"Conservative media, never somnolent, is in a new and different boom period, led by millennial writers who are striking out against fresh targets," asserts David Weigel.
What's he referring to? The Washington Free Beacon, The Federalist, and the Independent Journal Review. Hmm.

"It had been a good year for the WFB."
It is a target-rich environment.
I'll believe this when those publications get a wider audience.
The political left does not need parody, as we see with garage. It does it all by itself.
Wait a minute.
Is he talking about Rush Limbaugh in the 90s?
Because that fits his description.
I hesitated to read anything published by Ben Domenech, but I am starting to really take to THe Federalist. Mollie Hemingway is a National Treasure.
Original Mike takes the thread from the very start.
It is always more fun to make fun of pious blowhards, and now liberals are the defenders of morality based piety and conservatives are the underdogs. Of course a turnabout is underway.
South Park was the tip of the spear.
Mollie Hemingway is a National Treasure.
Ditto!
I kept seeing WFB and thinking William F. Buckley
Bloomberg View/Opinion stuff is always posited with a left-of-center spin, except for Megan McArdle. Weigle's complaints about WFB, Federalist, etal. do not make me sympathetic. Just another whining elitist in NYC or DC, that has no clue about the broader America in flyover territory!
