CASE CLOSED: USA Today graphic shows why Wisconsin is the BEST state in the country

If you click on the link, you'll see the graphic, which shows that 7 out of the 10 cities in America with the highest percentage of adults who "drink excessively" are in Wisconsin. Madison is at #4. The other three are also located in the upper Midwest in Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota. All of them are cold AF for much of the year, which might explain things a bit. I was a bit surprised that Alaska wasn't represented.

In mid-March 2016, Joseph Mifsud (apparently an agent of MI-6) told George Papadopoulos that Russian Intelligence had thousands of Hillary Clinton's e-mails.

Although Papadopoulos has been working for the Trump campaign staff since early March, he does not -- not ever -- tell anybody on the staff about Russian Intelligence having the e-mails.

Instead, Papalopoulos tells Australian diplomat Alexander Downer in May 2016 and then tells Stefan Halper in September 2016. Halper apparently works as an agent for MI-6 and the CIA.

=======

Yesterday the American Thinker website published an article titled ...

The Office of Net Assessment paid Stefan Halper...why?

[quote]

.... From public records, we know he [Halper] was receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars a year from the federal government national security apparatus.

From the payment statements, the Department of Defense's Office of Net Assessment [ONA] appears to have been the contract award-maker. We still do not know what he was paid for, though there are several instances seeming to indicate that he was trying to engage low-level Trump campaign staff in suspicious actions. ....

Calls to the Department of Defense indicated that the department had no listing for either that office or its head, James Baker. ...

A [ONA] staffer, Adam Lovinger, warned about such contracts, and the head of the office, James Baker, allegedly engaged in retaliatory moves against him, even stripping him of his security clearance. "Adam Lovinger, a whistleblower and 12-year Office of Net Assessment (ONA) veteran, has repeatedly warned ONA's leadership they faced risks by relying on outside contractors as well as the problem of cronyism and a growing 'revolving door' policy, where ONA employees would leave the defense think tank and join private contractors to do the same work."

Indeed, the office looks like a slush fund to pay off cronies, producing useless work. ...

It is kind of interesting how race hustlers like Spike Lee and Na-Tahesi Coates see themselves as the victims of slavery, but not as the beneficiaries of native genocide. Spike Lee is much wealthier than most Americans. Shouldn't he be paying some reparations to Na-Tahesi? And what would you say the middle half of the North American subcontinent is worth? Shouldn't the both of them be ponying up some big-time wampum to the tribes whose former homelands they occupy?

Today the Spectator website published an article written by George Neumayr and titled "John Brennan's 'Exceptionally Sensitive' Issue". The article includes the following passages.

[quote]

.... It appears from leaked news stories in the British press that Brennan’s oafish spying on Trump began around April 2016, right after Trump’s biggest primary victories. ... Brennan turned to “intelligence partners” in Europe for dirt on Trump. But they didn’t have any, save some pretty skimpy material on “contacts” between Trump campaign officials and Russians. ...

Brennan had his own partisan hunches, fueled by his feverish hatred of Trump and perhaps a few spit-balling conversations with other Trump-hating spy chiefs abroad (the “special relationship” had turned sinister against Trump, as evident from Britain’s sorry role in this mess), but he had no evidence to meet any reasonable threshold for a counterintelligence probe ....

From April 2016 to July 2016, according to leaked stories in the British press, he assembled a multi-agency taskforce that served as the beginnings of a counterintelligence probe into the Trump campaign. During these months, he was “personally briefing” Obama on “Russian interference” — Brennan’s euphemism for spying on the Trump campaign — and was practically camped out at the White House. ...

Even after the FBI probe formally began in July 2016, Brennan was bringing CIA agents, FBI officials, and NSA officials into the same room at CIA headquarters to pool their anti-Trump hunches. To give these outrageous meetings a patina of respectability, Brennan invoked the post-9/11 rationale of interagency cooperation. ...

