Imagine being 12 years old in a world where everyone was reading about your father giving some woman who is not your mother the best sex she ever had.

Politico has a story this morning about Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka, "The Quiet Power Behind the Trump Throne/Ivanka Trump is her father’s most influential adviser, his most powerful surrogate—and his total opposite." Excerpt:
The caution and composure Ivanka brings to business is applied in every corner of her life and is, in part, the product of growing up as the child of a mother and father who often made tabloid headlines, including the New York Post front pager—“Best Sex I Ever Had”—about her father. Looking back at that time, when the whole world seemed to be taking sides in her parents’ divorce, she says, “You can’t control for other 12-year-old girls bringing a copy of the newspaper to school. People knew. They heard their parents talking about it at the breakfast table, so they would ask me.” Ivanka sounds like she’s straining as she seeks the most positive light for this dark moment. She says the scandalous episode probably made her appreciate her parents more. But in the end, she concludes, “I actually view it, all in all, as a thing that obviously was negative.”
I was curious about "Best Sex I Ever Had." I couldn't call up the original story, but I found a Post piece from 2012 titled "Worst ‘lust’ Trump ever had":
Marla Maples famously gushed “Best Sex I Ever Had” in a Post Page One headline when she started her affair with Donald Trump back in 1990 — but The Donald wasn’t as thrilled, according to a gossipy police confession tape.

Chuck Jones — Maples’ shoe-fetishist former publicist — has recorded a video statement for Manhattan cops and prosecutors.... “I said [to Trump], ‘Did you love [Maples]?’... He thought about it,... And it’s not like he said, ‘I’m madly in love with her.’ He said, ‘You know . . .I think it was lust . . . and had I the opportunity to do it over, I would have stayed with my family,’ ” meaning Ivana and their three kids.
Interesting... not that there's much reason to believe Jones, who convicted of "burglarizing Maples’ home and stealing 70 pairs of shoes, which he admitted he was having a 'sexual relationship with.'"

Trump is now married to his third wife, and I suppose I think more highly of a man who's on his third wife if I know that he regretted ever leaving his first wife. But how awful to be 12 years old and to see everyone reading about your father giving some woman who is not your mother the best sex she ever had.

It must be a girl thing.

Eat, Pray, Love didn't make any sense to me either. I mean, I like Julia Roberts and I can tell she's doing a great job of acting, but really.

It's a woman with some problem I can't follow.

Imagine a world where your father was having sex with any woman willing, and some that weren't, and none of them were your mother, and you were expected to pretend you were a well adjusted, normal family.

I guess I don't get why it's a big deal that it's the best sex she ever had. The problem is the dad having sex with someone not your mother, not how well it satisfied the other woman.

Has Politico written something similar regarding Chelsea Clinton? Or perhaps Clinton pales in comparison to The Donald and Chelsea to Ivanka. Whatever became of Amy Carter? Didn't her daddy have lust in his heart when she was a preteen? Or was she scarred from hearing about dad's encounter with killer rabbits?

Chelsea Clinton world?

Serial adultery, sexual harassment, lying? Not a problem a $250M foundation and the ruthless pursuit of more power can't fix. The pretending is a congenital affliction--and of course, in that family it's considered a talent.

Well, at least if Trump fucks the country, it will be the best we ever had. I'm pretty sure we couldn't say the same about Hillary.

Could muster more empathy here if I hadn't had to explain to an 8-year-old daughter what blowjobs comprised, when she'd been getting Clinton news.

His kids seem really amazingly well-adjusted, given the circumstances. Pity how the boys inherited every bit of their dad's looks, though.

Let me just say that the juxtaposition of these two comments.....

I can't remember having bad sex.

Wiki says of "Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India, and Indonesia" that some guy wrote in response "Drink, Play, Fuck: One Man's Search for Anything Across Ireland, Vegas and Thailand."

Apparently I am not the only mystified guy.

I stress that the acting is great, but just makes no sense.

At least she never had to see a soiled blue dress. Or cringe every time she heard the word cigar.

