"Clinics that provide abortions or refer patients to places that do would lose federal funding under a new Trump administration rule..."

The NYT reports.
The policy would be a return to one instituted in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan that required abortion services to have a “physical separation” and “separate personnel” from other family planning activities. That policy is often described as a domestic gag rule because it barred caregivers at facilities that received family planning funds from providing any information to patients about an abortion or where to receive one....

The policy could prompt legal challenges, as it did soon after the Reagan administration adopted it. Planned Parenthood and other groups filed lawsuits that blocked the rules, and while the Supreme Court decided in 1991 that they could move forward, they were never fully carried out. President Bill Clinton rescinded the policy in 1994.

They could have fund raising drives. Voluntary support is nice.

There should be a bigger market for baby parts now, with all the Spirit Cooking Democrats are doing, and with Hillary accepting witch credentials from dozens of covens. That should cover any disruptions.

The New York Times, in 40 years of so-called journalism, has never run a photograph of an aborted baby.

You want to talk about gag rule, explain that one sometime.

And when you're being honest, feel free to give back your Pulitzer for your Stalin journalism!

"What dead bodies? We're the New York Times!"

Hiding the bodies since 1932!

All the news that's fit to print in a G rated newspaper.

You should let Disney buy your company. It's a natural fit.

They should lay out this article right next to one about how mystifying it is that Evangelicals support Trump because of his infidelities.

(With an apology to Damien Cave, the only journalist at the NYT).

And they haven't fired him yet, so kudos for that.

Give it a little while.
The birthrate is still collapsing.
There will be panic eventually, and abortion will be banned.

So the SCOTUS has already ruled the Reagan rule constitutional? So what is the lawfare angle?

Putting aside the politics, will a federal trial court judge have the stones to ignore a directly-on-point SCOTUS decision.

I'd like to think we would panic before going the way of Europe but I know people who would like the entire human race to die off.

Interesting that precisely the opposite is happening in Canada. Organizations who won't state on the application form that their core mandate respects the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, including reproductive rights, are no longer eligible for federal funding for summer job grants. So if a religious organization, for example, is reluctant to do that because of their anti-abortion beliefs, they're out of luck on summer job money.

Fetus or offspring, conventionally known as baby. Also a reference to the early state of human evolution following conception.

Life deemed worthy. Duck dynasties. Evolution of, not stork-delivered human life. A conservation of principles and facts, an enlightened culture, and a humanitarian society.

Why bother having children when you can just import them? I'm sure there are millions of people who would LOVE to come to the US as stand ins for the children we couldn't bother having.

They will also need to replace sexual education and "family planning" with human biology and time management, respectively. Perhaps with a side of a suitable religious/moral philosophy for anyone with a twilight faith.

Isn't this something LifeLongRepublicans have been claiming to want for a long time? It's been a part of the Repub. platform for 2 decades or so, right?

Now we all know the Courts won't let it happen--the Courts get to say that only Dem. executive decisions are valid--but isn't this just ANOTHER case of dumb ol' Trump actually delivering on a Repub promise where GOPe pros failed over and over again? Just like the Jerusalem embassy move?

Too bad he's not a True Conservative--we might actually have gotten something done! 22 circuit court judges now, I think...

If progressives liked live children as much as they do aborted ones we would have armed guards at schools instead of at Planned Parenthood. Abortion clinics are where the 1st Amendment doesn't apply and harvesting baby parts is called "health care," one of the most Orwellian aspects of our society.

This is such a shoddy argument that I see from lazy people all the time:

"So much concern for the unborn, so little concern for the already born."

Not only is it completely possible for someone to care about ALL life (both situations here), it's also possible to care about all life and at the same time have differing opinions about how to go about protecting that life.

Stop spewing talking points unless your only goal is to be lazy with your arguments. It's not in the least bit helpful or persuasive.

Supreme Court upheld Reagan's changes to the law in 1991, but Clinton re-funded PP in 1994. The way is clear for Trump to do this.

Inga, how many BILLIONS do we already slather on the 'already born'? TRILLIONS?

Give all those social programs a number and a percentage of the budget, then brave, bold strong Inga, you go ahead and tell us what IS enough? How many TRILLIONS do you demand in dollars and a percent of the budget?

As a Feminist and a Leftist, you are all Maw: never enough money, or power, or rights.

You, as is a typical liberal, slur on the cheap. Whatever bountiful sums are offered to the poor, you will snear at the paucity.

But to refute your usual inanity and characterless bloviating: we are taking money from the 'never born' and it will return to the fisc where it will be spent (in about 3 days) by your ever ravenous mob, ginned up into political rage by your constant vote buying by offering free stuff one need never PAY for, just VOTE for.

Individual dignity... judge people by the content of their character.

Intrinsic value... all lives matter.

Evolution... from conception.

Rehabilitation. Reconciliation. Revitalization... to promote the general Welfare.

So, what's the minimum?

unPlanned life, first and foremost.

Affordable and available medical care.

General and vocational education.

Affordable housing.

Outsourcing and immigration not exceeding the rate of assimilation and integration.

I admire your confidence, Mike. I 100% agree the way SHOULD BE clear.

I also know that throughout the history of the nation the Executive has had nearly unlimited power to make executive decisions/exercise Executive power & discretion over things like immigration policy...and yet the Courts now say Pres. Trump can't undo DACA and other such actions taken by the prior President. So: we'll see.

It would be nice for RBG to see her most important singular issue she has sold her soul to Beelzebub for her current undead state, to see it hacked back down to the size that society forcibly mutually agreed to (legal, rare and not a penny of federal funds) but she never countanenced. And without allowing her fetus smeared claws to touch the decision, since it is predecided and upheld.

I wonder if the souls of the unborn are what is keeping her ghoulish quasilife intact. Perhaps the decrease in abortions is why she passed out at the SOTU: insufficient souls.

First order of responsibility for offspring ("fetus"), from conception to adult and beyond, does, of course, rest upon the mother and father. For the life and welfare of their children. We want humanitarian adults and unPlanned children with a future.

So, dignity before and after birth, value before and after birth, and self-moderation and personal responsibility to realize an optimal state of liberty.
