who benefit least from it, by those whites who benefit the most.

I'm currently listening to "The Revolt of the Elites" on audio and he makes that point very well.

Yes.

K. defines as the "end" to intelligent conversation any comment to which he's too dumb to know how to respond.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Yeah, no one still cares what you're reading, either. K.

Clearly you are incapable of learning from anything you read. So what's the point?

It's like teaching monkeys sign language. In the end, they're just gesticulating.

Michael K. can be trained, but not taught. He's like a seal in that aspect.

Failed molecular biology student, Ritmo, poisons every thread he infests.

I have better things to do than skim your trash.

You missed your chance. Goebbles could have used you but you are not subtle enough for him.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Then again, most comments are comments to which K. is too dumb to know how to respond.

I never "failed" any molecular biology class or curriculum, K. Just like your Jew-killer of a president, you lie and obsess with the word "fail," because you know how much of a failure you yourself are. Like when you said Craig Venter "discovered" the human genome.

And then you said he was the first to decode human genes.

History remembers what you say. You are just Trumpian enough to accuse others of what you've been called out for. Goebbels, indeed! More lies than any other president - just like you.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Hell, perhaps K. would even throw his own kids under the bus, just like Trump does. In fact, the way K. talks often leads any reasonable person to conclude he'd do exactly just that.

buwaya said...

Goebbels was a very talented man.
He had a Doctorate from Heidelberg after all.
That was not something the Germans gave away in a cereal box.

In any society he would have been a considerable success, most likely, despite his personality flaws. The tragedy is that his flaws coincided with the times, and his utility in a horrible cause. As Ortega y Gasset would say, "I am I, and my circumstances".

A Goebbels in post-war Germany would have been a different creature. How many Goebbels are there about today, espousing diverse causes?

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Michael K. kind of looks like Robert Bowers.

Interesting.
