“I guess I’d rather do the interview. It gets it over with. It makes my client happy,” he said in an interview with The Washington Post. “The safe course you hear every lawyer say is don’t do the interview, and that’s easy to say in the abstract. That’s much harder when you have a client who is the president of the United States and wants to be interviewed.”Maybe Giuliani is just adding his weight to the useful assertion that Trump really wants to do the interview. To use a Trump phrase: We'll see what happens.

"In reversal, Giuliani now says Trump should do interview with Mueller team."
WaPo reports.

On one hand, I'd do the interview. What's Mueller going to do? Try to get him impeached if he doesn't recall the correct date and time? Bring this shit show to an end.
On the other hand, you CANNOT establish this precedent. I vote no.
Giuliani has aged out. Retire dude.
Giuliani can say anything he wants at this point.
Mueller will be indicted before any "interview" happens.
Trump shouldn't do an interview. He should fire Rosenstein and give Mueller till September 1st to wrap up this clown circus.
I'm starting to feel Mueller fatigue. Trump and his gang of lawyers need to stop talking and start doing.
He's POTUS. He can shut this sucker down tomorrow.
Start with "If it is a crime to lie to an FBI agent, is it a crime to lie to the man who is boss of every FBI agent?"
Answer that question and then decide whether to interview Mueller or not.
I think Trump will dink around with this until Mueller is ready to kill someone. L'il Rocket Man and Mueller will get the same treatment, including several delays, retrades, and walkouts.
If I were Trump's lawyer, I'd only let this happen if it were clear as to what factual information Mueller is seeking from Trump that he can't get from another source, and that questions would be limited to those items.
As to Trump's state of mind, I'd get Trump to memorize Comey's memos and spit that baloney back at Mueller. In fact, I'd get him to refresh his recollection from the Comey memos. There is nothing incriminating the the Comey memos. He and Trump were trying to snow each other. I'd also hand him Rosenstein's memo on how Comey messed up the Hillary review.
On the other hand, this is in WAPO, so it may be fake.
Trump should do it on pay-for-view and donate the money to the vets.
Since this is a witch-hunt, President Trump should submit to the questioning only on the condition that Robert "The FBI Whitewasher" Mueller has to dress like a 17th Century magistrate and has to always say "thee" and "thou" instead of "you"
... and that it has to be televised.
Read the Debevoise & Plimpton deposition of Trump in his Hachette defamation suit before concluding he should allow himself to be questioned by Mueller's team. But he probably thinks he's accomplishing so much with spygate that he'll bulldoze his way through this one.
During the middle of the questioning, President Trump should insist on a snack break and should have two scoops of ice cream served to himself and one scoop served to Robert "The FBI Whitewasher" Mueller.

Would you please direct your comments to the person who said what you think somebody said?
Because that Xerson exists only in your head.
“As to Trump's state of mind, I'd get Trump to memorize Comey's memos and spit that baloney back at Mueller.”
LOL. You think Trump could do that? I somehow think he may not be so good at memorizing.
Robert "The FBI Whitewasher" Mueller says that if he can interview President Trump, then he can complete his obstruction-of-justice report by September 1.
That's more than three months from now.
Mueller has a gang of 17 Trump-hating lawyers working for him, but this one report will take more than three months to write.
Just think that Mueller was the FBI Director for 12 years! No wonder the FBI has become such a politicized, abusive, disgraced institution.
"On the other hand, this is in WAPO, so it may be fake."
I would bet on this although I'm sure readering has an inside track to the thinking, if you could call it that, of the Mueller "team."
Inga— you are right. Trump couldn’t do that. But he should.
Rudy looks stupid. I like Rudy. But he looks really incompetent these past few weeks.
I don't think there is a chance in Hell that Mueller gets to interview Trump.
I want Trump to sit down, listen to Mueller's first question, point at him and say, "You're fired." And film the whole thing. That would be hugely entertaining from a yugely entertaining president.
Next week, the interview will be off again, on the principal that Mueller had his chance to ask for an interview this week but kept up the interminable investigating instead of finishing the Trump interview when it was suggested. And that is why Rudy is worth whatever he's getting to work for Trump.
