"Charlotte Hornets forward and former University of Wisconsin standout Frank Kaminsky III scored 15 points in his first career start in the NBA Playoffs to help Charlotte to a 96-80 win over the Miami Heat on Saturday."

Players like Kaminsky [College Player of the Year?] don't even crack starting lineups and oftentimes you never hear of them again. I have known a few college superstars from Philly area who never made it onto an NBA team. Luckily, for them , there are well paying jobs in Europe leagues.; 4/24/16, 9:24 AM

Frank Kaminsky sounds like he's a Polish American cab driver with a cigar in his mouth. Who knows, maybe someday after his NBA career is over, he will be a Polish American cab driver with a cigar in his mouth.

He is lovely. I am tall. If I were young, fertile, and still the owner of a uterus and ovaries, I would volunteer to do my bit for the NBA. Only due to an altruistic interest in diversity--whites are underrepresented in the NBA compared to their proportion of the population as a whole. Inherently discriminatory.; 4/24/16, 9:58 AM

Virgil Hilts said...: Growing up, there was a HS player out of Omaha - Mike McGee -- easily the best HS player state had ever seen; people drove 100 miles to watch him. He went to Michigan and set a slew of MI/Big Ten records, and was drafted in 1st round by Lakers. Where. . . he sat on bench for 2 seasons and then became a role player/pretty good 6th man. I think Kaminski will be be a good player/starter but the difference between college and the NBA is unbelievable. Just ask Doug McDermott (lead NCAA in scoring and I think 5th all time NCAA leader in points scored). Just finished 2nd season as bench player for non-playoff team.; 4/24/16, 10:25 AM

Wilbur said...: I try to watch the Bulls when I can. Doug McDermitt is not comfortable with something, I don't know exactly what. He too often plays too rushed; "hurry" is not faster than smooth. And he's too good a player not to know that.

7' Frank Kaminsky had 320 rebound in his senior year at Wisconsin, about 10 per game and Larry Bird averaged 10 RBs per game with the Celtics career at 6'9" - so "no jump' Larry could certainly retrieve loose basketballs for a little guy - but who is kidding who? Frank Kaminsky is not now nor will he ever be a player of the caliber of Larry Bird.; 4/24/16, 11:12 PM