So until election day, the “working group at Langley” was trying to dig up dirt on the Trump campaign and wasn’t coming up with any. But Brennan didn’t want his efforts to go to waste, so he leaked to Senator Harry Reid the existence of the counterintelligence probe into the Trump campaign. He couldn’t leak any damning findings from that probe because there weren’t any. But he could inflict political damage by getting Reid to tell the press darkly of the probe’s existence. ...

John Brennan’s transformation of the CIA into a branch office of the Hillary campaign will go down as one of the grossest abuses in the agency’s history.

Makes you wonder if it was Brennan himself who originated the whole idea of weaponizing America's intelligence apparatus against Trump or if Obama came up with the idea. I suspect it was Brennan but certainly Obama and Hillary were thrilled with the notion.

He couldn’t leak any damning findings from that probe because there weren’t any. But he could inflict political damage by getting Reid to tell the press darkly of the probe’s existence.

Given Reid's history of outright lying about presidential candidates (I seem to remember him admitting that he blatently lied about Mitt Romney's taxes) I guess he was the perfect guy for that job. Perhaps the only bigger unrepentant bald faced liar I can think of is Susan Rice.

The OGE has effectively referred Trump to the DOJ for a Campaign Finance violation.

“President Donald Trump has now admitted repaying Michael Cohen more than $100,000 for the Stormy Daniels hush money on his new financial disclosure form — but the admission may have gotten him into even more legal trouble.

That’s because David Apol, the acting director of the Office of Government Ethics (OGE), is disputing Trump’s assertion that he wasn’t required to report the debt — and has sent along the matter for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to look into.

Apol wrote that an outside group requested he investigate whether Trump was legally required to report his debt to Cohen on last year’s financial disclosure form (which Trump did not do). Apol concluded that, yes, Trump was legally required to report it. And he wrote that Rosenstein may find that information “relevant to any inquiry you may be pursuing.””

"A man and a woman had a relationship, and after a few months the woman's belly was getting disturbingly big. Then, the man called a doctor who said: 'It's just air, Mrs., just air!!!" The man replied: 'I am not pumping air, am I?'"

NRO's Andrew McCarthy's fascinating analysis:

May 14, 2018
The Strzok-Page Texts and the Origins of the Trump-Russia Investigation

"(...we’ll cover just the eight days from July 28 through August 5, 2016.)"

"...That mission [“Mid Year Exam"] was accomplished, Strzok and his colleagues believed, with Director James Comey’s press conference on July 5, outlining the evidence and recommending against charges that “no reasonable prosecutor” would bring. Now, having run the just-for-show interview of Hillary Clinton on July 2 — long after Comey’s press statement that there would be no charges was in the can — Strzok was on the verge of a big promotion: to deputy assistant director of counterintelligence.

Even better: Now, he was working a real case — the Trump-Russia case. He was about to fly to London to meet with intelligence contacts and conduct secret interviews.

Not so secret, though, that he could contain himself [in his texts to Lisa Page]."

"...Thanks mostly to the dogged work of Senator Ron Johnson (R., Wis.)...hundreds of pages of the Strzok-Page texts have been released publicly — trust me on that: I am bleary-eyed from a weekend of reading about half of them. Even in their heavily redacted form, they are a goldmine of insight."

Won't name the FBI-CIA informant? The Daily Caller [Chuck Ross] outed him six weeks ago..."

DC 03/25/2018
EXCLUSIVE: A London Meeting Before The Election Aroused George Papadopoulos’s Suspicions

"Two months before the 2016 election, George Papadopoulos received a strange request for a meeting in London, one of several the young Trump adviser would be offered — and he would accept — during the presidential campaign.

The meeting request, which has not been reported until now, came from Stefan Halper, a foreign policy expert and Cambridge professor with connections to the CIA and its British counterpart, MI6."

'...Halper first contacted Papadopoulos by email. In a Sept. 2, 2016, message sent to Papadopoulos’s personal email account, he offered the Trump aide $3,000 to write a policy paper on issues related to Turkey, Cyprus, Israel and the Leviathan natural gas field. Halper also offered to pay for Papadopoulos’s flight and a three-night stay in London."

