madAsHell, I'm glad you brought that up, because I'd really like to read some lawprof discussion of the "ENFORCE the Law Act of 2014". It seems nice to me, but I don't see how it's constitutional. Sorta practical from a legal-conservative point of view. The legislature makes the laws, and the executive enforces them.

But the Act itself seems to limit the power of both the Executive and Judicial branches.

Section 2(a) pretty much says the POTUS must enforce laws Congress passes. It ducks under that a bit, saying that the House shall be "authorized" to bring a civil suit if the POTUS misbehaves.

Section 2(c) lays out the rules under which the judiciary must settle such disputes.

Now, I know these are fuzzy concepts, and the borders of power among all three branches undergo constant debate and reform.

But it seems to me that the simplest Obaman response to this bill is to say "you can't do that without amending the Constitution". That hoists Trey Gowdy and company on their own petard.

Am I wrong?

Where do you guys get these great dogs?

Son of a bitch, on my tablet the Flickr site had a dingus lined up so it covered (this dingus was pixels indicating the tablet was 'working') the Terriors nose.

Being a black dingus the effect was quite special as Terriors' nose can attest.

Guildofcannonballs said...

So, the nose, this time not covered in cocaine, at least from my vantage, is black.

When that nose is centered in a picture, and in the center of the display the A) Website or B) tablet (i.e. operating system) pops up a black-pixeled interspersed-with dynamic small circular pastelled 'nostrils' as is our want, displays imposed/super cover-ups reveal more than my words do.

Dogs are just in the local dog park. People who care enough to bring their dogs to the off leash place are to be credited with having great dogs.

I haven't read his bill, but I assumed that it just re-iterated the constitution. I also assumed that the suggested remedies were already available to anyone with the pockets to pursue them. I viewed the whole thing as a political stunt that Obama would veto, and implicitly declare himself outside the balance of power.

Isn't it constitutional until the Supreme Court says otherwise??

@Bob Ellison
I guess our hostess isn't going to take the bait. Her most recent comment swoons about the lovely people, and dogs, at the dog park.

I love the dog pics.

Guildofcannonballs said...

So, now we must consider a pink nosed dog.

We're you surfing, saw a picture of a pink nosed dog, whether that(they) should be hyphenated or not, and in viewing a picture of the pink-nosed dog a pink 'supra'-imposed were it as pop-up graphic appears, with a pink background or ground back asitwere..

Guildofcannonballs said...

Well I tried to "paint a picture" as they say.

It hasn't worked out for me. I don't blame the audience.

I think betamax3000 could, on a local-level, be the funniest bot to ever break into the big leagues, like Titus.

Guildofcannonballs said...

The funniest line I conjure over months Betamax3000 forgot three years ago because it wasn't standard-wise synonyms for "local h copacetic"

And ironically I proclaimGOD BLess America.

hey, that's my name! Dog's got my name. I will take that as a compliment.

Never understood why "dogmatic" is an insult. Way better than "catty," for instance.

I got the dog-like devotion to dogma.

We interviewed a UW Phd/Economist candidate today.

We generally don't care to slum outside New England or the Ivies but I think we may extend her offer!!!

The challenge is do the candidates go into academics/ligitation consulting or public policy?

We will see.

tits and have a super day filled with hardons and erect nipples!

So it's called bound for the floor.

So what,
So what,
So what

Well who cares 'I do'

Well who cares

Who cares not you.

As it should be Metallica doing covers of The Misfits.

Bob Ellison said...

Titus, I can imagine a few scenarios within which your weird comment about a UW "candidate" would seem plausible. Alas, no such scenario has you wielding the power you claim, unless you are trying to destroy your career.

Guildofcannonballs said...

The most important thing, what matters most, is the lyrics of it's or its my life.

Think about it.

The authors of the song do.

"It's my life.

Don't you forget,"

It is his life indeed and you should not forget that.

Religion, Christianity, and specifically Catholicism don't forget that it is indeed his life.

So why was he there?

Who did what?

I wish not to condemn but help progressing the learning needed.

I will do it with Gram Parsons and Iris Dement.

John Prine and Another Mother.

"Can't you see the sun's setting fast on our town.

It's like they say nothing good ever lasts,

In our town, in our town Goodnight."

Maybe Althouse can get tickets in Madison. All the lucky will.

Beauty unlimited.

Celebrated in her day with many accolades.

Her day was last ten years and before then another ten or two.

And today.

Iris is playing inBoulder but I doubt I can go.

You Madison folks better wrath out or I will sell out Iris Dement with two arms tied behind my back and a crackle in my spine.

As Ted Cruz points out President Obama has made the dangerous mistake of subordinating national interest to partisan politics. He’s made the conscious strategic choice of fighting the Near Enemy in the hope that the Far Enemy will hold off. He’s weakened the military, hamstrung the energy sector, limited missile defense, and overtaxed the entitlements system at the expense of national security. He’s done it to buy votes, obtain a permanent majority and remain in power. That is what Cruz essentially accuses the president of doing in the video above.

Articles that start with

It is not uncommon for second-term presidents to turn more of their attention and focus to foreign policy.

are good ones to skip.

RecChief said...

It seems the House passed a Bill to give their co-equal branch of government standing to sue when the President does not faithfully execute the laws that they have sworn to uphold.

Predictably, the Obama Admin issued their veto threat, standing in firm opposition to faithfully executing the laws passed by Congress.

Hello Ann and Meade,

I'd like to introduce you to Kinderhook Farm and their assortment of guard dogs and superdogs: https://www.facebook.com/kinderhookfarm and also to Brian Frink, an artist who does wonderful large-scale animal portraits, from your neck of the woods (from my reckoning-point on the east coast): http://www.poorfarmart.com/commission/commission.html and many other excellent pieces.

The blog is all the richer from combining your two talents . . . thank you.
