Ah, the Third Law of Trump--everything always must be interpreted through a pro- or anti-Trump lens. Nothing is about anything anymore without some allusion to Trump.
I made waffles last weekend, and am considering using marshmallow in the batter this weekend. How is this like Trump? I'm sure someone will find a way!
Shame, Shame, Shame! Exposing truth can be too powerful, not to mention rude, crude and socially unacceptable. How dare Trump Supporters speak out and live. The United Nations needs to impeach the Jacksonian Doofus before he exposes their massive scams next.
The way I'm beginning to understand the dichotomy between the Trump administration and its supporters and everyone else from Madonna to Egg McMuffin and his new "Stand Up Republic" anti-Trump PAC is that the former live in and are proceeding within the laws of the universe of an Electoral College-determined constitutional republic while the latter believe politics is determined by "likes" on social media.
The latter will surely find themselves with endless rabbit warrens within to run, but I expect the former to be far more successful.
Speaking of rabbit holes, here in north Texas the local NPR affiliate is once again trying to raise money, and in exchange for their gullible listeners' hard-earned dollars what are they serving up? Endless reruns of "Trump's false statements about millions of people voting illegally", including at last 15-20 minutes of Mary Louise Kelly parsing the meaning of the word "lie". Time and money well spent, indeed.
On the other hand, it's truly heartwarming to see so many millions of people healthy, happy, and able to bound free across such beautiful meadows every time Trump throws a stick for them to retrieve.
The two situations, rescuing puppies and people still buried in an avalanche, is not a terrible stretch for someone to comment about being a Trump supporter. Dennis Prager has talked about people who would rescue a dog drowning but would not make the same effort to save a person. It's a bit of a stretch but I could see it as a statement on that basis.
Easily misunderstood, of course. Posting that in WaPo is an invitation to be mocked.
Clayton, I was startled to see the Press go all-in on calling Trump's supposition that 3M illegal aliens cast votes in NOV as "debunked" and a a "lie" when it is clearly neither. Lot's of bright people study voting but we have NO IDEA how many dead voters, alien voters, double voters and "pre-prepared" ballots happen in elections. We don't have it quantified, so there is no way the figure 3 million could have been "debunked." Every time I see that I smile now because they are just digging themselves in deeper. Now there is a movement to thoroughly investigate voter fraud to determine what the real impact is.
Oops!
That's not what the DNC-Media complex wanted. They want to make up their own facts and call Donald a liar. If we actually KNOW how many illegals are voting this will look very bad for them. So now you are seeing the whipsaw effect of a party-profession in disarray. Progressives and progressives-with-bylines all screaming "voter fraud" over false insinuations that Russia actually affected the outcome; now the Progressives and progressives-with-bylines all screaming there's NOT voter fraud and everyone knows it. Trump has positioned them as almost demanding he PROVE there is voter fraud, and even a barely competent commission can do this very easily.
Careful what you ask for Press. You may just get it. Then all your customers are going to start wondering why YOU, the alleged investigative journolists never bothered to chase down the facts and te;ll the Public the truth about voter fraud. Thus more loss of trust and esteem in the Press as they reveal their failure to do their job.
Trump says stupid shit, but, so far, he makes the right moves and appoints the right people. Obama always expressed elevated sentiments but he appointed dumb people to do stupid shit........I don't think the rescue of puppies should be politicized. I voted for Trump, and I'm happy that puppies got rescued. It is unfair to stereotype Trump supporters as being against puppy rescues.
Mike: "This is how you get more Trump." Indeed. Your analysis of the voter fraud bind in which the media has put itself --with deft prods and feints by DJT-- is very clear and I hope we do get a serious inquiry into this issue. Imagine if we were to adopt the anti-fraud measures of a truly advanced democracy like Iraq: indelibly-inked thumbs, paper ballots secured for audit purposes, and --wait for it-- voters producing the same kind of identity proof they need to buy a six of lager. I know, I'm just a dreamer, but I'm not the only one...
The latter will surely find themselves with endless rabbit warrens within to run, but I expect the former to be far more successful.
We have likened this phenomenon to a wild fire. Trump being the wild fire throwing off all sorts of spot fires while the real fire is searing through the overgrown forest .....(overgrown because the save the forest idiots have refused to allow the dead bug infested trees and overgrown underbrush to be thinned and are actually killing the forests...but I digress)
The media is running around trying to film the spot fires thrown off by Trump. Excitedly thinking AHA....we have him now. Only to ignore the real cleansing fire. Running their tails off chasing embers.
putting the lives’ of humans first, and even their specific welfare, like shutting down the EPA and FDA so people can make their own decisions, which rather than having some faceless elite decides who lives and dies, has a job they can be proud of, coming home to a traditional housewife serving a family of five on a coal miner's salary with the worker having a tinge of black lung just so little Johnny can ask "how did it go dad" and be answered with some pride. This, like the family farm, will continue until we have a generation change where the education system has brought thee these children to the next level of work and productivity rather than suffering through the green's takings (treating them like dogs in a kennel) without any compensation. Either shelve the regulation or provide the 20 years equivalents dollars to change the environment for the better for these families. Humans first could be his party's tagline. Like it was for Andrew Jackson. Good fun. I want to see the opposition run as a party on the opposite. Let sharks exist to prove humans are not the top of the food chain. Not real smart. But typical of the stupid party. The party of stupid bullies.

