Let's take a walk in the arb.
Meade's hogging the fisheye, and he's got a great eye:
It's very pink:
Let's celebrate the brackish water:
And the fabulous sky:
Zzzzzzz:

Love the fisheye!
Beautiful day (and shots).
Was it really that warm for Madame to go in short sleeves?
Nothing beats a shade tree, and a snooze!!
The sky above
The mud below
But, ah, the grass
For comfort.
Gosnell has avoided the death penalty.
And prosecutors have avoided any appeal. Which is actually too bad, because I would have liked the federal courts to resolve whether Pennsylvania can outlaw abortions after 24 weeks. My guess is the Supremes would have retreated from the "health" exception, but now we will never know.
I think that was the point of the deal.
They knew they could get life and he must have known the mood surrounding the case.
If they'd wanted to execute him, they probably could have gotten it, so he gets to live and they can see him rot without a long drawn-out court fight.
Not exactly win-win, but, as a great English philosopher once told us, "You cahn't always get what you want".
Ann, you seem to have picked out a nice spot in that last photo, but even if the arboretum gives permission for that to be your final resting place, the tree roots will make a mess of the casket.
I think I forgot what green looked like.
Oh great. Another dead body in the park.
Unless it's full of road salt, that water's not truly brackish.
Now see if Meade will add nature sounds to a video and make a ITunes App called The Beautiful In Beautiful Places.
"Was it really that warm for Madame to go in short sleeves?"
It was 90°!
It was 40 something when I went to work this morning at around 7 and came home early around 3 and it was only around 65.. :( well, we are planning a trip to Iceland to see northern lights -- WaPo published a deal from Icelandic Air.. cold begets more cold.
I didn't realize there was salt water in Madison.
I don't remember any when I was there.

I'd seen something on the Weather Channel Chicago was going to hit 90 tomorrow, but I didn't think it would be that hot that far north. Looks like we'll have a short Spring.
PS didn't mean to offend you.
Oh great. Another dead body in the park.
I think that's a guy thing.
A woman lying in the grass is totally alive.
Nice hiking clothes, if you're in the Sound of Music!
I could have called AAA and I could have had a battery delivered here, I could have had a nearby station bring equipment directly to my garage, I could have called a nearby emergency service. There were good easy options available but when the first words left my mouth people immediately and automatically began helping me and most all of them are women and all of them are beautiful.
I wish I could have taped this because looking back it really was extraordinary. It was a woman who opened my hood, a woman who jumped in to help push my truck into position, a woman who jumped the truck, handled the cables and everything, knew precisely what to do, a beautiful woman with decorated fingernails and expensive shoes did this, and it was a woman who later replaced the battery and tested the system. If you would have followed my activities you would be asking, where did all these beautiful women come from?
If my dad could see how these women in separate instances seized control of my truck battery situation he would be amazed. We grew up in a regimented household with somewhat regimented expectations as to who fixed cars, mowed lawns, affected repairs and such, and who did dishes. My two sisters and my mother wouldn't be caught dead dealing with anything having to do with automobiles. Not scrape the ice, run through carwash, keep interior clean, nothing.
This one time my mum got new license plates and suggested one of us go put them on and she meant for her little suggestion to mean NOW and apparently we didn't respond quickly enough because she got mad as a hornet. She wanted to go somewhere right then and have her new plates on but none of us got the urgency It was the way she said, "I got 3 boys in the house and I have to put the plates on myself!" And we burst out laughing. None of them would ever change a tire. So it amazed me. It would certainly amaze my dad. For women to just jump in like that with a willingness to get dirty. It was fun.
So Chip Ahoy,.. are you sure you were not just dreaming it all up?
Apparently DC has turned on Obama.. we will wait and see. Are there other agencies he can let loose on his detractors to silence them?
It was also the most expensive batter I ever bought. Double the last time. I mentioned that and it had no effect. "Everything's expensive." And I did notice also that I paid double to register the truck this time too so I didn't dispute, but it just seemed like a lot.
Also that was just half of it. No dream.
Still not done with the terrace, doing it in spits and spurts so stopped at three places to look around but things are short after Mother's day. Still, it was all women I encountered at each place and at each instance I detected a willingness to engage, the available subject right there and an unusual absence of defenses, and an uncharacteristic helpfulness. The men, not so much, but the women more so. It would only take a simple sentence like "I bet you'd get half off of this," and point to a dead plant, or, "That one you picked out looks like a Disney cartoon," and they opened right up telling me what they were up to, garden-wise, opening doors, making suggestions and so forth.
Chip - You're handsome and you can cook. The ladies understand this and gravitate.
Did you go to City Floral?
American Ninja Warrior tryouts are two blocks north of here. It's a big dealio. I'm debating, it's a toss up, go on over there and take a few pictures or just go ahead and enter.
It was 102 in SW Minnesota today. Glad that kinda heat didn't quite make it here.
Awesome to be alive weather here.
Lovely. Last week, my wife and I took a walk in the Brooklyn Bot Garden. These shots, all but the last of the lineless, sky could have been taken there as well. In Brooklyn, though, the idyll would have come with a cross-section of all the world's tribes, babbling away in as many tongues.
Ann looks so relaxed. Apparently the Arboretum's "menacing" turkeys were absent.
Love that skirt, Althouse!
Ha ha-nice, WVR.
Althouse, it seems like you and Meade make a lot of fun when you are together. That makes me smile.
Ah, the Professor on the bridge is Madison's own Eve in a garden! Beware the viper!
More beautiful pictures, and I second Saint Croix's praise for the fisheye.
