Trump won't concede that he was wrong to talk about "many sides," because "before I make a statement, I like to know the facts."

The NYT reports on "a long, combative exchange with reporters at Trump Tower."
Mr. Trump repeated that assertion on Tuesday, criticizing “alt-left” groups that he claimed were “very, very violent” when they sought to confront the nationalist and Nazi groups that had gathered in Charlottesville, Virginia to protest the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee from a park. He said there is “blame on both sides.”
Here's a part of today's statement, in which he is explicit that he did not condemn everyone on the non-counterprotester side.

"I’ve condemned neo-Nazis. I’ve condemned many different groups. Not all of those people were neo-Nazis, believe me. Not all of those people were white supremacists by any stretch... Many of those people were there to protest the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee. This week, it is Robert E. Lee and this week, Stonewall Jackson. Is it George Washington next? You have to ask yourself, where does it stop?”

ADDED: Some people thought his remarks yesterday represented a backing off from his much-criticized "many sides" line, but I was not one of them.  I think what he said Saturday, yesterday, and today was basically all the same thing.

"Then why are you supporting their bad faith tactics that pretty much boil down to calling everyone who doesn't vote for democrats racist?"

I never said that.

Seriously? Take a step back and go read some of your posts.

"And why are you supporting an illegal investigation of "Russian collusion" that is clearly based on a lie?"

Your statement is of the kind that would fit in better in a Soviet agency. Your lack of any grasp on basic civics is a sad joke - how poorly educated you are in our rights and how our government works. The investigation is duly authorized through our own checks-and-balances system.

There was no Russian hack.

It was an inside Job

The Nation and Salon are trying to let you down easy. You have been lied to. Stop being a tool.

Wikileaks said it was Seth Rich. There is a reason why the DNC wouldn't let the FBI look at it's servers.

If you want to see what happens when the left wins, just look at the French Revolution. That quickly dissolved into the Reign Of Terror.

And once they ran out of the easy bourgeois, they started lopping off the heads of their fellow revolutionaries.

“Liberals whine about being governed by Trump. Pity those governed by them,” Dan Henninger (who is not exactly a Trump fan) writes in the Wall Street Journal:

"We’re not living yet under a President Sanders or Warren, so the steady, documented outflow of residents will continue from New York, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, California and New Jersey… Not widely noticed is that liberalism’s claimed beneficiaries—black Americans—are also fleeing its failures. Demographers have documented significant black out-migration from New York, Michigan, California and Illinois into Florida, Georgia, Texas and North Carolina. North to south.

Now comes the summer-of-hell infrastructure crisis. Residents of the northeastern slab from New Jersey to Boston have been living off infrastructure created by their grandparents and great-grandparents during the golden age of American capitalism.

They are now asking the federal government, meaning taxpayers who live in parts of the U.S. not hostile to capitalism, to give them nearly $15 billion to replace the 100-year-old train tunnel beneath the Hudson River. Why should they? Why send money to a moribund, dysfunctional urban liberal politics that will never—as in, not ever—clean up its act or reform?

Maybe we need a new default solution to the urban crisis: Let internal migration redistribute the U.S. population away from liberalism’s smug but falling-apart plutonomies."

Redistributive change, whether of wealth or people, is a short-term solution that shifts the problem set.

a moribund, dysfunctional urban liberal politics that will never—as in, not ever—clean up its act or reform

That is the problem. High density population centers are favored by two interests: Democrats and businesses. It is not generally favorable to human welfare and development.

Murderous yes. Ideological no.

I don't think you can really blame the left for the results of the French revolution. The Jacobins followed Rousseau. He was enshrined as a national hero. The ideals they pushed were enlightenment. Their policies were basically private property/end of privilege and otherwise generally vague.

It really seems like they were just really angry with their political class and put less thought than most to what would come after.

News report:

A tweet by Barack Obama condemning racism in the aftermath of a far-right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, has become the most liked tweet ever, with more than 2.8 million social media users so far endorsing the sentiment. The tweet, quoting the late South African president Nelson Mandela, read: “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.”

So why did Obama supporters found and fund "Unite the Right?"