So anyway Trump's kid does or does not have a hard time with Trump's alleged whoring around.

I'd suspect the wives. They marry to show their friends what a good deal they have made for themselves, and get bored with their friends' lack of interest, and decide to move on.

The guy will stay with the wife that shows him that she's satisfied with him.

Not everyone is reading about it. The people I will encounter today:

--fellow marching band booster parents as we work together to get treat bags ready for our kids' competition on Saturday
--whoever is at Dillard's when I shop for a dress for a wedding
--the attendance clerk at my son's kindergarten where I will eat lunch with him

don't give a shit.

Most people don't.

well with Politico, founded by people that the washington post found weren't enough of hacks, it's wish fulfillment,

I don't want to hear about either of my parents having sex, period. No matter who it's with.

Imagine your father sexually assaulting lots of someones not your mother and your mother, instead of dumping the bum, attacks those others for daring to speak out about it.

On top of the many affairs, one of which not much older than you.

There are some significant differences from Chelsea Clinton:

1. Her father never left her mother.

2. There weren't (as far as I remember) and stories about how good the sex was with the women he was with. The women may have really loved him, some of them (Flowers and Lewinsky), but I don't think the sex-and-tell was that the sex was great....

Yeah, that would suck. I always felt bad for those girls whose fathers were pussy hounds. It fucked them up so badly. I'd much rather deal with my dad and his little drinking problem. At least that was clear cut. Lol. Seriously though. I felt comfortable comparatively lucky in the parental flaw sweepstakes. Ivanka handled it very well.

What's with this values crap? I'm sure he paid and all you seem to care about is money.

1) her mother shoulda left her father
2) we're aware you don't value masculine virility at half a pinch of snuff, but you are in the minority. You're proud, whatever else, when you hear your dad was the best lay ever. "That's my pop!"

I wonder what you feel when you hear that your father not only raped women, but with a woman your age who didn't fight him but said yes, he not only stuck cigars in, got rimmed by, etc etc etc, but then he wouldn't even give the poor girl his load.

What maniac pulls out of a hot wet suck, like Monica was hopefully laying down, and instead of feeding her the liquid love she's worked so hard for, you leave her and go shoot off in a sink. Splain please, Lucy?

Imagine you are a mom, that left her husband when her children were three and one, but never bad mouthed him to her children, at age 20 finding a letter mom kept (for sanity reasons) from one Jane Janetz to their father (written when they were three and one) stating how much she loved him, and how he had been "promising to leave [the wife/mom] and marry [Jane Janetz] for over three years now."

It was not easy discussing it with the kids as adults when they found the letter, but when I explained that to me, when I originally found it some 17 years prior, it was like he "erased the children" since the affair had been going on since before their births. Only upside was they were astounded that I had the guts to not bad mouth him. I told them it was easy not to--that I did it out of love for them.

Also, note to chicks that get entangled with married men--they usually do not end up marrying you! He did remarry, but not her.

And Jane, if you are out there--F.U., you homewrecking ho. (Not that he is not as much, or more, responsible than her, but I've never met nor contacted her and she is from Wisconsin, so I hope she sees this.)

Purely rational self interest on the part of the two mothers. Getting rid of Trump meant getting more money than anyone ever could spend, and freedom from the jerk. Divorcing Bill at the low point of his post-presidency would mean leaving before he made his mint off the post-presidential extravaganza. I doubt a bitter ex-wife could demand such high speaking fees.

The Trump and Clinton family have quite a lot of money to insulate their kids from the shocks of the world. My sympathies lie with Chrystie's kids. Their father is not so rich, and every day in every way he is relentlessly mocked for being fat. That's got to be a burden. Lust is a much cooler vice than gluttony. The Kennedy children--now through the fourth generation--have had to endure their share of embarrassing headlines before going on to create their own.

At least Trump's daughter only learned the "sex was great". Much worse to know every detail of one of your father's many sexual dalliances. From how he flavored his cigars to where he spilled his spunk teen Clinton was spared no detail.