"...While discussing the policy paper Papadopoulos was to write, Halper made an out-of-left-field reference to Russians and hacked emails, according to a source with direct knowledge of Papadopoulos’s version of events."

"...Halper is a close associate of Sir Richard Dearlove — the former MI6 chief."

"...Months earlier, in early fall 2016, Dearlove reportedly met with dossier author Steele.
Steele sought out Dearlove’s advice on how to proceed with information he gathered on Trump’s ties to Russia, The Washington Post reported."

'...Halper was also linked to a Reagan-era scandal dubbed “Briefing-gate.”

Halper was one of several Reagan White House officials linked to the scandal, which involved campaign briefing materials stolen from Carter’s campaign. Prior to the 1980 election, stolen Carter-campaign briefing papers containing classified information ended up in the hands of Reagan’s campaign officials.

The theft was not revealed until 1983. Halper was not directly implicated in stealing the documents, but he was identified as one of the campaign advisers who handled and disseminated them.'

He claimed last night the AR-15 can fire 150 rounds in 15 seconds. When Carlson was finished with him, he was revealed to be a blithering idiot regarding guns and specifically the AR. No surprise.

If they lose the November 2018 midterms, they will claim that they really need to press the issue even more for the November 2020 election.

To Romans only sweet Latin speakers could be understood. The Goths spoke a Germanic tongue that sounded like “bar bar bar bar…” to Romans. Damn those barbarian speakers.

That (including the linguistic transmogrification from “bar bar bar” to the word “barbarian”) was a Greek conceit actually. The Romans were far more accepting of foreign ways and languages than the Greeks. Thus the Roman Empire ended up being the longest lived state in history, while the Greek (e.g., the Athenian) Empire ended up being among the shortest lived states.

Inga has more good news for Democrats this fall.

The far left is winning the primaries and beating out moderates.

Statewide, John Fetterman — a small-town mayor with a bristly beard and tattoos on both of his arms — toppled Pennsylvania’s incumbent lieutenant governor, Mike Stack, thanks in part to the strong endorsement of Bernie Sanders, who stumped across the state for him on Friday and Saturday. Fetterman campaigned on universal health care and legalizing marijuana.

-- In the Pittsburgh area, two card-carrying members of the Democratic Socialists of America topped incumbent state representatives in Democratic primaries with 65 percent and 68 percent of the vote, respectively. (The New Yorker profiled one of the winners, Summer Lee, last week.)

“Since it was founded in 1982, the Democratic Socialists of America has played virtually no role the country’s elections,” Clint Hendler writes for Mother Jones. “That’s begun to change, fueled by the organization’s 2016 endorsement of Bernie Sanders and a growth spurt led by the activists and organizers he inspired. In Pittsburgh, the local DSA chapter is 500 members strong and hosts Marxist reading groups, organizes against controversial anti-abortion pregnancy centers, and works to reduce police stops by fixing residents’ brake lights. … Pittsburgh’s DSA group is one of the first chapters in the country to have launched a political action committee …”

You go girl. Beat out those moderates who might have a chance!

The IG Report is coming in a week.

Wall Street Journal – Multiple subjects of a report on the Justice Department’s handling of a 2016 investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email use have been notified that they can privately review the report by week’s end, signaling t he long-awaited document is nearing release.

The report is likely to reignite the volatile debate over the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s handling of the Clinton probe, and it will put Michael Horowitz, the Justice Department’s inspector general, in a familiar place—taking aim at members of the law enforcement community.

Those invited to review the report were told they would have to sign nondisclosure agreements in order to read it, people familiar with the matter said. They are expected to have a few days to craft a response to any criticism in the report, which will then be incorporated in the final version to be released in coming weeks. (more)

Slowly, day by day, the special counsel drops another veil - suggesting, implying, leaking, investigating. Someone met with someone else for twenty minutes; someone did business in Russia; someone claimed to be influential; someone once worked for the CIA and ten years later said something; someone did something which someone else reported to someone and national security won't let us say more but, national security, well, that for sure shows that someone should take something seriously. It's all so flimsy, so fake. The only thing quite clear is that the upper levels of the CIA and FBI and NSA hate Trump and his voters and are trying for a coup.

