It can get tense, but we're still close. One has nightmares of making the wrong call - and I feel for him.

Black history is finally becoming important to them. When we were kids, they'd make racist jokes - mostly about Mexicans when I was around - so I've got ammo to nail them with, that's made them re-think.

For a while I considered the possibility that DRAGO (Demented Republican Aggressor Government Outreach) was actually a computer program designed by some social scientists in the Fed in order to probe the limits of non-Republican voters. How much will these suckers really put up with? I still haven't entirely ruled out this possibility. It is consistent with the passionless blather but it would seem to me that any decent programmer would have stocked such a program with a decent database on current affairs, science etc. Yet DRAGO has none of this basic stuff. It has come to my attention that McCaskill went to KS and convinced the libertarian senate candidate to drop out of the race because he would have split the democrat vote. By doing so, the democrat candidate has an edge over the republican.

As payment, McCaskill gets nominated as AG and Holder gets nominated to the Supreme Court (Ginsberg has talked about going when the time was right). It gets fast tracked while the GOP are so divided (and I'll add with their leadership being Obama's BFF).
