"You have to follow God. Don’t follow anyone else. Be obedient..."

"... and follow the laws and don’t worry about anything. I’ve followed him for many, many years and I ain’t tired."

Said Gertrude Weaver, who was the oldest person in the world for 5 days.

I am not very religious nowadays, but it still bothers me when people do not capitalize the H.

She will be dismissed by the Left because she's from Arkansas.

I wonder what the record is for being the oldest person in the world. A month? Six months? It can't be that long.

That old lady from France holds the record for being oldest longest. 5+ years.

"who was the oldest person in the world for 5 days"

No, oldest person in the world whose age can be verified.

Most people born 115+ years ago were born in huts in peasant villages and have no birth certificates to prove their age.

It's unlikely that the true oldest person in the world just happened to live in one of the few countries with reliable record-keeping.

Human mortality increases at an approx. exponential rate from ages 20 through 60. That is, the number of expected deaths at a given age increases by a failry constant percentage each year.

But after age 60 the rate of increase itself begins to increase. As it must, otherwise there would always be some tiny percentage living to any arbitrary age.

We'll know that longevity research is paying off if/when that rate of increase stops increasing, or at least increases at a slower rate.

Now can we debate whether taxpayer-financed medical treatment should be limited to palliation for those over age 70?

930 years

Of course he had a huge advantage getting there first. To break his record someone would have to live to be 1860 years old, which seems a little unrealistic.

When you consider that the countries with reliable record-keeping are more likely to have reliable healthcare and sanitation it does not seem so unlikely.

May the angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs come to welcome you and take you to the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem. May choirs of angels welcome you and lead you to the bosom of Abraham; and where Lazarus is poor no longer may you find eternal rest.

"In paradisum deducant te Angeli..." antiphon from the Requiem Mass

RIP, Mrs Weaver.

If you live 930 years you'd go through a lot of dogs.

But would you serve pizza at a gay wedding? That's what really matters these days...

My 106 year old Grandmother was called home by her God on Easter Sunday and I'm absolutely sure she would agree with her respected elder

One day we will all be the oldest person in the world, for fifteen minutes.

I think you can only be the oldest person for a second, given the historical birth rate.

IN many ways following gods law is actually common sensical. They have issues with out of sex wedlock. There are a lot of nasty bugs out there that will infect your penis and/or vagina.
If you don't dip your wick everywhere you are more likely not to catch ghonorrea.
Then again, you'll be missing out on debauched sex.

Before she goes we should ask her what she thinks of gay marriage and whether she would bake a cake for one if she was a baker. If she gives the wrong answer, when she goes we can all piss on her grave. Damn, bigoted bitch.