Bet they were BELGIAN waffles, you fucking traitor.
No, in the bad old days before SJWs, Italians were slightly brown.
My mother, when she was young, was kind of swarthy I'm told and her family nickname was "Guinea" as they teased her about being Italian. Even into old age (she lived to 103) her family called her "Gin."
It will be interesting to see what really happens in California re: non-citizens voting. My hypothesis is that there are thousands and thousands but maybe not millions. It would be great to know.
I hate to ask it, but was extra effort performed to rescue the puppies?
Let me put this way- you are expending effort looking for survivors, and you hear puppies under the snow that may take an hour or more to dig out. What do you do? Continue to invest that time in trying to find the human survivors, or do you expend the effort to dig the puppies out? I would dig the puppies out, but I am not convinced this is the most ethical response.
Of course, it is possible that rescuing the puppies is completely a by-product of the effort to dig down into the area where it is thought human survivors might be, which makes the question moot.
This looks like a pratfall in the making. Keep pushing and there'll be a couple of solutions too perfect not to pass. including those that verify without requiring a rule breaker to identify themselves as a legal voter t the time of the vote, including provisional ballots where a poll worker will come visit within the next week. What do you expect of the party of stupid bullies.

"USATheGreat"....?
Goes out of way to insert Trump into comment?
That might not be a genuine Trump supporter.
The new identifier.
As in: I bought bananas on sale today at... Yes, I am a Trump supporter.

Regular waffles not white enough for ya, huh?
The games, they are afoot.
I'm getting really tired of all the games...
Rescuing puppies in an avalanche - good
Rescuing puppies in an avalanche, in lieu of rescuing humans - bad
Rescuing puppies and humans in an avalanche - good
I am a Trump supporter.
CJinPA - Lol! Excellent...

Yeah, rigggghhhhttt!! When you have to explain in a comment that you are a Trump supporter, it just shows that you are not...

Why can't you just eat your waffle?

Mouth watering puppies for Obama.

@Mike,
I was pleased to see that it was NPR's own Mara Liasson who double-dog-dared him. Careful what you wish for, indeed.

That Trump supporter's comment is dumb, he deserved to be scolded.
I am Italian and, were I American, I would be a Trump supporter.

Do Italians have white privilege or is that only Americans?
"Do Italians have white privilege"
No, in the bad old days before SJWs, Italians were slightly brown.
My mother, when she was young, was kind of swarthy I'm told and her family nickname was "Guinea" as they teased her about being Italian. Even into old age (she lived to 103) her family called her "Gin."
So Chuck posts elsewhere under the nom de web of USA the Great?
The puppies need to check their white dog privilege. Saving them shows that Italians are just a bunch of white supremacist haters.
I'm Spartacus. Or a Trump supporter. Or Queen Marie of Rumania.
Leftwing cant is insane.
It will be interesting to see what really happens in California re: non-citizens voting. My hypothesis is that there are thousands and thousands but maybe not millions. It would be great to know.
By the way, I suspect they will find the same thing in Illinois, where we take an approach similar to CA.
"Regular waffles not white enough for ya, huh?"
Well played...now I have to add cocoa mix into it as well!
"Bet they were BELGIAN waffles, you fucking traitor."
Eerie..I think they were "Belgian"! I'll have to pair it with a trappist beer next time.
"Why can't you just eat your waffle?"
Have you seen the price of arugula lately?
Troll-lol-lol.
