Internally, Weinstein continued to fight for his survival, insiders have told TheWrap. His advisors — including his brother Bob — told him that he needed to take the allegations seriously and not merely pay lip service. They wanted him to leave for six months and get treatment for sex addiction or whatever his unacceptable behavior would be designated.
Weinstein told TheWrap in an interview on Thursday that he was sincere in his apology and intention to make amends. But reports continued to leak out of the company that the CEO was determined to dictate the terms of his leave of absence and treatment.
The board became increasingly concerned about the company’s survival and were in the midst of negotiating a deal on Saturday and Sunday for Weinstein to resign. That deal apparently fell apart on Sunday, and the board issued the termination notice, bringing an extraordinary end to the career of one of Hollywood’s most powerful moguls....

But that does not make Ms Judd for example any the less complicit. Screwing the producer for a part hurts the better actress who loses that part. In the late 1990s, at Miramax (owned by Disney) he couldn't get permission from Disney head honcho Eisner to go into production for a two movie version of The Lord of the Rings, so he let Jackson go to New Line Cinema.

There was also this in the article: Weinstein is a long-time campaign contributor to Democrats. The Hill said nearly a dozen Democratic senators have said they'll donate cash they received from Weinstein to organizations and causes that provide help to women who have suffered sexual abuse.
On Friday, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin said it will donate $5,000 it received from Weinstein. A spokeswoman said the money will be given "to a group or groups that work with women who are survivors of sexual harassment and abuse here in Wisconsin."

Supposedly part of the way that this has been kept quiet is that employees had to sign non-disclosure agreements. I wonder, legally, who could waive those agreements? Would releasing those people from the agreement require Harvey's approval? Or could it be done by the company?
If it could be done by the company, then the company should be pressured to waive the non-disclosures, and let the whole truth come out.

The non-disclosures referred to are part of the settlements negotiated with actresses and staff to whom HW presumably showed his potted plant germination technique.
They would typically say (through several paragraphs of legalese) that we're giving you $150K, but if you ever talk to anyone about the underlying allegations (even family members), you have to pay us all the money back.
Harvey's schlong might need a separate non-disclosure agreement.

I was told at the time that Weinstein had visited the newsroom in person to make his displeasure known. I knew he was a major advertiser in the Times, and that he was a powerful person overall.

Yes. Given how coordinated Hollywood is with the Obama administration and the Hillary campaign this should only be the tip of the iceberg. Remember how Obama's cabinet demanded Hollywood incorporate pro-Obamacare propaganda into the scripts of TV and movies?

She's an actress,actors, they read scripts and mouth the words (preferably with some degree of talent) but it doesn't require them to actually know what they are saying. In a couple of decades they will be replaced by AI and vastly better CGI. Harvey is old, he will be among the last of his type in Hollywood since in the future algorithms won't be offended by guys like him spanking the monkey.
