Basking on the Wisconsin River beach.
I walked all the way around to the other side to show you this alternate perspective on this river beachscape:

sshhhh! Don't tell Obama, or he will have to close the beach.
A beach is only on the ocean.
Citizen Althouse,
Much of that water has flowed through Federal Land at some point, and that river is in any case under EPA jurisdiction.
You are hereby directed and required to cease basking in its vicinity pending our successful resistance of the egregious Tea Party shutdown.
Your cooperation in this matter is expected and appreciated.
Have a nice day,
BARACK OBAMA,
President of the United States
OBAMA 2016
Prof. The Wash-Post today (Sun.) has a nice story on Justice Ginsburg. As an aside, I am impressed with how things happen at the top of the govt. How people get those top jobs. Very rarely news stories cover such aspects.

The town nearest to Spring Green is called Arena which means "sandy place" in Etruscan and came to English via Latin. I often wondered about the origin of that town's name but it is a sandy place.

Our beaches are better than your beaches.

Yeah, but if Citizen Althouse were an illegal alien she could not be arrested.

I like these overcast days, with the angry looking clouds. Too bad soon they'll be filled with snow flakes. My house is filled with the scent of cloves, cinnamon and apples. If you make applesauce (and cook them in the slow cooker to preserve more of the nutrients) keep the peels on, they are filled with quercetin, good stuff. So it appears an apple a day can truly keep the doctor away.
I love apple season, have yet to go pick some.
I was just wondering what kind of camera you use to take your photos. They are always so beautiful and clear. I am looking toward purchasing a new camera in the future and thought I would ask.
Surf's up!
chick I am not a big fan of the west coast. It's fine but I don't care to go there. I don't care for San Francisco much either. I mean it a million times better than the rest of the country but I am not that thrilled. I hate the south.
I am an eastern person. I like old better than new.....
I'm not talking about the fabulous people, Titus. I'm talking about the fabulous weather and beaches.
Dick Dale ditched the beaches of Quincy, Mass for better not for worse.
There's nothing wrong with CA that a little water and good people can't fix which is what one of your Senators remarked Hell was short on too.

chick I like the change of seasons. I don't want it 80 every day. I love snow and cold and fab sweaters. I am a midwesterner and snow is in my dna.
I also like educated peeps.
To be successful in Boston you need to be:
1) Ivy educated
2) Second tier Ivy (Tufts, BC, BU, Middlebury, Bates, Hampshire, Swathmore, Bowdoin etc.
3) Thin and attractive.
California Business is too slow too. We are fast here and I love fast.
As the Pet Shop Boys said in there song Go West...the franatic pace back east is bad. So Go West.

These photos were taken with an iPhone.