To which Brookzene replied: Yes, because the colonists rebelling against King George was very analogous to white power groups and neo-Nazis. Help you out here? Okay, I doubt your much of a patriot if you can't tell the difference.

Dr. Johnson's most famous quote, "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel." Brookzene's argument is an example of what he had in mind.

You can tell a lot about a person by the porn they watch. So -- of course -- I Googled 'Nazi Porn'. Yes, my Google Search History is a horrible thing...

Anyway, the first hit is Nazi Porn Videos / Pornhub.

What makes a porn video a Nazi Porn Video? Let's look at some of the titles...

"German actress ordered to strip by Nazi"

"Nazi pussy gets fucked by a fat black cock in the ass"

"Cuckold Racist, Nazi Bitch"

"Nazi techno Girls Music Video"

"Nazi Gets Penetrated by Big Black Jew"

"Nazi Games shemale porn"

"Brunette Nazi Gets Fisted"

"Nazi Threesome"

Interesting, but the only one that is obviously a Nazi-dominance video is "German actress ordered to strip by Nazi" and, possibly, "Cuckold Racist, Nazi Bitch": many of the others concern Nazis on the receiving end, best captured by "Nazi Gets Penetrated by Big Black Jew"...

Either there are not enough Neo-Nazis to get Nazi-dominance higher rankings, or most Nazi-interested porn viewers want to see Nazis get Penetrated and Fisted (assuming I can trust the title of "Brunette Nazi Gets Fisted")...

So: are those that want Nazis to get Penetrated and Fisted an example of a self-loathing in the Neo-Nazi Culture, or are these the viewing habits of a large Antifa contingent?

Something to ponder overnight...

I am Laslo.

3rdG @5:54: "Maybe, the South would [sic] be so backward to this day, if a strong, harsher cleaning out had been implemented from the start. Seems to have worked for Japan and Germany.

Better late than never."

Here, a call for the Federal Government and northern states to re-invade the South for a strong, harsher cleaning out - today? Curious about your view of the lethality needed in places where the US government is currently at war vs. that which you suggest against your own countrymen. Total war in Iraq? Afghanistan? Syria? Libya? Yemen? Or just Alabama and Mississippi? Where else should the US government do a modern-day "cleaning out" besides the southern states?

You forgot to mention Italy, Greece, UK, France, having gone on to some success after WWII as did Japan and Germany, though some of those were "cleaned out" by others.

With more analysis of the above titles I see the subject of Nazis dominated by blacks: "Nazi Gets Penetrated by Big Black Jew", "Nazi pussy gets fucked by a fat black cock in the ass".

Is this preferred by black porn viewers as righteous masturbation material, or by actual Nazis with 'dominated-by-black-man' fantasies?

This, of course, leads to another Google search: Confederate Porn...

The first hit is a porn site that is NOT Pornhub, and what is called Confederate Porn doesn't seem to have much to do with the Nineteenth-Century Southern Society; mostly it is just run-of-the-mill biracial porn:

"Kymora Lee Gets Gangbanged By Many White Guys": Kymora, from the thumbnail, is black. And I gather gets gangbanged by a lot of white guys.

"Black Chick With White Dicks": not sure whether this is black women with white men, or bizarre racial transgenderism -- the thumbnail is of a dog sniffing feet.

There IS "White Neighbor with racist boyfriend sucks me off" -- a bit of racial anger seems to be implied, but -- again -- there is nothing specifically 'Confederate' about it.

Pornhub seems to capture more of the Confederate spirit, but only has four selections, which include:

"Platinum Blonde Dixie Wife has Toe Curling Orgasm on Mississippi "

"Platinum Blonde Dixie Model prefers Mississippi Black Snake "

See? 'Dixie' is in the title. That's kinda Confederate, I think, and they do involve Mississippi, and its infamous black snakes...

And there is also "Pregnant confederate daddy's girl", which is over fifty-four minutes long, and something I really don't want to think about.

I am Laslo.

Begging your pardon, the question is not whether these particular symbols are worth defending but rather whether there is a point at which the symbol should be protected. I believe strongly that the Left has no logical stopping point in this controversy.

Query this:
What is the logical stopping point for the Will to Power.

P.S. The statue of Justice Taney was removed. He won't be missed. Which is next?
