The paradoxical intercourse of audience, and celebrity

I notice that the Democrats are testing the word "intersectionalities" in their talking points. Maybe this was written by the same guy.

For camera nuts with 4/3, Fuji or Sony APSC cameras -
On Amazon under 7Artisans brand (Chinese) they are offering a rather nice looking pair of new 35/1.2 and 12/2.8 lenses very cheaply, for what they seem to be - @$145 and $188.

If they are decent these are great bargains. No shipping till Jan 8 and I have seen no reviews.

I am neither celebrity nor fascinated by them. But Happy New Year, one and all! And special thanks to our hostess for maintaining her excellent salon.

Many thanks to Althouse for reading David Foster Wallace so we don't have to.

My day has taken a melancholy turn. Bruce Arians announced his retirement this morning. SF and LA are on the upswing. Welcome to the basement of the NFC WEST. We suck again!

The question of the day: Will the Harbaugh brothers choke the lead away two (2) times in two (2) days?

Coach Khaki-Pants is screwing the pooch.

I gave my digital SLR camera after carrying it around on trips.

For trips I got little pocket sized digital cameras and, after traveling with three teenaged girls, I got them with AA batteries since the girls always lost the chargers,

You know, it'd be far easier to be critical of Trump's continued insults aimed at the media if CNN and the NYT would stop printing propaganda for a state that literally calls for America's destruction.

Humperdink said...

CNN is like The Onion with no humor. It's a spoof of a cable news station.

Original Mike said...

Well, the pooch is well and truly screwed.

The Big 10/14 still won the Conference Bowl trophy going away.

Humperdink said...

"The question of the day: Will the Harbaugh brothers choke the lead away two (2) times in two (2) days?"

The answer is yes. And Big Blue is the only Big10 team to lose a bowl game.

As a Badger fan, I was concerned when Harbaugh came to the Big Ten. Looks like my fears were unfounded.

I think you are correct. His coaching skills are overrated.

Unknown, if you do a web search on “How the Gingrich stole Christmas” you will see it is just a well worn page in their playbook.

Florida Representative and Judicary Committee member Ron DeSantis appears on Sunday Morning Futures and deconstructs the leaked intelligence community propaganda pushed by the New York Times. Essentially DeSantis states the claims surrounding the origin of the 2016 Russian Probe, made by the leaked intelligence sources, does not align with the sworn congressional testimony given by the FBI and DOJ to the judiciary committee. - CTH

Everywhere you go in Georgia people are happy about being in the Rose Bowl. And then you hear nearly everybody you know has gone out to Cali just to be there. Hopefully they can come home to ATL and do it again.

Humperdink said...

I see one of the Sooner players has been branded on his arm with the O, as in Omega, as in the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

As I the only that thinks that it could be considered hazing to brand somebody?

Big Mike said...

I see that UCF is (1) undefeated and (2) beat Auburn, which beat Alabama. Maybe they’re for real?

If Alabama and Georgia lose tonight, folks are going to wonder about the SEC.

madAsHell said...

The brand is voluntary, and optional.

Humperdink said...

^^^^^ So is subjecting oneself to hazing.

etbass said...

Went to nap a couple hours before the Sugar Bowl. But couldn’t get to sleep. Sure wish they would schedule these games at an earlier time;it’ll be midnight before it’s over.

Michael K said...

Branding on the arm will get you disqualified for the military. You will need a waiver.

Watching the Rose Bowl and remembering when SC owned it.

Michigan fans are less than thrilled.

A sample: "Let this sink in...SC fired their offensive coordinator on Dec 2nd and let a GRADUATE ASSISTANT call the plays today. A graduate assistant called a better game than the Michigan coaching staff did today and both teams had the same amount of time to prepare."

Dr. K, that was a few seasons ago, wasn’t it?

Michael K said...

"Dr. K, that was a few seasons ago, wasn’t it?"

Yup. McKay, Robinson and Carroll did it. In between, we had seven lean years each time.

Twice the University screwed it up and forced them out. McKay just got a better deal, or thought he did.

I was there for all of them.

Jaq said...

I am just happy for the Bills. And their new logo and fan gear is pretty great. Time is catching up with Brady. Maybe he would have been better off with another four game suspension this year.

I turned mine off, because all it did was make me look stupid.

Humperdink said...

I wanted to see if Mayfield lived up to the hype. Well he did for 30 minutes. The fact the OU offensive line got handled by the Dawgs in the the second half did Mayfield in.

Great game.

Clemson Tigers paw has four (4) toes, Penn State Nittany Lion paw has five (5) toes.

"Originally, (PennState) university licensee merchants printed the four-toed paw on t-shirts and other licensed products, but the logo itself was never officially licensed by the university, according to Jeff Hermann of Penn State Strategic Communications. When Penn State was scheduled to play the Clemson Tigers in the 1988 Citrus Bowl, however, issues arose with the unofficial four-toed logo.

Clemson’s logo, you see, was quite similar to Penn State’s paw print. Before the bowl game, Clemson’s licensing director asked Penn State’s then-licensing director to ensure that the university didn’t use the four-toed Penn State paw on any bowl merchandise. To satisfy Clemson, licensees for Penn State added a toe to the existing paw, and the five-toed designs caught on."

Yes, I thought UCF should've been invited to the final four. Course that would've meant that bama would not be there.

"If Alabama and Georgia lose tonight, folks are going to wonder about the SEC. "

We'll see if bama can make it an all SEC championship (again).

Original Mike said...

Blogger Humperdink said..."Michigan fans are less than thrilled."

The Bowl Championship Cup trophy was on the sidelines of the Michigan-SC game today. I guess they gave it to Michigan to bring it home. Bet that left a sour taste in their mouth.

pacwest said...

What was the deal with OU's short kickoff with seconds left in the first half? That caused the loss imo. Go Bama.

Turn off autocorrect. It's a disaster. I delayed figuring out how to do it, but finally did, and it's so much better.
