I would have gone with De Blasio and the carriages.

This is why one should always vote Republican.

We need our media to mock our politicians. To keep them in line. That's what you get when you have Republicans in office.

That would be my campaign slogan if I were running for office, "Vote for me. Make the media do their job!"

No one could become a governor of NJ, survive a hurricane and be so stupid as to have been a part of the bridge-gate scheme. It would be like a senator/major presidential candidate not knowing there are 50 states in the US.

This caricature is racist, New Yorker would never dare to mock Obama.

Christie is a poster boy for the Government as a mafia "Protection Racquet." That is a mighty fine major traffic artery you have there. It would be a shame if anything happened to it.

The days of a Harry Truman's type of blunt honesty and a refusal to be corrupted are gone forever.

The government in DC now revels at being master of corruption and lies, and media aids and abets the crimes. The only resistance comes from an Untouchable Tea Party type like Ted Cruz.

But it has been fun watching MSNBC guys like Chris Matthews go into a near erotic reliving of their glory days of Nixon's Watergate scandal. It reminds me of the film of 50th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg encampment with the old men re-doing their rebel yells and Picket's charge.

That was a fast cover.

Seems to condemn Christie without any proof at this point.

Huff Po likes it.

If they wanted to make the proper point, they'd show Christie as a frog looking up in horror at the scorpion with the donkey face on his back, with the George Washington Bridge in the background.

I can see the Bridge-gate scandal mongering backfiring nationally.

The geographically limited anger the lane closures caused will likely accelerate the rate of scandal fatigue elsewhere in the country as the media overplays its hand.

They (Dems?) are trying to keep it going with a
class-action lawsuit

A personal injury lawyer from Fort Lee, New Jersey, filed the case in federal court on behalf of six local residents who missed work or suffered other alleged damages due to the traffic jam last September

Your theory is that Governor Christie had no idea what sort of people were working for him? They sound like a real fun bunch.

lemondog, Christie is a Rethuglican and is guilty by definition. (I know that is so obvious.)

Anyone note the 3rd car from left is a Citroen? (Jalopnik told me, I didn't notice it either.)

Christie turns out to have been a boy who has chased his ball into traffic. It doesn't mean there won't be a Republican next time but, to paraphrase what I heard on a Spanish radio station the night after Reagan's election, 'Para Christie esta adios a la casa blanca.'
