Election night. I know you're not all watching.

You took my poll:

And alan markus said:
I will be watching the discussion here - much more interesting than what any talking heads on TV will have to say.
And I said:
Hey, good point! I should have provided that option: I will be hanging out on Althouse and seeing whatever is visible from this vantage point.
The option wasn't available on the poll, but it's available right now. Hang out here and watch with me. I know we can't all get what we want, but if what you want is company and conversation, you can get that here.  My vote is secret, and I'm sympathetic to everyone's feelings.

I voted for Trump, & take this strange demonic glee in seeing him tromp the HRC machine.

But, I must tell you, I am apprehensive & frightened for the future of the country under a President Trump. I do, however, take considerable comfort from the fact that I'd be even more apprehensive & frightened at the reality of a HRC presidency.

Tim,

I don't get it at CNN. Trump is up 93,000 in Wisconsin, and the only counties that help Clinton that aren't complete yet are Dane and Milwaukee, but together, a good estimate that she could gain about 40,000 max from those two counties, but Trump will gain about 10,000 to 20,000 from everything else that is left. Fox was right to call it- it is 100% Trump.

So how did the pot reeferendas come out?

CA passed recreational.

I don't think 'medical marijuana' is "libertarian" It's a joke. Either legalize it or not.

Van Jones is on CNN

Does Obama pardon Clinton?

Tough call. I would say yes, but he's gonna be damned pissed about this. He might just leave her hanging there.

If Obama pardons Clinton, it means that, yes, his administration was corrupt, the FBI & DoJ were playing politics, & that the rabid Repubs were right all along.

A Clinton pardon would probably destroy the Democratic Party in the eyes of the voting public. So, I'm gonna say no, it won't happen.

Jaq said...

Ha, CNN is pointing out that Hillary is like Nixon again. He wouldn't concede the election night either.

Jaq said...

Obama can't pardon Clinton. That would be an admission that she is a criminal, which she is.

Which channel is Van Jones on?

He's an interesting cat. A total up-the-butt Hillarian - but a guy who would get why she'd lose.

If any Clintonian will make the case for an honest post-mortem, it might be him.

He called it a whitelash. He whined about how hard it would be to send his kids to bed and how he was getting emails from Muslims asking him if they should leave.

Howard said...

What Van is trying to say is Hillary needs to sober up before she can concede.

Jaq said...

Think of the tears flowing at Facebook and Google.

Jaq said...

Yeah, Van Jones had no comment as to why black voters sat on their hands.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Oh. Wait.

Jones used the word, "white-lash."

Ok Van. Looks like you're going to refuse to get it also.

Enjoy that wilderness.

It's not so hard to get. Someone cares about my job and someone else didn't. End of story. Maybe if Van wasn't such a bigshot he'd understand.

SukieTawdry said...

Had she won, I think a pardon would have been automatic. The people have spoken, it's best for the country if she starts out with a clean slate, nothing hanging over her head, yada yada yada.

I bet that she's apoplectic with rage. How dare those stupid motherfucking voters not make me president! And to be beat by that shit....

Howard: "What Van is trying to say is Hillary needs to sober up before she can concede"

You've got that right.

And, quite frankly, I wouldn't blame her for tying one on.

Michael Moore knew what was up.

When Obama was reelected my neighbor, a black woman, stood in the cul-de-sac and screamed, "Praise God, thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus!"

Pardon me for a moment, I've got to go wake up a few people.

Wow. The non-concession concession speech when you're getting blown out. By the campaign manager being offered up as the sacrificial scapegoat.

Just when you think these people can't go any lower, they grab some dynamite and start blasting and digging the hole deeper.

The numbers aren't going to look any better tomorrow for Team Hillary, and even flipping one state won't change the results in the Electoral College.

At this point the question I have to ask is whether she's negotiating a Presidential Pardon, because with the destruction of her political career, she's opened herself up for a renewal of the FBI investigation. Probably not a lot of her friends and allies who will want to fall on the grenade for her now.

No. I think she's just digging in her heels like she did when she lost to Obama and tried to flip super delegates.

Ha! The president elect arrives! I hope he takes it seriously. I personally think he is ADHD, but I hope he overcomes it. Who knows? But at least the Justice Department an the IRS are going to get an attempt at a housecleaning.

YoungHegelian said...

@Scott,

Probably not a lot of her friends and allies who will want to fall on the grenade for her now.

Not only that, think about all the suckers who gave her over a billion dollars & now have absolutely jack-shit to show for it!

You can't stand at a lectern in the middle of the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio and tell the audience you're going to put a lot of coal companies (and miners) out of business and expect to win Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania.

Imagine a 55-year-old coal miner hearing that. He's got to put food on the table for at least 10-12 more years. It's all he's known and all he's done. He's worked his ass off for 30 years. He's going to suddenly learn how to do something else that will pay as much for his expertise?

How the hell does he pull a lever for that person?

Obviously you and I deeply disagree about solutions, but at least we agree on the problem.

You know that they had the NYT numbers early... she probably started at 5pm with Chablis, then Rose, then Martinis followed by Tequila shots at midnight.

Obamacare was a Pyrrhic victory, in fact, they may stop calling them that, they might start calling them an "Obmacare victory."