Or they were. I feel like that for the first time the Despicables can kind of see what will happen; they have sudden fears in the night as they think just how history will view them. So they are trying to create a record that suggests that Mueller's investigation had a rational basis. Russia’s Connection to the National Rifle Association
The Committee has obtained a number of documents that suggest the Kremlin used the National Rifle Association as a means of accessing and assisting Mr. Trump and his campaign. Two individuals involved in this effort appear to be Russian nationals Alexander Torshin and Maria Butina. Mr. Torshin is a Putin ally and the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Russia,125 and Ms. Butina served as his assistant. She also founded Right to Bear Arms, the Russian equivalent of the NRA, and started a business with former Trump supporter and adviser Paul Erickson.126 Both Mr. Torshin and Ms. Butina have longstanding ties to ex-NRA president, David Keene, and in 2013, hosted him in Russia for a pro-gun conference.127
During the campaign, Mr. Torshin, Ms. Butina, and their intermediaries repeatedly offered the campaign back channels to Russia and relayed requests from President Putin to meet with Mr. Trump. The Kremlin may also have used the NRA to secretly fund Mr. Trump’s campaign.128 The extent of Russia’s use of the NRA as an avenue for connecting with and potentially supporting the Trump campaign needs examination. Requests for documents and staff interviews have been sent to Ms. Butina, Mr. Erickson, and Mr. Keene, but they have refused to cooperate.

I'm waiting for all the "Democratic Socialist" candidates and their platforms.

In Idaho’s Democratic gubernatorial primary, Paulette Jordan defeated business owner and Boise school board member A.J. Balukoff, who had the backing of most of the state’s political establishment. Jordan, who has generated a lot of media coverage because she could become the first Native American governor in the country, built her campaign around protecting more public lands, as well as promising to expand Medicaid, relax marijuana laws, reduce incarceration and limit corporate tax loopholes. She garnered 58 percent of the vote.

This is going to be a slaughter and it will be fun to watch.

In the much bluer state of Oregon, liberals toppled an entrenched Democratic incumbent in the state Senate. Sen. Rod Monroe got crushed 62 percent to 25 percent by civil rights attorney Shemia Fagan. A Somali immigrant who works as a community organizer got another 13 percent of the vote. “Monroe, 75, a five-term senator, was vulnerable because the race centered on housing,” the Oregonian reports.

Ah, but the Greeks took over the Roman Empire and it lasted 1000 years after that.

It's true that the Roman Empire (during the 5th century) lost the provinces where languages other than Greek (e.g.: Latin) predominated. But in terms of Greeks “taking over” the (late) Roman Empire, I'd say it's more the reverse. (The cultural conquest didn't go 100% either way, of course.)

But not only did the Greek (speaking) inhabitants of the Empire call themselves “Romans” (Ρωμαίοι) throughout that next 1,000 years that the Roman Empire endured — but, indeed, as Byzantinist J.B. Bury points out, even “The modern Greek language was commonly called Romaic till the middle of the nineteenth century.”

Michael McNeil said...

Shorty after, a Greek lamented: “We were conquered by a race of plumbers!”

Ha ha! There's some truth to that — though people forget the immense difficulties involved in making it happen so that when you turn the tap, water magically gushes forth. Beyond that, indeed, the Romans copied their plumbing technology from the Greeks.

But the basic question of Greek civilization facing Roman, that was addressed by 19th-century historian Theodor Mommsen, in his great, Nobel Prize winning History of Rome. As he writes, concerning the historic King Pyrrhus (whose name is the origin of the term “Pyrrhic victory”) (quoting…):

A wondrous charm attaches to the name of the Epirot [King Pyrrhus] — a peculiar sympathy, evoked certainly in some degree by his chivalrous and amiable character, but still more by the circumstance that he was the first Greek that met the Romans in battle. With him began those direct relations between Rome and Hellas, on which the whole subsequent development of ancient, and an essential part of modern, civilization are based.

The struggle between phalanxes and cohorts, between a mercenary army and a militia, between military monarchy and senatorial government, between individual talent and national vigour — this struggle between Rome and Hellenism was first fought out in the battles between Pyrrhus and the Roman generals; and though the defeated party often afterwards appealed anew to the arbitration of arms, every succeeding day of battle simply confirmed the decision.

But while the Greeks were beaten in the battlefield as well as in the senate-hall, their superiority was none the less decided on every other field of rivalry than that of politics; and these very struggles already betokened that the victory of Rome over the Hellenes would be different from her victories over Gauls and Phoenicians, and that the charm of Aphrodite only begins to work when the lance is broken and the helmet and shield are laid aside.

Yeah. Critical thought is over rated. Way better to be a parrot that cuts and pastes idiot democrat talking points without understanding you are a tool.

“It is May 2018. Certain folks on the Left still obsess over the November 2016 election.”

Just because someone wins an election does not mean they are above the law, even the President.

And the law is coming for the people that broke it. Yates Comey Obama Clinton McCabe Ohr Ohr Strzok Fields Rosenstein Mueller Misfud Halper...

Inga is supporting people that literally put spies in a political opponents campaign while they listened to every communication of that campaign.

You people are going to watch as these traitorous shit heads are tried and sent to prison. The democrat party is going to be hollowed out. It's supporters are going to have to decide if they are serious about being traitors too.

“Folks are very, very careful and serious about that process,” said Sally Yates, former Deputy AG under Obama. “I don’t know of anything that gives me any concerns.”"

Sally "The Logan Act Enforcer" Yates is a chronic leaker.

America was built on the conclusion of inter and intra-tribal genocide.

A minority profited from generational slave trade with black African tribes and owners.

South Africa was a genocide. The Mandela faction received moral license to eliminate its native black competitors, while the social justice warriors targeted the native white population in mass abortion fields, and later through diversity (i.e. color judgments) and human sacrificial rites (a.k.a. planned parenthood). South Africa is the only nation, perhaps ever, that has a progressive constitution that denies individual dignity, denies intrinsic value, and establishes [color] diversity and redistributive change as the highest laws of the land.

I said one of the few benefits of a President Trump over President Clinton is that the Executive Branch would be checked. It appears I've been right. If Trump has done anything wrong by the end of this, we'll know for sure. Can you imagine that we'd have learned Hillary Clinton paid foreign nationals to spy on her political opponents with a President Clinton, or that Brennan had gamed the intelligence report?

As much as I dislike Trump, I like that we're actually getting a reckoning of the executive branch. Trump, himself, may turn out not to be vulnerable to anything, but we're learning a lot about how our intelligence agencies work, and not all of it is flattering.

Mathew . Almost none of it is. I'd like to know what the
rank and file think.
I'd also still want to what is on Weiners computer and who killed Seth Rich. Answers to those two questions would go a long way in explaining why we're going through this nonsense.

Comey said he also listens to Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar, whom his kids like. He also favors Beyonce, recounting to the Newshour an FBI briefing he once received on a counterintelligence case called “Sandcastles.”
“They always have weird code names,” he said. “It was ‘Sandcastles,’ and so I said ‘Beyonce!’ And I was the only one in the room who had any idea what I was talking about. People were like ‘What?’ I said, ‘We built sandcastles’… Honest to God, I sung like that.”

This is why people here justifiably think you are stupid. You cut and paste without understanding, analyzing and apparently without reading carefully."

To be fair, that is just one of many reasons. Many, many, many, reasons.

Update from Campus Reform re Evergreen College.

Acknowledging that “Evergreen can no longer be considered a ‘selective’ college in terms of admission” because it currently accepts about 95 percent of all applicants, the report also points out that the percentage of students of color on campus continues to edge upward despite the decrease in overall enrollment.

Notably, it also cites a survey showing that 60 percent of first-year, four-year students who enrolled at Evergreen State in Fall 2017 “identified themselves as LGBTQIA.”

Not sure comment is needed.
